    Lamb BBQ Plate

Came here on a Saturday afternoon. No line, but food took 15-20 min to cook. Nice that it's cooked fresh, and we took the opportunity to walk around the local street fare while we waited. We got the mahi mahi fish and taro chips. My kids love fried fish, but the youngest found it too spicy (he's very sensitive). I loved the fish, it was my favorite out of everything I ordered. My kids loved the taro chips. I also got the lamb plate with the palau. Tasty. My daughter liked the lamb. The sausage had a bit of kick to it. I got extra mango salad instead of the cassava. Generous portion of food. I'd definitely come back. They said they're here during the weekends. Check out their Instagram for their latest locations.

The Ceviche looks so good in the picture, but what I got looked more like the synthesized protein from The Matrix.

Wow this food was yummy!!! Lots of meat in it too, 20$ for this was really worth, Wishing the 2 guys who run this business all the very best in all their future endeavors!!! The cake was moist and delicious.

We just tried Fijian BBQ and as someone who has never had it before, I will review based on the TASTINESS of the dishes we tried. Ceviche. They didn't have salmon for their ceviche tonight but they had mahi-mahi and it was EFFIN DELICIOUS. this did not disappoint as it was a welcome cooling sensation to eat with the bbq and flavorful with pieces of mango and onion along with creaminess of the mayo hitting your palate. salmon bites and garlic taro fries... the salmon bites were fried/cooked to perfection. Crispy outside yet still moist inside. Garlic taro fries were also delicious although the fry was inconsistent, it was cooked and flavorful! My boyfriend and I were fighting for pieces of fish and fries. I probably didn't win despite my constant glaring every time he reached for more fries. BBQ combo plate. Okay. This is the first time I've had Fijian bbq. And I did not expect the spice and tanginess that came from the chicken and short ribs. It wasn't very spicy but it had the right amount to surprise, delight, and wow me. The mango side was the perfect accompaniment to the bbq and although the cassava didn't taste much like anything, it still tasted good when you stuff it in your mouth with the bbq. I'll definitely be back again! Maybe without the boyfriend so I don't have to share.

I knew this place was going to be good, but it blew me away. I got the bbq combo and it did not disappoint. Way more food then I expected. And the flavor on everything is just so good. Will def be back to try more! And this cake thing I can't remember what they called it sooo good!

This cool food truck caught my attention from far yesterday. I had make a u turn to check it out. Now I've tried all kinds of bbq before, but not Fijian BBQ. There flavors are on point. Meat is cooked to perfection. Good portion sizes. Family owned and friendly owners. The meat is halal. They have some vegetarian options. They have some options that may be considered gluten-free. Come check these guys out! Can't wait to try some more bomb ass food. I'll be back.

First of all, I would like to thank them for opening a Fijian food truck. It's been years since I have been able to eat Fijian food whenever I craved it. There's not too many Fijian restaurants out there. Their food has such awesome twist to it. Chefs kiss! Cassava cake is probably my favorite thing from them. The chicken is always juicy. All the items they have are tasty and high quality. Their customer service is awesome! I always feel welcomed by them. Reminds me of back home in Fiji. They carry the Fijian hospitality with them. They create amazing experience through and through. I will continue supporting them not just for good food but how amazing people they are too. Vinaka guys!

Definitely worth it. Especially if you're missing the islands and you want some home made soul food. Keep up the good work!

What a gem of a restaurant!…read more We were looking for some bbq on a Sunday funday and were so glad we stopped by. It's in the grocery outlet plaza. Order at the counter and sit and enjoy kind of place. It's decorated simply with a tv that was playing ufc and we were welcomed by Tim who was so warm and hilarious our entire visit. First thing I noticed was how fairly priced the place is. 1lb of brisket is 30 dollars, potato salad is 5 dollars and soda is 2 dollars (some places charge like 4 bucks for a can!) Ordered, sat down and enjoyed some convo with the order and our food came out in about 10min. If there's one thing to get, it's the brisket fries!! Oh my word, the sauce and cheese all go so well with the bbq. I like how their sauce has a kick to it and isn't overly sweet. The brisket was really tender and smoked well. I personally enjoy fattier pieces of brisket but I bet if I would've asked for those cuts he might've accommodated. The smoked potatoes salad is almost a must. Very unique style of potato salad and pairs well with everything. We noticed they also do catering, and the prices for that also look very reasonable. Would definitely considering using them for our next party!

I truly believe that there is potential here, but a lot of things would have to change. When you walk in, BBQ is not the first thing you smell. I'm the type that if you can smell the BBQ when you get out of the car, it's probably about to be pretty dang good. I got all the way into the restaurant and it was just a vague smell... not necessarily bad, but not necessarily food, either. * The Mac n' Cheese recipe needs to be re-thought and revised. It was watery, tasteless and not what you would expect from a black owned business. * The cornbread is expensive and not given as sidecar to your sides. I'd rather pay a little more for food overall when I buy a plate and get cornbread than have to ask for and purchase a side of cornbread. As far as taste, if I wasn't eating it with the greens, it wouldn't have been very good standalone. * I had the rib plate.... No rub in sight, not even the slightest hint of salt and pepper coating. It was almost like the ribs go straight from package to smoker, no process in between. They seem to take the angle of drowning them in sauce, which is overly tangy seems like a bulk purchase sauce, rather than a house made sauce. BBQ sauce is too simple to make to not hone in on your own sauce recipe. The ladies who plate the food chop the ribs in half as a means to fit them into the carton, but to be honest, I don't wanna see or taste pigs marrow when I'm eating my ribs. Ribs were also very dry and over-charred... a few pieces. * The greens were the best thing on the whole plate to be honest. * Lastly, the hot sauce packets were puffy and swollen, which is never a good sign. Never seen that before until I came here. Also, I asked for extra BBQ sauce and was told that would be an extra charge..... this was already a tip off that they don't get a lot of business and now they're at the "nickels & dimes" point of their day-to-day operations. All in all, it just seems like the labor of love has been lost on this place, as it was recommended to me by someone who says it was good years ago. While that might be true, it seems the family has gotten too comfortable with their neighborhood regulars to keep the doors open and the quality is slipping as the month and years pass. If you're reading this as the owner, I hope this is a motivator for you to restructure and re-brand so that you become a "line out the door" business, because in today's climate, it only takes one influencer to enter your doors and call your food "certified" or "trash" for YouTube, IG, Twitch etc.. Be brave and make changes.

When I asked him where he got the ribs, he said Famous Dave's. I knew that I had to try them out for myself. It was always one thing after another, but finally, I had time on a Wednesday afternoon. I didnt want to deal with a crowd and when I went, it was perfect. We were seated right away. Our service was Yanira and she was awesome. So friendly, answering all of our questions. I got the ribs and meat meal since I also wanted to try their chopped pork. My sides were Mac and Cheese and Tater Tots. When my order came, I got their special fries and before I could even say anything, another server came with a bowl of my tater tots apologizing for the mistake. No complaints here since I got another side. Everything was delicious. The ribs were tender. I also loved their BBQ sauce. I was going to order water, but since it was a special occassion, i ordered a Dr. Pepper and I was surprised that it came in a large mason glass jar. The Dr. Pepper wasn't peppering.....if you know you know, it just didnt taste strong, but I did enjoy that the drink was ice cold. They dont have coke, but serve pepsi products. The cornbread was perfection, warm and buttery. Disclaimer, the Mac and Cheese had corn in it, just stating if you care about that sort of thing. It was more on the saucy cheesy side. I never had Mac and Cheese like that, but since I love Mac and Cheese and I love corn so it was hit in my world. Portions are huge and I had to take some food home. Prices seem comparable to other places that serve BBQ. Lots of seating areas and I can see on special occasions or on the weekends, this place could get packed. Plenty of parking. I'm gonna check with my NorCal moots about this but sucks if that's true. I was going to comment on how this is one of few bastions of affordable, slightly more unique food in the bay area, but I guess that's not the case. I'm spoiled by having a Dollar Hits in SoCal literally down the street from me so I can't say this place compares, but it's at least an option for NorCal, you know? This definitely used to be another restaurant, but then retrofitted to be a grill. Super large grill in the middle for everyone to communally cook at indoors. This is a good combination between the outdoors grill it yourself and the indoors seating of both the SoCal Dollar Hits, so I thought that was nice. They have all the classics here, isaw (sometimes Dollar Hits doesn't have this unless you request -it's chicken intestines), large intestines, chicken skin, kwek kwek (battered quail eggs), and Tender Juicy bright red filipino hot dogs (a must). You can also order a side of rice and the sauces were self serve (made it a bit sticky). It gets a bit smoky in there even with the fans, but overall had an enjoyable time the time when I did visit.

While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus.
