This restaurant is very close to our house but its our first time trying it. The interior is very beautiful! I didn't expect it as we entered the restaurant Yoj have to order through the QR code o. Each table. There was an older couple who came before we left and try didn't like the idea of ordering throught the phone. I think that's one disadvantage of electronic ordering. J think the seniors should be considered too. The food is really good! The skewers were all tasty: beef, lamb, chicken with pineapple and chicken gizzard. I didn't like the vegetable skewer. The wrapper was like paper. The eggplant with garlic and the cucumber salad were so good! Definitely a must try! The cold noodle was delicious too! Left the restaurant so full! We will definitely be back!
We came to here to celebrate Mother's Day, and it wasn't too crowded. We ordered quite a few different skewers, including chicken gizzard, beef, lamb, and veggies. One thing I really like about this place was the seasoning was flavorful without being too salty that you could actually tasted the meats flavor. Highly recommended!
We had been craving some bbq while in the area that wasn't the standard kbbq. Ever since we tried Chinese style bbq skewers last year, we definitely wanted to try more, Dynasty bbq came up on Yelp and seemed quite reasonable in price and serving size. When you enter and get seated, you will be prompted to go on the url code at the table to pick your items. While I understand that this is the new way for restaurants to serve guests post-covid, the vast menu items you have to scroll through makes me long for physical menus of the past - but that's just my boomer take for the day. There were a bunch of other items like rice and noodle dishes that looked interesting to pair with the meats, but we were only craving bbq so we skipped out on the carbs. We ordered a BUNCH of skewers, from the standard beef, lamb, pork belly to chicken skin and a fried quail. All of the skewers had the same type of dried chili powder spice seasoning mix so unfortunately there wasn't too much of a diversity in flavor profile but on the flip side, it allowed us to focus more on enjoying the meat quality itself (this is where rice or noodles would definitely help cut through the richness). All of the meats were incredibly well-cooked and charred. It is on the drier side, so be aware if you are looking for a juicier, plumper cut of meat that some other restaurants have. Paired with the Chinese vinegar, soy sauce, and chili oil, they were super delectable. My personal favorites were the pork belly, chicken skin, and beef. We had some leftovers to go and the staff provided us some extra sauce to go so that's a big plus. Great food here and definitely will be back to try more of the other menu items for the full experience.

The noodles were also yummy but I would recommend ordering that first since we got a bit full from the skewers. This place is easy to order with your eyes and not with your stomach Even though you order from your phone, the staff is diligent and the ambience is calming.
After Chef Liu closed, I had to find a new skewer spot which was a struggle to find a place of the same quality. I absolutely love Dynasty BBQ! To me, it's better quality than Ace King BBQ, but to each their own. Sometimes this location has live music, which is cool. - I've only encountered them twice in coming here. The skewers are well balanced with meat and fat. So juicy! Service is not anything to complain about, so I'm content with that. There's another location in San Mateo or Burlingame, which is just as good too!
First of all, this place got the ambiance down! I seriously felt like I'm in one of those old Chinese kungfu temples or something. With that said, seating is kinda limited. Place isn't huge. Food was good, food was decent. It did take forever to get our food after ordering it. I legit thought they forgot our orders. Parts of the first order came when we were getting our 2nd order of food. If food came out faster then I would give it another star
Tried this spot out with my friends. They took a while to notice us enter but let us pick any table we wanted. Ordered through a QR code online and everyone can pick what they want. They bring the sticks out already cooked. The heating tray on the table is just to keep it warm. The skewers are pretty good. Everything seems to be caked on with the same spice blend regardless of what it was. The beef, chicken pineapple, enoki mushrooms, and a choy were my favorites. Pretty good overall and easy to eat and share with friends. Main complaint is I wish the food came out hotter. All the temperatures of the skewers were about lukewarm so it did not seem super fresh and the warming platter doesn't help much since there is just a few tea candles under it.
Dynasty BBQ now has a few locations in the Bay Area, and the Newark location was recently named one of the best Chinese restaurants in the country by Yelp. This was my first time trying Chinese skewers--we got 18 in total, plus their cold cucumber salad and spicy rice noodles--and each bite, infused with their signature spice mix, was bursting with flavor. The decor felt very authentic, but I couldn't help feeling the price was a bit steep for what I expected to be a more premium experience.
Really solid skewer joint in central Fremont with lowkey vibes and friendly staff! It is actually renamed to Dynasty BBQ now but google maps still says Oyama. The seasoning on the A choy was really good it didn't taste watered down at all from the vegetable. It is not that spicy either it is more savory even though there are chili flakes. In order of my favs for the meats: lamb, special lamb, beef, fish tofu = beef tendon I would definitely recommend getting the lamb and beef skewers they have a nice bit of fat in them for a melt in your mouth texture. The seasoning is yummy and savory - the meat quality is quite high. Would be nice to get more spice and aromatics in the seasoning or add an option for that. The appetizers we tried (cucumber / potato) salad were good too. Nice seasoning and good textures! The staff were also super accommodating my friend has a peanut allergy and they double checked with each order to make sure the right precautions would be taken. They also let us get a separate grill pan to avoid cross contamination.
Dynasty BBQ is located in a small strip mall. The place used to be called Oyama BBQ. Parking seems to be OK. Not sure during peak times. Elegantly decorated with antique Chinese furniture. The chairs are not the most comfortable of chairs. I should know, growing up my parents had the same kind of furniture. Order via QR code on your table. The great thing is that they skewers can be customized to not be spicy. What's the use, you say? Well, my wife cannot eat spicy foods. So I asked that they omit it from some of the skewers. They however played it safe and did our whole order. No problem, it was still seasoned well with cumin and other spices. *Beef Skewers (4/5) - tender yet firm enough to know you were chewing beef. *Beef Tendon (4/5) - I like tendon so this was all my choice. Firm and chewy. *A-Choy (4/5) - wilted and charred slightly but still had a nice crispness. *Chicken Wings (3.5/5) - lightly seasoned bit cooked well. Support your local business.

My friends and I went here recently to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we had an amazing experience. We were a big-ish party but the service was very attentive and we did not feel rushed. I was also shocked to find out they give a freebie bag for birthdays, which included a cute capybara chef plush, snacks, and a drink! I'm not sure why it says permanently closed because we went a few weeks ago and saw no notice. I hope it's still open because I'd def come back! read more

Skewers for dinner. What's not to like? This place always has the best lamb skewers. In fact, their pork, pineapple chicken, and enoki bacon are tasty as well. We always order the cucumber salad here and dip our skewer meat into the sauce. Absolutely delicious! Their decor is fun, too. There are large, ornate wooden tables with candle heated (sterno style) warming plates throughout the whole restaurant. The ceiling is completely covered with hanging pink flowers. And not sure if they still have entertainment on weekend nights, but a few times in the past they had a musician playing a Chinese zither. If you like skewers, this place is definitely worth a visit. read more
We came to Dynasty BBQ to celebrate mother's day on sunday evening, where it wasn't too packed. There are multiple locations in the Bay Area but this was the first time we visited this one in Newark We ordered quite a smattering of different skewers including chicken gizzard, beef, veggies. What's nice about Dynasty is that they come pre-cooked, and effectively the grill is to keep the skewers warm. Flavor wise, the seasoning is not too salty and has great taste. Delicious protein date night at Dynasty BBQ. We've been here last year and thought it was so good but didn't go back since the wait was so long. Perfect to go during the weeknight early dinner. Literally every dish was good: lamb, beef, chicken, cucumber, corn, bacon wrapped mushrooms This will be a regular date night restaurant for us, reasonable prices and so tasty! read more
Food - 5/5 my family loves their beef skewers- hands down the best ever in the bay (& even better than the ones in SoCal). They earned Yelp's top100 restaurant last year too. Their chicken wings really tender, great lamb skewers. I love their chives skewers particularly. Very crunchy and good spice seasoning. The cucumber in their cucumber salad is refreshing and crunchy. The sauce is a little light for me as I like dressing with richer acidic/vinegar and sweetness texture. It's pretty fragrant though as they have peanut and sesame mixes in the dressing. Ambiance - 5/5 Great decor with soothing Chinese harp music in the background. Service 5/5 fast expedient and even went out of way to separate my veggie skewers from the rest of the meat skewers. read more

Love skewers spots and Dynasty BBQ hit the spot for us. My friend and I were passing by the area and decided to stop by for dinner. It was mostly full when we arrived Sunday evening around 7 pm, but luckily there were still 1-2 tables available so we were seated immediately. The decoration inside is done beautifully, with hanging flowers from the ceiling and Chinese accents all around. To order, everyone at your table can scan the QR code and choose items to add to a shared cart. It's quite convenient as everything is updated in real time. They have all the typical options, with a good selection of meat and vegetarian skewers. I only wish they had more standard chicken options, but all of their chicken skewers were random things like chicken heart or skin but not regular chicken meat. The two of us shared 11 skewers and thought it was a good amount of food. My favorites were the lamb, chicken wings, and a-choy. Our bill came out to ~$50 for the two of us, which isn't bad. read more

It's been awhile since I've visited and I'm disappointed to say that it's not as good as it used to be. The pieces of meat got significantly smaller and the food comes out lukewarm. The beef is also fattier than I last remembered. They got rid of the person who used to play the konghou and replaced her area with more tables, which is fine because there used to be long lines. read more

It was a decent place to satisfy my skewer cravings since my go to place in milpitas closed down. It was a bit expensive though and there was a roach by where they sat us. It was still alive. And no one seemed to notice our care about getting it cleaned up. It was the first thing I noticed when we walked in. read more

I came here with 3 other friends and we all loved the skewers here! The lady playing the chinese instrument at the corner was a lovely touch and the music was nice. We got beef and lamb skewers and they were cooked well and had a great chewy texture! The duck blood dish was sooo good in the chili pepper sauce. If you like duck blood you'd easily like this. The food came out pretty quick and was able to order easily on the qr code scanned on phone. read more
I went for dinner on a Sunday night. We were first ones seated at 5pm opening and the restaurant filled up quickly by around 6pm. STARS (stand out qualities) -I especially enjoyed the Egg plant and lamb -Aside from exceptions below, most of the food was very tasty -Beautiful traditional Chinese interior -Food came out fast -Prices seem reasonable STAIRS (areas of growth) -Carpet at entrance needs to be replaced or fixed since it seemed like you could easily trip over it -Beef skewer (not slices) was a bit dry -Shrimp seemed a bit over cooked and pricy -Server walks over with the skewered food. I recommend serving on a plate or platter as it just seemed like some food street vendor handing to you Still gave 5 stars since the pros outweighed the areas of growth. We always have an exceptional experience here! The wine choices were excellent and paired beautifully with the bold flavors of their skewers. The BBQ here is absolutely some of the best we've had -- beef skewers were juicy and tender, and lamb, pork belly, enoki mushrooms, and eggplant all delivered in flavor and texture. Service was top notch: friendly, attentive, and genuinely invested in making our night special. The ambiance is stunning -- warm, traditional décor with a cozy, inviting vibe. The place fills up fast, so arriving early pays off, and parking is shared but usually manageable. My kids loved it too -- trying different skewers was fun, and the staff made them feel welcome. Bonus: they place your skewers on a warming plate so they stay piping hot throughout the meal. If you're looking for a BBQ / skewer gem in the area that balances flavor, ambiance, and excellent service -- this is it. Highly recommended and we'll absolutely be back. read more
If you have no previous experience with Chinese style barbecue skewers, this might be acceptable. This type of dining should be vibrant like a pub. While their dining area was clean and fairly comfortable, it was not fun or lively. Service was acceptable. Prices are elevated. Skewers of seasoned meat and vegetables cooked fresh and served to you - just click (responsibly) to order from your phone and fill up your belly! This Chinese establishment serves up some deliciously seasoned protein options skewered and roasted fresh before they're brought to your table. Most of the seasoning had chili on it so almost everything has a nice kick to it. If you can't handle spice, you may want to keep the water handy (they give a pitcher for each table) or rinse it off before consumption. I personally enjoy the flavors and couldn't get enough of it! The seasoning is about the same for everything so you're just really deciding on the type of protein/textures you're looking to explore. This place gets packed really soon after opening and stays pretty busy throughout the night so I recommend coming early or prepare to wait. There isn't a whole lot of room inside nor are there too many big tables (they may be able to slide some side to side) so consider coming with small to medium sized parties. There is a waitlist you can join but just come a few minutes before opening and you'll be fine. They have a parking lot shared with other shops but it's a pretty quiet mall so there is no issue with getting a spot. As you walk in, you'll be illuminated by decorative lighting and wooden fixtures along the wall and ceiling. It gives off a traditional feel and gets you in the mood for some good old fashioned BBQ. Do be mindful of the rugs, however, as I almost tripped a few times walking past the bits of carpet that was raised up. Everything is ordered through the online menu available via the QR code at the table. If it's your first time here, consider signing up to their free membership program as you can earn cash back to be used when you checkout. Each person at your table can use the QR code to open the menu and add items for the table. When it is time to check out, one person can request to pay and the server will come to process your payment. They have a variety of different options on their menu, including meat, seafood, and vegetables. Among their meat options, they have lamb, chicken and beef. A lot of the succulent meat options are tenderloin pieces, but my personal favorite were the alternative cuts of meat, including tripe, gizzard, and hearts. They also have fish, shrimp, tofu and stinky tofu on skewers. In addition, they also have premade plates of mixed vegetables (it's refreshing) and sliced beef (it's a cold cut and delicious). If you're looking for some carbs, they do also have noodles and rice. After placing an order, it's sent to the kitchen to start cooking up your food fresh. As you wait, you can order more and enjoy some drinks as you chat it up with your party. Just be careful - the costs can creep up but fortunately, the tab is tracked well in the online ordering browser page. When the food is ready, they'll hand deliver the skewers to you and place it in your warming plate. They do rattle off the orders as they place them down but you can always ask to clarify if you're unsure. Unfortunately, they don't have much selection when it comes to desserts but the main event is the BBQ, so it was no big deal. But because the mall is pretty barren, we had to travel down a few blocks to get to some meaningful sweets to cap off the meal. Furthermore, they have a single bathroom stall that does make it challenging for families taking turns to use it. It's pretty spacious and relatively clean. Overall, Dynasty BBQ will have your mouth tingling with their house combination of spices and you'll have a great time trying their different meat options - all with just a few taps with your fingertips. For the lazy who want to just dig in, this is the place for you as they cook all their food before they serve it to you and the come out piping hot out of the kitchen just minutes after you place your order. Yum! Overall, Dynasty BBQ offers a dining experience that's fast, delicious, and affordable. It's also open late in the evening, which makes it convenient. Everything here is skewered and prepared for you. On the plus side -- no effort on your part. On the negative side -- if you order a lot, the skewers can cool down too much, even with their warming contraption they provide. As far as the food offerings: they provide a nice variety, and virtually every option is delicious and executed well. The meats are definitely a win. My top picks? The chicken heart, lamb, beef, chicken gizzard, bacon-wrapped enoki mushrooms, quail eggs, and buns (not a meat, but butter and delicious when grilled). All are absolute highlights. Additionally, the sliced potatoes, oyster mushrooms, and pork intestines are also solid choices. Would order all aforementioned again. Drawbacks: The only miss for me was the veggie rolls, but it was pretty bad. I found it impossible to chew and flavorless. Avoid. Everything seems to have the same seasoning -- and fortunately it's a tasty blend -- but it can feel one-dimensional without any variety or any dipping sauce. Would have loved some greens like lettuce to balance the meal. Low effort and low cost and would go a long way. The food didn't stay hot for long, which was a letdown. Improving how they keep meat warm would really elevate the experience since that's the beauty of grilled food. That said, this spot is great for what it is--a fast, casual BBQ joint. Friendly service. Cute little spot. Do note the name is different on the sign lol Food - good skewers! I especially liked the warming plate to keep your items warm while you eat. Hands down my fav is always the bread and the choy. I love the spices they use. The bread was pillowy soft on the inside with a nice crisp on the outside. Meats were good too! Even though the name sounds Japanese, this place is definitely a Chinese restaurant that specializes in BBQ, not yakitori. The decor is very nice, but the pictures make the restaurant deceptively big when in reality its pretty small. I came on a Sunday night and there was a small wait at 6:00pm. For busier days, I would recommend coming earlier to put your name down on the Yelp wait list. We ordered a bunch of skewers. korean cold noodles and spicy rice noodles. The skewers all have pretty big portions and are fairly priced given the environment. For first timers, the lamb skewers are a must order. The noodle orders were also yummy, though the spicy rice noodle is pretty spicy. I just wish the restaurant was bigger since it did feel a little cramped. Although there are many other skewer places, this place fits the bill for a more upscale one in terms of decor and vibe. read more

First time at a Chinese bbq.. The beef, pork and lamb skewers were the table favorites! Got multiple orders of those. Quail and quail eggs were also nice . Pair with sides fresh vegetables for balance . I loved the warm sweet buns too. Everything was kept hot on the bbq plate. Things that didn't wow as much was the seafood & veggie skewers- squid ,shrimp, bacon covered mushrooms, oyster mushrooms , chicken hearts etc. The spicy rice noodle bowl was also dark, rich and had the distinct Shanghai pepper flavor! The ambiance was beautiful and service prompt. We just missed the live music, but if you are lucky , you'll spot the traditional musical instruments and live artist. This is my absolute favorite place to get skewers. Their beef skewers have incredible taste & texture. I also love getting their fresh beef tripe, pork intestines, and bacon wrapped enoki mushrooms. You order for the table with a QR code which makes the ordering process seamless. The orders come out quick and well cooked. You can also be a member for free and get 5% back every time. Parking is easy, it's a shopping plaza so lot parking. Never had a problem finding a spot. I've been pretty lucky with getting a table every time, but definitely could get busy if coming at peak times. Some caveats: The seasoning is pretty much the same for most of the skewers. The skewers were deliciousssss, very flavorful, tender..and fairly priced. It was need that the grill in front is warm to keep the skewers nice and hot while you get through the food. Wow this is place is so good!!!! Went pretty late at night and the place was decorated nicely. We got pretty much all the meats lamb, chicken, beef, and chicken hearts. They were all seasoned pretty well and cooked perfectly! Service was great, you just scan a QR code and you order from there, pretty efficient. This was honestly a great experience and the food was really good! read more
