OPL is such local popular fun hang out pub/ bar. It serves great drinks, casual dining, and host many cool awesome live music venues & local line dancing events. What I like most here is the clean and huge outdoor areas both front and the back of the bar. It's perfect for a sunny day or a foggy evening! Delicious food can be ordered by the side of the bar. My absolute favorites at OPL are the amazing slushies, the breakfast açaí/granolas/ berries smoothies, and fish n chips. Heard about the fish curry. Will try it someday soon. Friendly atmosphere with great service and vibes! You can come here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, or just stop by after work to chill with a drink! How cool is that? Highly recommend!

The vibe of this bar is great! All the staff were chill and welcoming. And the decos super cool with surfboards from Maverick pros lining the ceilings and a cool outside lounge area. Definitely a must visit!

    Walking distance from our hotel!

Love this Local Gem! Just ordered apps, plenty of food to share. Wings, calamari, fries. Order next door grab a beer, is a whole vibe. Never disappoints, always a go to!

I'd give it 3.5 stars. This place is more pub/bar like rather than a restaurant. Like if I had to describe this place to someone who hasn't been here it's a bar that also serves food on the side but it is a bar not a restaurant. The food itself was pretty good, solid portion size as well. We sat outside so we didn't have a designated server we just ordered at the counter and then when our food was ready we were paged.

    Eggs Benedict

Recently while driving down the coast was feeling a little hungry so we decided to stop here. The food was good the taste and flavor of the Benedict was different than I've ever had before not sure what the sour tasting sauce was but it was not Hollandaise sauce same with the clam chowder a little weird taste. Anyways I hear the woman's bathroom is disgusting especially the floor. Nice people work here especially the gal that took our order. Will I come back. Maybe if the bathroom is repaired

We came here on a semi-rainy day with our dog and sat in the large back yard! I was craving seafood so we got the fish tacos Baja style grilled (yum! The red cabbage was almost creamy) and the fish and chips were a bit more decadent but with a hell of a lot of fish. We also split a grilled cheese which was surprisingly delicious and came with a side of fries. We chose to get the vegetable of the day which was as Brussels sprouts. They were topped with Parmesan and were a good attempt although a little greasy for my liking. The woman at the counter was super nice and answered all my questions about the different fish options. You can even order a side of cod on a salad if you want something super healthy. I thought the backyard was nice and there was a fire pit. There was some seating with an overhang which is good for rain. You pick up the food yourself and get your own silverware. Overall, would come back.

Okay was so hungry only got a pic of the view from inside

Anyone know if they are Dog friendly. Ex, if I want to do outdoor dining with my dog with me?

All of the restaurants in Half Moon Bay are so I presume Old Princeton is as well.

    What are the portions like?

I would say the portions are generous.

Is there a limit to your party size while dining in?

    Is OPL dog friendly?

out back and out front only

The parking situation was absolutely wild for a Wednesday afternoon. I ended up parking down the hwy and walking over. To my surprise, they had an outdoor table available for the two of us and my dog right away. I also appreciated that they seated me immediately even though I mentioned my friend wouldn't arrive for another 15 minutes. Despite the cool temperatures and wind, the outdoor patio has a beautiful view and made for a very pleasant lunch setting. My friend is gluten-free, and we were happy to see that many menu items were clearly labeled as GF, making ordering much easier. We shared a bowl of Manhattan clam chowder, which was enormous, we couldn't even finish it! We also ordered the roasted petrale sole along with a side of creamy roasted mushrooms. Both dishes were delicious, generously portioned, and perfect for sharing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, we both enjoyed our lunch and would happily return.

I arrived a little later than my friend. Once I arrived, he suggested take out as there was a waiting line. I ordered fish & chips. He as well, and also a large white clam chowder. Chicken tenders for his son. We went to the back of the restaurant, outside, where there was seating on bar stools. As always, with all my reviews, I can only speak of my own experiences. With my fish & chips, for $21.95, came 2 pieces of battered fish, and French fries. I was in shock when I tried the fish. No taste. I added the sliced lemon that was provided, and that helped a tiny bit. The French fries were cold. My friend's French fries were cold as well. I didn't want to complain, as my friend paid the $95 for all 3 meals. We both ate about 1/4 of the fries and tossed out the remaining. I'm guessing the other meals must taste better, being the restaurant is packed every day. Just guessing! Neither of us will patronize the restaurant again. Out in the back of the restaurant is a beautiful beach that's definitely worth a visit to.

Curious about what the new/old place is like, our three-person family went there for a late breakfast today. Walking up to the front doors, the original inset stained glass remains. Walking in, the cool wood paneling and nautical decor remains in place with a couple of new touches. The fully appointed bar also remains, now with a more streamlined look with subtle lighting changes. We were greeted pleasantly and seated inside the dining room immediately; it was moderately busy and buzzing, not too loud. Our server was quick to our table, menu-knowledgeable and consistent in his attention to us. We had a Denver omelette, a couple of bennies and lemon ricotta pancakes to share. My omelette had particularly fresh and al fresca peppers and onions - wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes were sufficiently saturated and fluffy(hard to pull off)and came with fresh cream. The prices were at about the same level as the local competition, which pleasantly surprised us. It appears that the folks who did this breakfast/lunch reboot were shrewd in pricing their dishes. Jetty Wave, a drinks and appetizers adventure(which I heartily recommend as well for different reasons)in the northwestern part of Princeton, is not for the fiscally faint hearted. The only element that makes our experience short of a 5 is that we were not given a farewell when we left, though I was able to find our friendly server and thanked him. In all, the Joanne's legacy is intact - the old carved wood Ketch Joanne sign still hangs inside - literally and figuratively a homage to its legacy while bringing a new energy to this space. Recommended.

We stopped by for lunch on a crisp day, and it completely captured that perfect coastal vibe--think fresh seafood, laid-back atmosphere, and killer views of the boats and water. We started with the calamari, which was hands-down some of the best I've ever had: tender, not rubbery at all, perfectly seasoned and fried, melting in your mouth. The New England-style clam chowder was rich, creamy, with just the right subtle smokiness and balanced seasoning--definitely lives up to Half Moon Bay's chowder reputation. For mains, the Dungeness crab sandwich was the star: generous lumps of sweet local crab, minimal sauce (just how I like it), on toasted sourdough with fries on the side. My partner went with the fish and chips, and the cod was crispy, flaky, and not greasy at all--classic done right. The outdoor patio with fire pits was cozy even in cooler weather, and our server was super friendly, attentive, and full of local recommendations. The place feels welcoming, whether you're a regular from the Coastside or just passing through after a beach walk or harbor stroll. Prices are fair for the fresh, quality ingredients and location--definitely worth it. We've already added it to our list for the next trip to Half Moon Bay. Highly recommend if you're craving solid seafood in a charming harborside setting! 5/5 stars.

When the restaurant opened, there was no greeting or welcome. The door was simply unlocked, and we had to figure out ourselves that it was time to come in. We were seated first and given menus right away. After that, we were basically ignored. Other tables that came in after us had their orders taken, received bread, and were brought drinks while we still had not even been acknowledged for an order. We even told staff we were ready to order, but when our server came near our area, he went straight to a larger party seated after us and began taking their drink orders instead. He then walked right past us without saying anything. At that point, we left. I wanted to try the food because it genuinely looked good, but the service experience was frustrating and unacceptable, especially after being the first customers seated. Two stars because the food may be good, but the service made it impossible to stay.
