And, I fully intend to go back for it. OPL is such local popular fun hang out pub/ bar. It serves great drinks, casual dining, and host many cool awesome live music venues & local line dancing events. What I like most here is the clean and huge outdoor areas both front and the back of the bar. It's perfect for a sunny day or a foggy evening! Delicious food can be ordered by the side of the bar. Went in and asked if we were in the right place, was told 'come on in', plenty of seating for 500. We went into the bar and maybe 25-30 could squeeze into the bartop tables. The front area had 4-5 tables and then a huge outdoor area but it was cold and windy. I used the disgusting bathroom and we decided to go somewhere else. read more

The best! There is nothing about this place that has become Carmelized like many of the shops and restaurants in HMB. OPL has character, not a sanitized like most of HMB has/is beginning. Recently there was a restaurant at the harbor below OPL that was drastically upscaled. Not happy to just have a restaurant with tourist food they added a fish market and cantina. Within a short time they could not pay their rent which was blamed on the husbands illness, yet the Ketch had become part of a larger group. read more

We had our dog with us and asked if it was ok to bring them in, the dude at the bar had super attitude and said "in the back" without making eye contact like he was sawpped with customers, even tho there were 3 people at the bar, and a guy WITH A DOG at his feet. We went out back and ordered a beer and our glass was dirty and the beer had stuff floating at the bottom. I was just there today trying to spend some time until my bf got off work. I like to play pool, so I was disappointed when I got there and the pool tables shown on the website aren't actually there. Since it was lunchtime I got lunch ($10 Tip on a $17 order). Got a drink- $10 tip on a $12.15 drink. Played with the owner's lovely dog - Australian cow dog several times. I asked the owner if I could bring my Australian shepherd (she was in the car) in for a few minutes to play with his dog. He said no, but I could take my dog out back and he would let his dog out to play. As I walked out to my car, I finally got the message. If I was 20, and weighed 100 lb, me and my dog prob could have stayed until closing. But 100 more lbs and 45yr later, not treated that way in this supposed "pet friendly" place. So good that people are free in this country to show what dipshits they are. FIX YOUR FUCKING WEBSITE YOU PRICK. It needs to reflect what u have and your actual attitudes. read more

Unrelated rant: The restroom for customer use is in the bar attached next door to the restaurant and the Men's room was Out Of Order. Women's room was in service. Lucky I just wanted to wash my hands. No employees in sight to ask advice from on how to clean up here after eating deep fried fish and chips ( AKA fries). My friend returned his burger and they did redo it, but gave him the wrong burger -- it was med and he wanted well done. I know I should not be getting a salad at a bar and it was decent enough lightly dressed. That said, the back patio is super nice and great to relax and listen to some music. Stopped in just before the kitchen closed to grab a late dinner. While the bar is open later (11:00pm), the kitchen closes at 9:00pm. The staff were gracious and accommodating as we ordered the last food for the night. You order food in the kitchen, they give you a buzzer, and you find a table in the bar area. When your food is ready, you get buzzed. We were in the mood for a burger and the cook recommended we try the Markgard family grass fed burger with fries over their standard burger. And thus we did. The Markgard family grass fed burger come with tomato, lettuce and a choice of cheese. I opted for no cheese. The meat was juicy and delicious! The fries were fresh cut style and were fairly standard and seemed to lose their crispness a bit too quickly. Everything in this area seems a bit pricey, as two burgers with fries cost us about $50 (with tip). Yikes! Nonetheless, the grass fed burger was fabulous and the service was friendly, patient, and helpful. I'd recommend the place. read more
