I was running errands around Glen Cove area and wanted a few hot dogs. I stopped by and ordered a sauerkraut with mustard and a chili dog light cheese. There were super friendly and helpful. I slid into a table and only ate 1/2 the order. The dogs had a snap and the buns weee warm. The chili dog was quite messy in a good way, and i needed a fork and knife to eat. It also tasted better the next day because I was only able to eat half. Definitely a great spot if your craving a classic dog or chili dog. read more

I haven't been to this spot in a minute so I thought I'd slide thru, so here I am. This spot is an iconic V-town staple that's been here for a while. If you're a Vallejo native, you know wassup. I ordered a cajun dog and a cheese dog. Both are very solid and get the job done. The customer service here is excellent. The staff here is very kind and friendly. The inside of the restaurant is small with limited seating. The place can get packed pretty quickly as well. Many of the times I came here, there were be a line out the door. I planned on eating only half and saving the other half for later, but it was too delicious, I devoured my chili cheese dog in one go! $12.56 total for the super chili cheese dog. I love that they use freshly shredded cheese instead of the pre shredded. The service is always on point too, very friendly, pleasant and prompt! This place has been on my Hotdog hit list for a while and it didn't disappoint. I thought it was going to be Caspers type place but with it's own branding. I found it was different in 3 major ways: 1) The hotdog was not Caspers, they have a sign saying they feature Schwarz fine sausage. The dog pretty much looks like capers length and ehh umm ..gurth ;) but the flavor was completely different. It was more smoky, a little denser, and a bit snappier on the caseing. Possible all beef, not sure. Really good stuff (5 Stars) 2) The chilly was beefy, not just beans like Caspers. This was real chili (no heat thou) but meaty with good flavor. 3) Fresh grated sharp cheddar cheese The rest of the stuff was like Caspers, the buns, the topping (except cheese and chilli as noted). They slice their tomatoes and onions the same, with chopped onions as well. I ordered: The Original Tasty Dog (5 Stars) comes with sliced onions, sliced tomatoes, relish and mustard...just like Caspers. Super Chilly Cheese Dog (5 Stars) without relish. They packet on the cheese and chilli, so good but not really need. A few people in line ordered light cheese and chili. I think all do the same next time. I haven't been to Sac's since the new ownership (actually 16 years) and I was so pleased with my visit. Let me tell you, it's so lovely being greeted when we walked in. The crew is so nice, and the Manager Darnell is a Vallejo fixture. If your child ever worked in food or beverage at Six Flags between the mid 90's to the 2020's, they worked for him. I got the number 1 combo, a Sacs dog with chips and a soda, and hubby got the #3 Chili Dog also with chips and soda. Let me tell you, having fresh tomatoes and onions makes a world of difference. Each Tomato and onion was had sliced by Elena, who has been a fixture for decades, which is hard to believe. We loved our lunch and the great service. Pretty tasty dog, but holy cow the serving is huge! I ordered a chili cheese dog and they do not joke about the chili lol. You will need utensils to eat the hotdogs here. The lady was incredibly helpful, although I found it strange that the first thing they asked was if we wanted chips and a drink - maybe just to get ahead of the order? The restaurant itself is SUPER vintage and cute. I loved the aesthetic of it. It is small, but definitely homey. They also have souvenirs which is really cool. For as long as I've been living in Vallejo, nothing has changed one bit! The decor of Vallejo's hxtory is still up, probably even added a little more, too! The tables are still fun and bright orange. The staff is still friendly and even with different faces (as in different staff), their system is awesome! They prepare your order(s) with so much ease, so much quickness! As of Nov 2021, my latest visit, they are taking orders to-go only. No worries tho, just eat in your car if you can't wait. Keep in mind of the street Sac's is located on though- a busy main street where some drivers are just... well, not the best. My friend that lives in Vallejo brought me here for a quick bite on a Saturday afternoon. It's a super small worn down shop on the side of the expressway. They have a small parking lot in the back and we were able to find parking easily. The line curled to the outside of the store but it went by super quick. The workers were really efficient and fast at what they do! I got the spicy chili cheese dog w/ chili on the side & a root beer float. I HIGHLY recommend getting the chili on the side if you're not going to be eating it in that exact moment. They lather on so much chili and cheese that it ends up becoming really messy and difficult to eat if you don't eat it right away. I love how the hot dog itself was a bit spicy and the amount of cheese that they lathered on really cut through the richness of the chili. This is definitely a meal that you don't eat too often!
