    Bibimbap

If you aren't actively looking for this place, it's actually really easy to miss. Ordered a few items just to try them out. Picked up the calamari, shrimp tempura and eggplant tempura for appetizers. They come pre-sauced which isn't to my liking, but it wasn't too bad. I'm not big on sweet sauces and there was unagi/teriyaki sauce drizzled up top. Ordered the bibimbap and it was almost salad like. It came with a heaping amount of lettuce which I'm not particularly used to. But there was more lettuce than there was rice. There wasn't enough flavor to me, nor was I given any additional sauces to add. Ie-sesame oil or red pepper sauce. So that was a slight disappointment The stir fried noodles were just ok to me. I ordered it in a medium spice and there wasn't enough spice.

My family has been coming here for almost 40 years! Food is amazing and the staff is always friendly :) HUGE portions of food as well! Definitely a must try if you are looking for something authentic!

Let's start off with the pros: -Server is nice -food was good -tables were clean Cons of MY experience: -Took 5-7min to receive my water after asking (not busy+everyone has been served but me) -My waiter never once came to check up on me during my whole dining experience (didn't need anything during my meal, but would've been nice to get checked up on it if I needed/wanted anything) -Felt like I was eating a chicken katsu instead of Sesame chicken (really minor issue to me, but guess was expecting a more traditional version of Sesame chicken) Price was okay. Got a lot of meat, but at the price of ~$20+tip. Guess my only main complaint is service. No pros to note about the food/price ratio for this particular order.

Found this place on YELP close to the Justice Center where we had an appointment. Don't let the location scare you away. It is right next to a gas station and a couple other buildings. We noticed they had a lot of take out orders. The menus are already on the table, so we were ready to order when the waitress came to our table. My husband had a Noodle Bowl and I had a Teriyaki Chicken box. My husband loved his dish and mine was also delicious and there was so much, I had enough for lunch the next day. We were really happy we took the advice of YELP and stopped here for lunch. You will not be disappointed.

This restaurant is located near a cross street to Folsom Blvd between Howe and Watt. Normally, it's very easy to pass by and never notice it or the bagel place 2 doors down from it. However, I was actively scanning for a takeout meal after work. I stopped here for the teriyaki short ribs lunch plate and the salmon teriyaki to-go. I waited outside while the food was prepared (This being the era of the pandemic). I had never been here before. I've been making a point of trying new places for take-home lunches. This place was a nice surprise. The serving portion size was decent. The short ribs were savory, hot, and very delectable. Umami satisfying. The salmon was pretty good, as well. I would not hesitate to stop here again if in the mood for teriyaki meals.

Small mom and pop shop sitting next to a gas station on Folsom Blvd. Easy to miss. Parking is really limited but we were lucky to get one in the lot rather than the side street. They serve Korean/Japanese menu items. I finally came here after reading all the good reviews. I knew I was getting the sizzling beef bibimbap. It was great as others in our party enjoyed the salmon bibimbap, jalapeno and mushroom tempura as well. The owner was really nice and took good care of us. I would definitely come back to try other items like noodle dishes, noodle soups and bento boxes.

This took me a while to decide on the stars I was going to give. It was either going to be 2 or 3 but I decided to do 2 SOLELY because of the customer service. The food is a complete 5 star!! So I've been coming here for many many months now. The first time I've ever came here the expierence was amazing. The lady was extremely welcoming to me, sweet, had the biggest smile on her face and everything! I did make a review after that expierence and I gave it a total of 5 Unfortunatly, the next time after that and the time after that and that... the customer expierence was horrible. The smile was gone and her friendliness was gone. I was so confused. Did we not tip her enough last time? Did we say something wrong to her? Did she have a traggic life event happen that scewed her personality THAT much? For example: she never smiles anymore, she mugs me boyfriend and I from afar, she'll try to kick us out of the restaurant 30 min before they close, never refills our water, asked if we can have straws and never brings them to us. We felt like we were such a burden to her life! To the point where when we needed siracha sauce we were like fuck this I'm just going to get up and find it myself. I feel like this bothers me greatly because we give her so much of our business because their food is so damn delicious but damn that customer service she gives us should be freaking illegal!

Calamari! Cooked to perfection! Not rubbery at all. This has 6 pieces in total. Couldn't snap the pic in time.

    No egg on the bibimbap?

It's a little different from a traditional dol sot bibimbap so you won't find a sunny side egg in there, but I think there is egg -- thin strips of omelette style egg, kind of like what you'd find in a Korean or Japanese rolled omelette.

They have a variety of different fusion flavors that all tie to Korean cuisine. A must get is for sure their Booty Booldak; other than the fun name lol, it's served with crispy taters and cheese melted on top. I also tried their Kimchi Karbonara for the first time! It was good, but I wished there were more noodles, because we were left with a lot of bacon bits in the end. Our server, Sierra, was so sweet! She was welcoming and friendly, and we even had great conversations with her. She was also quick at serving us and getting what we needed.

Apparently that night was their 3 (?) year anniversary, so not sure if this is always the case but they did have a whole live DJ on the main floor. When we arrived there were a couple other tables dining. There isn't much seating inside, and most of the tables ended up being blocked off for bottle service lol Me and my girl were there to eat so we ordered as many dishes as our tiny table could handle! Kimchi Carbonara - TBH this tasted like spaghetti... with some kimchi and bacon. It wasn't bad, but it tasted exactly the way I described it. They should just take the carbonara out of the dish's name completely. I wouldn't order it again, just cause the bacon flavor was really smokey and strong. Spicy wings - These were actually really good! Served with pickled jalapenos, pickled radish, and a cabbage salad! Just make sure you get some rice on the side. The wing sauce was spicy! Not overly, but just enough. It was sweet but not too sweet. I would recommend! Mandu- Decent. Not spectacular, but a good side to round out your meal. The dipping sauce was yummy, a nice sweet soy. Pink Venom - The flavor was so good. Tasted like a pink starburst. If you like sweet drinks, this one is it! Didn't taste the alcohol at all though. Parking sucks so bad, we had to park a couple blocks away and cross some train tracks but we made it! The waiters were so nice and checked up on us even with the whole party going on. The bouncers though didn't pass the vibe check and I didn't really like that we got IDed so many times. We're in our mid 30s lol.. be frr. The whole vibe is fun, they have a full bar and apparently in the back room, it's another bar/lounge scene. It wasn't that type of night for me, but I would come back to eat and hang out if I was in the area. Keep in mind though, the crowd is early 20s!

First of all, the food served is exactly like the photos. I got the short rib bun burger and bulgogi gyoza. The burger (omg) had a balance of sweet and salty but also a little spicy. Halfway through I noticed something yellow, it was a pineapple! Usually I have mixed feelings about pineapple with foods like pizza. But this complimented so well. Now, the gyoza. Crispy and you can't go wrong with bulgogi. What I was surprised with was inside I think it was japchae! If you like Korean food like me, I was so excited to see this twist. And yes it was yummy. I seem to get lucky most times and get to meet the owners. That day I met them and they're so nice! I can tell they put a lot of thought into the menu, ingredients, decor, etc. The owners are Japanese and Korean. Hence KoJa! Even this detail was really impressive. I ended up going back because the owner told me that his wife (also owner) created Yang Nyum and it was really good and popular. So I got Yang Nyum, kamikaze fries, and taro boba. The portions were great. But most of all, he was right about Yang Nyum, delicious! I didn't realize the kamikaze fries had beef, so yummy but I definitely overate that day, lol. One other thing I really liked was you could order at the register or kiosk. This is a great way to avoid lines. Once you order they have a screen that shows your ETA (why do other restaurants not have this?). I did go during the day though. So, I can only imagine how amazing it looks at night. Especially after dancing or bar hopping, the food here would pair well. Koja also sells alcohol too though and apparently downstairs is where the dancing is at. Will I go here again, absolutely.

Love the coconut rice, The pork was so delicious and the fried wonton in the middle was a crafty decision and adds a little crunch when bitting into it. Best way to eat it is to pick it up and bite into it like you would a burger to get the full effect. They do give you plastic utensils for it, but I didn't use them. 5 Overall: 4 Definitely will go back to try more items on the menu!

Pickled jalapeños, lime, peppers, chopsticks and napkins at the bar/tables. Lemongrass Pork Noodle: the fish sauce with tiny peppers was a nice amount of spice, pork well-marinated & well-cooked, decent amount of lettuce and cucumber My main critique is that the protein serving felt smaller; i was very hungry- didn't eat breakfast, didn't have coffee yet - and i didn't end feeling super full. $21 out the door felt a bit pricier. That being said,y taste buds were happy and I thought the overall value was good. I plan to be back if I am in the area and I recommend checking this spot out if you are near. I ordered the BBQ Beef Cupbop. I didn't know what to expect. As it turns out the bottom layer is white rice, next is a layer of glass noodles, then comes the can corned, a mixture of cabbage, and topped with the BBQ Beef. It was very tasty. A little on the spicy side, which made it just more flavorful. It wasn't mouth watering or eye tearing hot. It just had a little kick. The consistency of the meat reminded me of ground beef. It was very finely chopped strips. Overall it was really good. Very filling for the amount you get. It's more than we usually have for lunch. My husband had the chicken soy ginger. I had some and it was really good, but fried, so probably not as healthy as the BBQ Beef. It doesn't appear that they cook to order any food here, but they do scoop to order. From what I could see they sell a variety of Cupbop flavors, including a vegetarian option. They also sell sandwiches, salads, and a burrito. They have an ice water dispenser at the end of the counter with water cups. The vibe was interesting. You are surrounded by state worker from all different agencies all minding their own business. Many groups of 2-6 were eating together. There were less singles than groups.
