I just rented a space there yesterday, and it was a very pleasant experience. The facility is clean and well-maintained. A bonus is the free e-waste collection. Everyone I dealt with was great. Professional, accommodating, timely, accurate, complete in all dealings. I changed my reservation 3 times, and they handled each change without any problems. Great customer service from Michael, Jessica, and (I forget!! But she was also very good.). Rates are fair and competitive. Go online to make your reservation - there are offers for discounts that you can get by reserving online. Free moving truck to help you move your stuff in. It's also available to rent for a decent price. The truck is relatively new, clean, and in perfect working order. And you get the appliance dolly to use for free with the truck. Originally, I rented my unit thinking I would only use it for 3-4 months tops. Well, it's been a couple of years now. I guess the reason I am still there is because, my Saf Keep Storage location is new, clean, super convenient. And for the most part, I consider it a good deal. I feel my stuff is safe and I feel secure with the level of passcodes and cameras. The inside units are well lit and always CLEAN! The people in the office are helpful and friendly! This facility is hands down the safest, cleanest, and most reliable storage center in town. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly, and exceptional at providing the best customer service around. I was previously renting a unit from the Public Storage facility a few blocks down, and their facility was completely run down and undependable; I was far from comfortable storing my belongings in their unit, especially after an employee mentioned that break-ins happen occasionally. The staff members themselves also seemed a bit unreliable; I felt that I could not trust them. Feeling completely unsafe with using the Public Storage unit, I started looking for other options; I'm so glad I decided to look for a different storage facility, and have been fortunate to find Saf Keep Storage. My comfort level and experience at Saf Keep was completely opposite from Public Storage; simply put, it was the most positive and reassuring experience I've had so far. I will give this customer service manager a zero if I could. I went into the store with my wife to rent a storage unit, and was met with an attitude of an FBI agent. She acted as though I was storing something that was illegal, and was hesitant to rent the storage unit to my wife and I. To make a long story short, she engaged into a back and forth argument with my wife and I, then the manger stated that she doesn't have to rent to me. Afterwards, she let me know that she was having a bad day, and the catalyst for her attitude was due to the fact that that the rest of her team members had called off for the weekend and she was forced to work. So, I was made to be the punching bag for her having to work and being understaffed. Typical white privilege comments were added, such as, " I was speaking in an aggressive/assaultive tone". After renting the storage unit, I find my wife, once again engaged in a confrontation with the same lady, after attempting to apologize for the previous situation that had transpired, but she could not accept the humble attitude my wife had approached her with, and was still enraged, continued to use my wife as the punching bag, and then threatened to call the authorities on my wife. I would think as a manger she would have been trained more in using deescalation tactics, but apparently not. Thank you to Clayton, the maintenance man, who had to take over for the manger, who couldn't control her attitude to complete the transaction. read more

I rent a space for all those boxes of tax records and for supplies I buy in bulk that won't fit at my primary business. I also have portable makeup and hair stations that I take to those "on location" jobs. I store thousands worth in makeup that melts in heat. I've been renting from this place for years, and left for one month last August. I shopped long and hard--we have quite a few options in this area. I settled on a storage close to my new home. The unit at the new place got so hot that I had to leave. The heat takes a toll on stuff. Going to my storage unit on hot days to turn on a fan or open the doors just does not work. I can't risk losing that much on a day I might not be around to get there. I shopped a few more places and ended up back at Saf Keep. Not only is the staff excellent, but the location and material that the walls are made from will keep the storage rooms at a temperature that is better suited for storage of just about anything. Let me start off w/ this...I currently live in San Jose. Yes San Jose. I started looking for a storage place in the early bit of 2007. When I went with the thought of calling Saf Keep Storage, I didn't notice the place was in Fremont. After speaking to a staff rep about my needs and prices (which I was clueless on what to ask), I was encouraged (not pushed) to take a look at the unit. I was greeted by their staff, shown a couple of different units that may fit my needs, and given information on the truck rental they offer. I haven't visited the unit since I moved my stuff in. Just recently (Nov 28,2009) I went to the unit and realized I didn't know the unit #, weather the lock was key of combination, and the code to get in it. I was reassured by a kind male staff, I was waived the $15 fee and given a new lock all for the price of $0. Can you ask for a better staff and a better company mission statement? I'd think not. The environment is extremely clean and the people there are always opened to questions. We went through a handful of storages until we ran into Saf Keep and it was automatically our top choice. The facility is also very secure. One of its greatest features is that the building has cement floors on the second floor so even heavy items can be stored there. Many storages we have visited before were built out of wood so storing our items on the second floor wasn't possible. read more
