    Kids meal

The kids meal was very good; the service was also amazing. I almost immediately got my food! Very painent and polite, I eat here every time!!! Would recommend

Very good burgers, the fries were made fresh. Great customer service and the surroundings were clean and the best part was we were eating by the ducks.

buffalo chicken sandwich on the bottom

Best buffalo chicken sandwich I've ever had. It was chicken with buffalo sauce, lettuce, and melted cheese served on brioche buns. It tasted amazing dipped in their side of ranch. Also came with a side of fries. Not only that but this seemed to be the only easily accessible place that had the frozen minute maid lemonade, both regular and strawberry. I had gone around asking several employees where I could get the frozen lemonade and they had told me it was on the opposite side of the zoo, until i came across safari kitchen which is actually right by the front entrance. There were also lots of tables and shade provided.

Thought it was pretty good, my girlfriend thought it was spectacular. She recommends the buffalo chicken sandwich (don't forget the ranch) and frozen lemonade. She claimed it was the greatest chicken sandwich she ever ate and would actually go into the park just to eat there. She wouldn't even need to look at the animals.

Pretty damn good for zoo food. My daughter had chicken strips with fries and the tenders were all breast meat with a light crispy and crunchy breading. The fries left a lot to be desired but it just needed salt. I had the potato twister which pretty tasty especially considered it was smothered in smoky bacon. 4 out of 5 stars meaning a B seems adequate.

Our orders were taken quickly, and large waters with lemon were brought out to us. Our burgers came out in about 7 minutes and they were just what the doctor ordered. :) My chicken burger was especially delicious, and I'd asked for extra pickles, and let's just say that the Hodad's chefs did not disappoint. There had to be at least 15 pickles on this bad boy. YUM! Onion rings were crispy and delicious. M. loved his burger and as usual, his only complaint was that he wished it was bigger. Haha. We enjoyed our food and the fun, kitschy Hodad's dining area. I feel like every time I come here, I spot something on the walls, or dangling from somewhere, that I haven't seen before. It's always a good time at Hodad's and it is certainly worth a visit if you haven't been here before. Keep in mind they do have a limited menu (burgers, chicken burgers, veggie burgers, fries, rings, shakes & some beverages and beers.) However, the table next to us ordered shakes and they looked hella good. Next time for us, for sure!! Mahalo!

The menu was a bit confusing, but I know that I like grilled veggies and Greek salad and then Ike was able to pick my protein that I wanted so that seemed easy enough. The base price with falafel or chicken Shawarma was Close to $16 but since I chose the meat, they added two dollars to my total. It took about 10 minutes for them to assemble my meal, but my veggies were cooked fresh on the stove, which was really nice. They tasted very freshly cooked just as they would as if I had cooked them myself at home. I was there about 1245 on a Monday and there were a few people there and they had some takeout orders so my order took about 10 minutes before I could walk out the door with it. They had a nice condiment bar where you could pick out some yogurt with dill sauce and then they're famous garlic yogurt sauce, as well as a jalapeño sauce And another spicy hot one that I would never try. When I got back to the jury room to eat my meal, I saw that there was a nice quantity of the fresh salad and the grilled vegetables but the meat was piled high! The employees were working efficiently and the place was spotless and orderly.

If you are interested in a creative chicken sando spot with more than just a couple options, this is the place. Firebird: The ingredients are top notch. They start with a big plump Jidori chicken thigh. Known as the wagyu of chicken, the fried Jidori chicken has tremendous flavor, and is firm and juicy. Also, extra points for chicken thight - always. There is a hint of spiciness which they balance with a cool ranch sauce. The potato roll is the best bun for a sandwich, nice, dense, and spongy. The crispy onions and pickles seal the deal. As a sauce lover, this is my happy place. They have a rotating assortment of delicious sauces, perfect for dunking every single bite. Parking: You may have to circle a bit, but you should find a spot on one of the side streets.

The chicken sandwich was crunchy and flavorful, but it was not spicy one bit. I believe that the restaurant should allow its customers to choose a spice level. That is the point of the hot chicken, but it was still perfectly enjoyable. The great thing is that they are not stingy with the sauces and have a sauce bar where you are not handcuffed to small packets of sauce you get elsewhere. If you want to watch a game and grab a drink too, they have a bar area and they also have a small area where kids can play. Definitely a great spot.

This place has a VAST difference in service, swiftness, ambiance, and level of customer service compared to the location in Coronado. I literally LOVE the La Jolla location. The workers are always nice, always accommodating, and having common sense. Please fix this as the other location is way better. I'd rather go all the way to Coronado (I work downtown) rather than deal with the bad service and quality of experience that you receive at this location.
