Well, I came here years ago and left feeling the food was average. We came back tonight because I heard the wings are good. I ordered wings, but got the wrong type. So I can't recommend the wings. My wife's order of London Broil was also wrong and both took an excessive amount of time to arrive. The side order of fries was truly the best thing we had for dinner. Been here several times. No two times are the same. Food varies from visit to visit. Don't know if it is the cook/chef. One visit it's the best ever next time just average. When they are good they are great. To bad I do a lot of carry out so can't complain on the bad days. While eating in I love the ribs. On a good day they are fall off the bone tender. Next visit they are all dried out like they have been kept warm for HOURS. I usually love this place and do recommend it. But have had terrible experiences. I am not the complaining type and have never spoke up. Even had one visit that I had to remind our waitress every little thing. Such as bringing what we ordered, our drinks, silverware. We live in Charlotte and have driven to Denver several times to eat at Safari Miles, depending on which waitress you get, depends on the service. Several of the waitresses are awesome. The food has always been exceptional, which leads me to explain only giving Safari 1 star. I witnessed the rudest, unprofessional behavior out of the owner towards a customer the other night, He was raising his voice so the entire section could hear. Overhearing the entire debate the customer was being very polite, sincere and was in the right. The owner was being brash and going the the point of calling the customer a liar. I went here for dinner on a Saturday night and there was not wait, which was perfect. The waitress was great, and the food was delicious. I had the blackened grouper, it was cooker to perfection, not over seasoned and nice and flakey. My friend had the broiled grouper and it was cooked perfect and had a great flavor too. I continue to be disappointed by Safari Miles and will not be going back again. Since we live in Denver there is only one or two "nice" places to eat. From the outside Safari Miles looks like it could be good. We have visited several times giving them several chances to prove themselves to us. The service has been lacking in the past and another time we had an entire table (6 people) worth of the saltiest food I have every eaten. This last visit we tried to use a small coupon that came from the local high school booster club. We presented the coupon before we ordered so it was not a surprise. The waiter informed us that even though we ordered two large dinners, apps, and drinks that we could not use the coupon. Apparently ordering a "special" from the chalkboard placard cancels your coupon. Keep in mind this coup was only for $5 off a meal over $25. After debating with the waiter he informed us that the owner had turned down our second request to use the discount. Basically, this moron was willing to lose a customer and receive a negative review on sites like this over a $5 discount. Save yourself some time and go to Chillfire or Midtown Sundries instead. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants for their grilled bone in wings!!! They are always hot and have a great flavor. The beer is always cold and the service very fast and friendly. Ordered food to go, they completely got the order wrong. I called them and they said to bring it back and get a new one. I told them I'm a half hour away, he said oh really? What's your address? This was the second time we visited this restaurant.....2nd chances right? We had a birthday in the family and Safari Miles is the half way point for both the family coming from Charlotte and Newton. We sat down and ordered standard drinks. Everyone had to repeat their drinks. We were sitting in the back so it was quiet. We ordered dinner, which some came with salads. The salads came and they were lovely....... Then nothing. Nothing for almost an hour. Since we were in the back no one was coming our way to check in. The birthday boy got up and went and stood near the kitchen entrance and waited on someone to come out. FINALLY they came out and checked on us and the waitress said she forgot to fire our food after the salads. HONEST mistake. Food quickly came out, but it was cold. As so the night wasn't completely shot, I ordered a desert for the birthday boy. It was ok. But after 2 1/2 hours the check came. No I'm sorry. No "let me comp your 1 desert." No nothing. We were only a party of 6 with NO special orders. We WILL NOT BE BACK. read more

I have been to Safari Miles many times. I love the food and the service is usually good. Last night was bad.....The food was good as always but our server didn't even mention Specials we had to ask and I felt like I knew more than her. I told her that Thursdays is Specials and she said well let me go look. She didn't even give us her name. She was short and not friendly at all. I felt I was being rushed, she stood over me when I received the bill. I wasn't going to give her the greatest tip but being she was behind me I gave her 18% which I feel she didn't really deserve. I will go back because I love the food and the atmosphere but I will make sure she is not my server again. read more

New to the area so I stopped in mid afternoon just to see what the place was all about. It was fairly quiet and the hostess greeted me when I walked. I sat at the bar and she let me know I could order anything I liked there. Bar tender was nice and made the usual chat. I had a cold beer and tried the southwestern egg rolls which were tasty. I was told it's $2.00 pints on Tues and Thurs. I will check in again to try dinner and see what the bar top looks like later at night. read more

the food at this restaurant is always excellent... but that's if you can get someone to help you. my family and I have visited this place multiple times and always get terrible service. our visit this time was even worse. we weren't even greeted by the hostess upon walking in... they were too busy talking to each other. after finally getting seated, we don't get greet by a waitress for more than 15 minutes even though many walked by. for the long story short.. no silverware, drinks empty, no manager even around.. something really needs to be done. my family and I won't be going back to this restaurant for a very long time or ever! read more

WORST experience at a restaurant in my lifetime. My wife and I ordered the spinach and artichoke dip. The taste was not to our liking and we kindly requested to send back the appetizer. Within a few minutes, the owners relative came out with an aggressive and offensive approach upset that we did not like the dip that she made personally. It was unprofessional to take offense and approach my wife and I in a disrespectful way because the dish was not to our liking. To make matters worse the waitress informed us they would still charge us for the appetizer and at that point we decided to pay and close out. I thought of disputing the charge but the waitress would have been responsible for paying for the dish and I didn't feel it was fair to hold her accountable. Proper management and etiquette is strongly recommend. We were first time customers and I would never recommend this establishment to my colleagues or friends. read more

Absolutely Horrible experience, We have lived her for close to three years now. We go out almost every night,especially in summer. We went once when we first moved saw the outrageous prices and left immediately. We went back two days ago cause we thought we would give it a chance and there are not many places around. We sat down and they didn't have the beverages listed in the menu. Then we ordered the spinach artichoke dip which came out in a bread bowl that had like two ounces of dip with some corn chips I swear I saw at Aldi's grocery. It was sour and lumpy,but we went ahead and ordered. Our waitress seemed drunk. My kids asked for crayons. The server said they were out and the manager was out of town and didn't order any. So we ordered NY strip Prime rib and two kids sirloins. The salad tasted old and bitter the onion soup looked like the toilet bowl from that movie Trainspotting I tasted it and almost vomited at that point we had decided to pay for our food we had eaten and go elsewhere. So then the server returns with the en tree's. She quickly slides them on the table and ran off before we asked for the check. The meat was grey and looked worse that a waffle house steak which are kinda good if properly cooked,but there people were charging $23 bucks for this. I honestly felt kinda insulted that they tried to pass this off as edible. My husband took one taste bite and spit it out. The server came back we asked for check for appetizer and drinks and salad. She sent the slime Greek owner over and he asked us what was he suppose to do with the food we ordered and stated that he could not re-serve the food! Needless to say I was shocked. So did he "re-serve" that grey meat to us? So he said fine the server gave us a check for 15 bucks for what we ate. We gave her our bank card. Bad idea she was gone for 25 minutes. Then another woman came back to the table and said there is some confusion over what the charges will be as she is staring at all the food still on the table. I was baffled at her confusion. My husband proceeded to explain she disagreed. At this point my kids are freaked out my husband has steam coming out his ears. She said because the food has been served that we are to pay full price? She said maybe we should call the law so I did because they refused to give back our bank card. The officer showed up. It seemed a familiar scenario for him. So we explained and he agreed and retrieved our card for us as the owner is yelling at him and his wife is back there saying how everyone wants to eat for free. The officer said that keeping our card was larceny. So we wanted to pay for what we ate.The bill of 15 dollars so we gave the card back and she brought back a receipt for 55 dollars in front of the officer and he asked why she did that? At that point my kids are in tears so I take them to the car. Soon my husband comes out with two bank charges we had to deal with. She had the audacity to ask for his card again to refund the balance the officer looked at her like the mental defect she was. He instructed us to call our bank from home. So we had to cancel that card. Sure wish we had cash on us. Later at another local restaurant we were told more horror stories about how previously employees were treated and arson for insurance fraud of two previous restaurants and MOB ties. I was advised to call the health inspector! I don't see how anyone could consume anything there, maybe it's the booze? Some people just eat anything. My husband was sick from the one taste bite of grey steak. What a nightmare! If you care about your gut and your bank account never go here. read more

We have been going there 1-2 times a months for quite a while and although the service has never been stellar, the food was usually good but has been going downhill lately (limp vegetables, smaller portions). Tonight was a different story! We stopped on our way home from the airport after a weeklong trip, tired and hungry. The server told us that wings were half-price tonight so we ordered a dozen to share. Husband ordered the prime rib, I ordered a burger, fries and a salad. We got the wings and ate 6 of them but realized we'd be too full to eat dinner so we put the remaining ones aside. Husband got his salad and then the waitress left. She didn't return until our meals were ready. When I asked for my salad, she said I hadn't ordered one. Yes, I did. She offered to go get one but I declined and decided to just eat my burger and fries. The fries were COLD, had to ask a different server to please get some hot ones for me. I ate half of my burger (it was a little greasy) and asked for a take home box. I was informed that if I took home my leftover wings, I'd be charged full price for them. WHAT??! I couldn't take home the food I'd purchased? Why were we not told this? Why is it not posted????? Spoke to the manager who acted like I was trying to steal from them. He was rude and patronizing, explaining that they don't make money on the food just the drinks. Talked to me like I was an idiot. Poorly run place and I should know...I have a Bachelor degree in food service and have worked in restaurants for almost 30 years. I said we wouldn't be back and he didn't care. So....loyal, return business was lost for the sake of 6 chicken wings. Ridiculous! PS: We wll not be returning and will no longer recommend this place. read more
