We booked Safari Run for my son's birthday this past weekend and we had a blast! The staff at Safari Run are very polite, knowledgeable, and helpful. They took care of everything so that we really didn't have to lift a single finger at the party and could just relax and have fun with the kids or talking with the other parents! All we did was bring some extra cold food platters, goodie bags, and the birthday cake to the door. Safari Run took care of everything else (food storage and refrigeration, setup, serving the kids, lighter for the candles, cleanup, etc.)!! The Safari Run rules for hosting parties are very clear and easy to follow, and the staff were always available when I called. The parties are scheduled so that your child's party never shares the same space with another child's party, even when they are being hosted at the same time (We were in the main open play area while another child's party was finishing out in the arcade room, and when we moved into the dining room, another child's party was starting in the main open play area.). That being said, once you leave one section of the party, you don't get to stay longer because you are only allowed to stay for a certain amount of time. It helps to make sure the party doesn't drag on, but if guests arrive late and miss the play time in the open space, they unfortunately don't have the opportunity to go back and play, because another child's party may be taking place! My kids love this place! I love that it's always clean. They even make the kids wash their hands before playing - the sinks are right near the shoe cubbies. The slides are always a hit for the preschoolers and there is a separate toddler area. I love how they have cctvs in the toddler area so you can also keep an eye on the older kid side. It's very helpful when the kids are in two different age ranges. The staff members are also very helpful and involved. The only drawback is the arcade room. I feel like the price per play went up a little and it takes several coins per game. The prizes are good though and my kids love playing in here... we usually spend $5 in tokens for two kids. read more

First off I want to say I was very excited about Safari Run. I went right after they opened and was told about a discount card valid for 6 months and it could be used at any time. Well since then there has been only Birthday parties on the weekends and as a working mom going on a weekday isn't possible. So I try to go on MLK day and of course they don't honor the discount card. I tried talking to the teenage employee but she was worthless. The owner or manager was not far behind her and did nothing either. My kids were so disappointed as was I. So FYI for working mom's, skip this place and spend your money elsewhere. read more

I took my 19 month old here this morning and we loved it! The place is very clean! We showed up right at 9:30 when they opened so we had the place to ourselves with 2 other kids. So fun!! I took my little one here (3 years old) a few times and she LOVES it so much she doesn't want to leave! I love that its big enough for adults to climb with the kids. We started in toddler room but by the end were braving the bigger structure without any issues. The staff are very friendly and super helpful. They set up, serve, & clean up! I was able to just enjoy the party. One thing I didn't realize until later was that they provide (italicize provide) beverages. So the cost of drinks is in addition to the party fee. Can also order food from them for additional cost but are allowed to bring two store bought cold trays plus cake. Because my party was in morning, I brought a tray of muffins and a tray of fruit from Corner Bakery and this was plenty. Party is structured so first hour is playtime then 40 minutes for food/cake. Best place to host a kid's bday in the Plano area. Parties are private so you aren't having to share the space with others, which is awesome for your guests. The play area is very clean and well kept. The party rooms are the most spacious I've seen at similar places that host parties. They also have multiple attendants in the party room so the parents can sit and relax with the kids while pizza/cake is served. They also do a great job entertaining the kids while getting everything set up. Arcade is always well maintained and clean as well, with all machines working all the time. The owners and staff are incredible helpful and the space is well laid out. I was at a private event here but I feel like even during public hours it would be less chaotic than some similar facilities. They serve Campisi' for party packages which is a plus. Definitely set up for family fun with nice couches for parents to lounge and keep an eye on the kiddos. Here's even a monitor into the large play room from the toddler area for those keeping an eye on multiple ages. Took a look at the brochure and doesn't seem to offer any party package less than 20 kid guests which seems like a lot of kids to me (maybe it's not. I haven't gotten that far yet to know). My mom takes my son her once a week because it's so clean, and you can sit on a couch and still see through the jungle gym they play on since it's all mesh. We did our 4 year Old's birthday here. We did it on a Sunday evening and were the only party there. The staff were all super helpful and friendly, and made sure it ran smoothly. They supply balloons and a private room to eat pizza & cake in along with white paper plates and forks/napkins. They serve the food and box back up for you. I brought cake, candles, a few big balloons and goody bags for the kids. After they play for a hour, they help you take a group picture, and then head to the room to eat pizza & cake. There is little table and chairs for the kids and taller cocktail tables with bar stool chairs for the adults. My only complaint is we could t open gifts there and I didn't realize it. It was really awkward when the guest are expecting the birthday kid to open their gift in front of them, and you have to explain they are loading the gifts in the car for them to open at home. So when I got home we had to video each gift being opened and text it to each adult. I wish there was a notification on their website about that or a way to add more time if you wanted to pay more to allow the kids to open gifts. Cost was reasonable and the same as other venues. The cost went way up because the pizza and drinks are way over priced. It went from $350 to $500 quickly (leave room for a tip). I ran across Safari Run on the internet while searching for a place for my daughter's 4th birthday party. They called me to confirm the booking within a week or two since I booked the party about 2 months out or so. They sent confirmatory emails to respond to each email sent to them. They answered my questions I had over the phone with great patience. We also utilized the free invitations. The day of the party was an awesome experience. All of the kids loved it. There was a photo of my daughter on display. My 4 year old was intimidated by the bigger play set so she and some of her guests utilized the smaller one since it was not so daunting. They have a nice sitting area for parents and it is just so spacious. The party area is big as well. There are tables and chairs for the parents and a long table for the kids. The staff was extra organized and well prepared. They were helpful and understanding. Even the owner was there helping to set up, but I would have never known who he was until someone told me. Came here with my boyfriend's family on the grand opening day just to check it out cause the kids were going to play, and it looked awesome! Definitely a cute Safari theme play area for children that are toddlers to about pre-puberty age. It is similar to a McDonald's play area, but with much better "obstacle courses", better theme, and bigger platform. The staff are kid-friendly, and they give specific safety instructions to the kiddos before they enter the play area (parents, you also sign a waiver for the kids prior to playing). There's also an arcade section and a specific section for the younger ones (pictures included). What's nice is that there's a lounge area for the parents, one outside by the entrance and one in the play area itself. I also saw a Keurig machine being set up for the future, for you coffee-lovers! Therefore, you can relax while keeping an eye out for your children, or run around and play with them as well! Overall, the place was very clean; it includes a hand-washing station inside the main play area which every kid must do prior to playing. Not exactly your Dave&Buster, but considering they just opened and are most likely going to expand and include more activities, I would have loved to come here as a kid myself! Very clean and nice! There are two main areas to play..one for smaller children and the other for bigger, more active kids. That was nice since my not yet 1 year old is not so quick to move around. The only negative is that the slides on the bigger kids side is not so slick/slippery/smooth..maybe for safety issues but my bigger kid got bored quickly because the thrill was short lived since he had to keep scooting himself down the slides after each dip and the tunnel slides did not attach very smoothly so it kinda hurt him sliding through it. We love Safari Run! The place is super clean and well-maintained (expected I guess as it is pretty new). I really appreciated the kid-friendly hand washing station inside the gated play area with step stools. The bathrooms are nice and there are changing tables in the women AND men's room. Free WiFi and the Keurig style coffee machine (it costs) is nice. Staff is super helpful and even willing to jump in and play. There is a separate area for the young ones to crawl/run so that they don't get trampled by the older ones. Arcade area has some nice games, and the tokens are very reasonable to purchase. We hosted a birthday party here over the weekend, and here are my takeaways: They run a very tight ship, and staff will very capably put decorations up for you whether you bring your own or if using theirs. From the moment you arrive, arms laden with supplies, they get the ball rolling. There is a cart by the entrance to the play area labeled for your child's gifts. The party room (where you will have cake and food) is very cute and functional, and they will put up balloons, plates and plasticware, napkins, cups, drinks, etc. so that you can talk to guests and watch over the kids with the other parents. Hallelujah! The staff will also provide options for both playtime and party time, respond to any suggestions or special requests without issue, will gather the kids for a group photo op for you and other parents to get a few snaps, and then will herd the kids to the snack room for food and cake. After the event, they will also gather up unused party-ware, food, and decor for you, deliver that and all the gifts to your car, and even load them for you while you say goodbye to your guests. It was wonderfully hands-off which allows EVERYONE to enjoy the experience and actually celebrate. Parents, this is invaluable for the party experience. On top of the service, the little ones' play room and structure is very functional and fun for toddlers. The main structure for the bigger kids is huge, safe, and a lot of fun. Kids can even time themselves using a button at the starting location which is great for the older kids who may be a little more competitive. For parents, there is plenty of room to get into the structure with your kids to help out if needed. There are also a few areas to sit and watch from afar on very comfortable sofas and overstuffed chairs. There is free Wifi if you need it as well as televisions nearby. The negatives were that the time slot offered was 2.5 hours (as are all the slots for children's parties) on the Safari Run website. However, you will be done with your party in 1.5 hours, and since the next party is in the play area by then, your guests will not be allowed back in. The time slots on their website are very misleading as such. In my confirmation email, they mentioned that the party would be over at 11:40 AM (ours began at 10:00 AM). I took that to mean the party portion (pizza, cake, etc.) would be concluded then but playtime on the structures would be allowed afterwards. Not so. We also would not be able to simply utilize the party room for the full 2.5 hours because staff needs to redecorate and be ready to host the next party 30 minutes before the website's stated time slot is over. So, you actually get one hour of play time, 40 minutes of party time, and that's the end. I would encourage Safari Run to update the website to be an accurate depiction of the time you're paying for as that may impact the decision to rent this facility or another. You can't compare dollars per hour when the info is inaccurate. Also, no one can enter the arcade room without upgrading to an option that explicitly mentions it. So, if you are inviting older guests and/or family who may want to check it out, keep that in mind. All in all, a very positive experience with the staff and facility that I would consider repeating. I will just need to recalculate the cost now that I know how much time we actually receive for the full party experience. read more
