I was a bit apprehensive since we are boating novices, having only used a motorized boat once before. Turns out we had nothing to worry about. We were given a pristine, spacious pontoon (called the Bentley, if that tells you anything :), and the operator gave us crystal clear directions on how to use it. The person helping us also gave us a map of lake placid and pointed out good areas to stop for swimming and fishing. My kids had the time of their lives on the water. The operator was kind enough to suggest bringing one of their floating tubes and a fish net, all for no extra charge. I thought we would only be on the water for 2hrs at most, but we ended up being out for more than 3. The kids said they could have stayed out on the lake all day. We did not catch any fish but we all enjoyed the beautiful view in our clean, spacious pontoon. Given our inexperience, this excursion could have easily gone south, however Captain Marneys clearly cares about its patrons and goes the extra mile to make sure everything goes well. We had a nice treat on this Monday night visit, because it happens to be pizza night with a food truck churning out delicious pizzas. We also ordered the Mussels Kiev, which were surprisingly flavorful in a delicious broth. Indian Bay Marina will continue to be our go-to when in Willsboro for the summer. We have ordered everything from burgers, salads, to the beer battered fried shrimp. I've had the Roasted Beet Salad and it was fresh, but could have used more goat cheese. The Burrata salad is delicious, with a generous piece of burrata. I wanted to give a big thanks to Shelburne Shipyard mgr Mark L for helping me out with an unusual…read moresituation. The engine on my trailerable sailboat was acting up and we couldn't get the boat up to the Shipyard on the water like we normally do in order to get the puny 14 gallon head pumped out. Fortunately where we keep the boat moored is very close to the ramp we use to launch and recover it, both of which are just a few miles by road from Shelburne Shipyard. It took a few calls but once we got in touch with Mark we were able to make arrangements for us to haul the boat out of the water and then drive it up to the Shipyard and use the very long hose they have for reaching boats on the long dock to get it pumped out while on land. So a very big THANK YOU for allowing us to squeeze in between the busy schedule of end of season boat hauling .

We were excited to try the tube and the water skis that came with the boats. However, we did have an issue with the tube as it was a bit deflated. We ended up taking time to go back to the marina for a replacement which unfortunately also deflated after a couple of rides. So if you're looking for a tubing-forward experience, just something to be aware of. Other than that, we would definitely recommend.
