This place is horrible. They didnt take my phone number down and the first month really isnt a dollar. They make your unit due on the first which wasnt made clear to me. I was told the rent was due on the same day that i would be moving in. Not the case. They never called my phone abd tge only letter i got was a lean letter. They scam you here. I was also not given my deposit nor my pro rated rent back when i moved out. The girl said she need to speak with a supervisor. Do not store any of your stuff here! Such a rip off!! read more

My husband and I just moved from Minnesota to Los Angeles and stayed temporarily in Van Nuys during our transition. This storage facility was down the road from where we were staying. We used a one-way U-Haul trailer for our move and with this came an offer (from U-Haul) for one free month of storage. When we initially came to Safe Storage, we didn't realize that this facility was NOT an official U-Haul servicer. We asked about the one free month of storage offered through U-Haul and Bill honored it. The unit was clean and the facility felt safe. We ended up staying for only one month, as we found our permanent apartment in Los Angeles. Move in and move out were very smooth, and Bill was very friendly and helpful all along the way. read more

My first time moving by myself--obviously, moving can be a very stressful time for anyone. Karina was amazingly helpful and friendly. I originally thought I needed an 8' X 5', but she and I realized that I needed a bigger space. No problem! She set me up with an 8' X 6' that same day. I researched online for some good storage places nearby & the reviews for Safe Storage have one thing in common--- Karina the manager will astound you with excellent customer service. I think anywhere you go, pricing for storage will not differ much. But what makes the huge difference is the kind of customer service you'll get. Here, all & I mean every question you ask will be answered thoroughly & patiently. They'll walk you through the whole process, explain process very well & show you options you may want. Facility is well-kept. Clean & safe. Although it's not temperature-controlled, it doesn't really get hot during the summer which would be the most concern. They also have great deals offered for U-Haul which I've already taken advantage of too. Cindy, Karina's assistant always has a ready smile for you. She too is very friendly & efficient. I have been renting at Safe Storage since 2006, 11 years. Previously I rented at several locations in the Santa Clara area in Silicon Valley and in Thousand Oaks. Safe Storage is by far the VERY BEST facility I've experienced! Many don't have an elevator, 24-hour surveillance and an open office 7 days a week (except holidays). I was blown away by experiencing all 3 of these in the same place for the first time with Safe Storage. In addition, their customer service has always been tops, no matter how busy it got. Karina Florian, the manager, has been there since I first began and I have to give her an A+ for her very caring and professional manner every single time! Today I rented a U-Haul cargo van from Safe Storage for the first time. Everything went very smoothly and I happened to have Karina helping me with pick up and return. Just FYI, for the first time when I parked a U-Haul vehicle overnight at my residence in Valley Glen/Van Nuys, I received a parking ticket at 2 AM for "parking a commercial vehicle in a residential area." It's never happened before! Karina advised me to check if a sign has been posted outside my home, where I've lived for 6 years, that warns about commercial vehicles parked more than the allowed hours in a residential area. I checked and there wasn't a single sign other than STOP signs. Good news is when I called the phone # on the ticket for the $$amount$$ the recording said "This ticket is closed, no payment is due." So it was a warning. When I rent a 20' moving van soon, I will back it into the driveway and park it there overnight and ask my housemates to kindly park their vehicles on the street. I will also do that in the future with any cargo van or pickup truck I rent from U-Haul that I need to hang onto overnight. read more

Of all the storage facilities I have rented this is by far the cleanest and well managed. Karina and Jose are consistently, helpful and friendly. All the rules to keep the operation safe for everyone were explained from the very beginning. Amazingly their rates are some of the fairest and their availability hours excellent. They generously allow tenants to borrow the moving wagons (leave your ID in exchange). And they really do check your locks and spaces regularly to make sure your doors are secure! I am comfortable recommending Safe Storage to everyone who needs a quality storage space in this area for reasonable pricing...the best! read more

This was an awful experience, which was shocking because I have used them once before and I was satified.Must be new staff.The customer service was awful and not efficient.The Lady Catrina that works in the office double charged me, after I specifically told her when I provided my credit card for the reservation.DO NOT RING OR PLACE A HOLD ON MY CARD.I go in return the truck and pay cash.I called 11/18/16 to resolve this issue and see what was going on because.I was stranded with my new born child and could not take an uber home because they cleared all the money off my card and I stated to her and 2 other workers, one named Jesse.That My money needed to be reimburst because I have to pay insufficient fund fees for other items that will charge to my card and that this was money that I am using to buy my THANKSGIVING DINNER.It is now 11/22/16 They have not returned my money or my calls.Neither has a supervisor or owner in which I requested to speak to and today Jesse 15 minutes before closing put me on a long hold n then hung up the phone on me and never answered conveniently know they closed at 5:30pm.I am highly dissapointed and will never use this company again and if they think they can just say oh were sorry days later without reimbursing my money that they over charged and compensating me for the inconvenience.They are highly mistaken and have another thing coming.I DID NOT AUTHORIZE YOU TO USE MY CREDIT CARD.Big Mistake.They should have a place for zero stars they dont even deserve one, very unprofessional and in conciderate read more

If I could leave a 0 rating I would do exactly that! Other storage facilities charge $20-30 less a month than this one. The most ignorant and bone-headed staff works here, including customer service agents. Went there on Saturday, 10 minutes before closing just to grab some things real quick. Couldn't leave on time because of a flat tire - they have 100 cameras there that can prove that!! While changing a tire the main gate closed. Ok, called customer service number - no one is answering!!! Had to call several times before an ignorant and annoyed agent responded. After hearing about my situation - they just handed up on me! I couldn't believe that!!! Called them again several times. Finally someone said they will send a manager but didn't know when, could take a night. Told them I will call the police if they don't let me out. The agent basically said "Go and screw yourself!". Ok, cool, called the police. Around 8pm the manager showed up and unlocked the gate. Next month they charged me $50 fee for overstaying after 7pm! Common logic doesn't work here with these people, only company policies are that matter!!! Flat tire doesn't count!! You guys are the worst what I have seen!!! Should have called a lawyer on you!! I am going with this complaint all the way up to the company management, online reviews, California Department of Consumer Affairs, LA County Department of Consumer Affairs, BBB, and other relevant agencies!! read more

This large storage facility came in handy when I had to rent a U-Haul vehicle to move across town. It's my first move away from my family so I had never taken out a van before or used a storage facility . The young ladies working the office are very polite and informative. It was very cost effective and super easy to use this facility in particular because it was close to my original home and offered easy access as well as alarm systems in each unit. The van I rented was very nice for being a moving van. I was expecting something a little older but this was an updated and actually nice to ride in van. It has super powered ac (which was amazing in the intense Cali heat!) and was excellent on gas. The one drawback I will say is that the front gate shuts at 7pm. We arrived at 7:05 and the gate was closed. Otherwise, the equipment, Karina who checked me in, and the location of the business was great. Very easy when moving is so stressful. read more

I am beyond impressed with Safe Storage. My boyfriend and I had researched honestly every storage facility in the valley. As I'm sure you can imagine we just weren't happy with the prices, security and location of most of them. That is until we found Safe Storage. We booked a 5 x 7 interior, hoping to fit my entire studio apartment, and did with room to spare! We fit a queen size bed, dresser, a couple extra large boxes, a table and 2 chairs, and tons more. The facility itself is VERY clean, and felt new. I'm not sure if it is, but they obviously take good care of their business. The customer service is what put this place at 5 stars. Jesse was not only helpful and knowledgeable in getting us set up, he was also incredibly friendly. It felt like we were a part of the family! The office has boxes, tape, rope etc to make your life easier. We also rented a uhaul van from them, which was a piece of cake in and out. The facility is equipped with security cameras throughout. A gate that requires a code to enter, and the employees do regular walk throughs to make sure everything is safe. If you are stressed and worried about which storage facility to go to, I can honestly say in terms of price, space, security, location, customer service and overall business goes, Safe Storage is a no brainer! read more
