I had an appointment from 8am-12 on a Saturday. Couldn't get an earlier appointment. A good size rock hit my windshield over a week ago on that cesspool of an unkept M-39. It went from a bullet size hole and cracked across the windshield within hours and further overnight. It's been over a week and it didn't crack more then 12 inches or so since. Rimon, the Safelite tech was at the condo by 10:30am, he seemed nice and arrived before his text messaged estimated time. He told us it would take about and hour. He showed us how much he would be collecting for the windshield replacement, it would be $353+ and showed me the bill before we parted to let him do his thing. He said he could call me when he's done. I said yes. He was done after 45 minutes or so. I got a text from Safelite as well as a call from the tech when he finished. He asked if I would be driving it soon or today at all. I said maybe later. He was happy to remove the setting tape for me. I said it was fine. He suggested letting it set for a couple of hours if possible. The tech was quick with running my credit card and a receipt was to be sent to my email. He was deft, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I like this easy and convenient process and will definitely do it again. Hoping it's a long while before I have to replace my windshield from road debris again though. The tech reminded me that there's a lifetime warranty on the windshield. Good to know. I will admit I didn't end up going to the Safelight here for the replacement of my window (I opted to go someplace a little closer to home since I was just in the area for a meeting) but they did give me a quick quote and checked out everything to make sure it was safe to drive. I was very stressed by the surprise breakage of my windshield and they put me totally at ease and give me a great baseline for what I could expect to pay for the repair. If I still lived in the area (I grew up nearby which is how I knew to trust these guys) I would certainly be bringing my car in for any and all glass related repairs! Tried to call and speak to a representative at 3 different locations, got a recorded message then hung up on right after. Was not able to talk to a live person, so I took my business to Dr.Glass. Reached a live person on the first call, he answered all my questions and scheduled a mobile service within a few days from call. read more

Scheduled an appointment the night before, scheduling online is SO easy. I got there at 1 for my appointment, walked in and before I even said anything the guy says "you here for the Grand Cherokee?" Took it right in, 10 mins later came back in to get my signature and said it'll take 1.5-2hrs. Hour later comes back in and says youre all set. Ran my card and I was done. Got in my car all the glass was cleaned up too. Wish everything was this easy. read more

Did a fine job of fixing the windshield but this company does not abide by its ad or commercial, where there is not an out of pocket expense. The commercial states that more than likely the insurance covers all the costs. I paid $200. The guy on the phone acted and pretended that he never heard of such an offer. read more

Let's face it, dealing with a broken window from your car being vandalized is a huge pain in the ass. I was mega fussy to have to have to add this to my adulting list the week of Thanksgiving. But Safelite made it quick & painless. I first went to a sketchy place by my apartment in downtown Detroit because it was about $70 cheaper. Lesson learned: you get what you pay for. I spent an hour there only for them to take apart my door and then tell me they didn't even have the window in stock. I made an appointment for the next morning at Safelite (online!!!) while I waited for them to put my door back together. I'll pay the extra bit of money to have a brand new part and professional people doing the job. I got to my appointment, they were on time and it was done in less than an hour. What?! I can't say I've ever had a car repair of any type actually be on time and take less time than the quote. They vacuumed all the tiny pieces of glass that filled my backseat, then washed the exterior of my car! Those little things are really appreciated, especially when crappy service seems to be the norm with anything car related. I'd highly recommend Safelite in Dearborn. They made this unexpected expense/errand the easiest and most painless it could be. I'm sure I'll be back (I live downtown Detroit, broken windows are a common occurrence lol). read more

He was very friendly, professional, and informative about the process. He was very upfront with the risks involved and made sure we had all of the information we needed before he worked on the windshield. I called Safelite and a few other places for pricing on my cracked windshield. They had the lowest price and they were able to fix my windshield the next morning. I dropped my car off before my appointment time and picked it up long after it was finished, with no problems. Everyone I talked with was friendly. They also vacuumed my car and washed the windows. If I could give this place a 0 Star I would! I had my Cadillac Escalade rear window shatter and I decided to go with Safelite because I heard many great things. I WAS WRONG! My rear window was replaced 5 times due to the heating wire that connects to the glass kept falling off. They said that a new window needed to be put in and couldn't be done another way and supposedly it was a GM defect. I ended up giving up on this place when the fifth window was put in and the employee saying "My boss doesn't want to keep putting windows for you anymore and see you here anymore" Went to another place and they didn't have to replace the window at all, just refigure the wire situation stick on the window and it has worked perfectly fine since. I even told them why don't you just have the dealer replace and it can all be done and they refused because they said they would have the same problem. I will never recommend Safelite to any of my family members or friends! I PROMISE YOU THAT!!!!! read more

After staying home with the vehicle, the installer stated he couldn't install in the rain without cover. It might stop so he would make me the last stop of the day. It wasn't raining and he said he didn't feel like chancing it.. Really..? Where in the sign up does it say the vehicle has to be covered? Very disappointed. read more

Autolite is a very courteous and efficient glass repair company. I needed my front windshield replaced. Autolite set up my appointment over the phone for same-day repair, and told me it would take 90-120 minutes for the repair once I arrived at the shop. This was great since my schedule was already tight, but once I arrived they immediately took my car and were done in 70 minutes! They were very accomidating and explained everything regarding the warranty and all the repairs that were involved. The price was very reasonable as well. I called Safelite under the recommendation of a friend, for pricing on my broken windshield. The price was the lowest of all the other places I contacted, and I was told that someone would even come to my home for the repair if necessary. Heidi, the representative in Columbus, Ohio that I spoke to, bent over backwards to accommodate my situation. She was also very courteous and professional. Once the appointment was set, Heidi told me that the technician would call before coming to my residence, which he did. Once the technician arrived, he worked efficiently, was courteous, and had a great attitude. After the repair was complete, he cleaned my windshield and vacuumed my vehicle. I have a Cadillac CT6. A dump truck shot a rock into my windshield and it shattered. I called several places and each said they had to order the windshield from GM and it would be 3-5 business days before it could be installed. Each place told me that since the CT6 was so new there were no OEM windshields on the market. I could not drive a car with a shattered windshield for a week. I called Safelite and they had an OEM windshield in stock. I took my car to the store in Dearborn Hts. The dealership told me they were going to have to calibrate the windshield after I had it installed. The people at the Safelite location told me that's not true and this car's windshield will self calibrate.They installed my new windshield in 1 1/2 hours. The windshield self calibrated and I was on my way. They were knowledgeable and extremely friendly. I hope I don't have to see them again but I will absolutely recommend the Dearborn Hts location to friends. read more
