If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. My experience with United Moving has been so unacceptable that I feel obligated to warn others. My move with this company was one of the worst experiences I've ever had. Not only were there multiple issues during the move itself, but I also had to spend significant time, documentation, and money to properly submit a damage reimbursement claim through their required process. My claim was submitted through Anthem Claims in October 2021, and as of today, four years later, I still have not received the reimbursement I was promised. I was even asked for my Venmo by a representative last year, who confirmed payment was coming, yet nothing ever arrived. Since then, I've emailed and called repeatedly and have not received a single meaningful update or resolution. The complete lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through is shocking. Pay the few extra hundred dollars so you get a professional company who doesn't haggle once all your items are on the truck (the guy in charged called his boss and said we had no more than 450 sq ft but in the end charged us for 500 sq ft), doesn't require payment to a random phone number through Venmo or zelle, doesn't mistreat and cause damage to your items (many items were damaged but the most frustrating was my baby's mattress her great grandmother bought for her. They folded it in half and taped it and I had no idea they did this until items arrived), doesn't force you to sign a document stating you will not sue them for any reason after they've loaded all your stuff, doesn't ignore your calls and concerns, doesn't over charge you for the job (our delivery driver said our cubic feet was 50 less than we paid). Please, pay a reputable company that gives you a delivery window, answers phone calls, has a working voicemail system (because this company does not), has an insurance option that pays more than $.60/item, takes payment using a debit or credit card (we paid the deposit with a card but weren't allowed to do that for the rest of the payments), loads all the items on the quote list (this company tried to stop packing and I still had 8-10 items unpacked that were on the list), uses their own workers and trucks (this company showed up with their own truck but delivered with a one way rental). I was recommended this company by an acquaintance who recently moved across country (as we were doing) and I wish I had done more research. Their pricing was reasonable, but my moving experience has been awful and absolutely not worth the value I paid. Their pricing and coordination contact (Sierra) was very nice and helpful upfront. Due to the size of the job (full service packing of a 3/2 1600 sqft home) we were scheduled for 2 days. First day to start packing, second day to complete packing and load up the truck. Less than a week before they changed the schedule on me and decided to only have their guys come and do the job all in one day (the day before our flight). I communicated that this was very tight and I was assured it would be okay with extra guys put on the job to get it done in time. The day of the move the driver arrived 3 hours late with only 2 other guys with him. I was told there would be extra hands to get it done to which he said there was one more person coming and that was "extra hands". I was very stressed out by this point as there was so much to do and not much time and he told me that I was stressing him out. They did end up getting everything packed, but not until after 11pm at night with our flight early the next morning. This was with both me and my husband helping them. When I communicated this very stressful situation created by their schedule change, I was told they would see what discount they could provide. But ultimately I was told they could not offer any discount to me. I was also originally told that we'd get our belongings within 14 days after our move, but on the day of the move found out that wasn't correct. That we'd get our things anywhere from 14 days to 30 days or possibly longer after the date I give them we could receive the items. This made it very hard to predict and coordinate receiving when the house would be ready so we wouldn't be living with no furniture. I.e. we can't live without beds or kitchen supplies for our family for 14 to 30 days. When the truck arrived, I found that it was VERY poorly packed. I was assured that they take special care to ensure everything is packed well and carefully during transport, well this was clearly not the case at all. When they were unloading I found crushed boxes, many broken or damaged items, and also a large item (a futon I believe) that later we realized did not belong to us. When I reached out to the person who was coordinating the movers (Amanda) she apologized and said she'd see if she could offer some sort of reimbursement for their poor service, but then no response after that. I was hoping that this company would make good on the job they did, but so far this has not been the case. I paid them over $13,000 for this job and am not happy at all. Especially considering I paid them to safely transport items that they then destroyed due to carelessness, so I paid them for nothing essentially. Please DO NOT USE this company. The pricing seemed reasonable but they do not deliver the quality of service expected. If I could rate a zero star rating, I would. We hired these guys to complete our move from Simi Valley to Las Vegas. At the end of the year. The pick up crew did a decent job of getting everything done fairly quickly, but left cigarrette butts everywhere, at least 40 of them. From the back yard, to the garage, to the entire front yard and driveway. But as a while, everything went smoothly. The delivery crew, oh boy. I walk outside to greet them when they pull up. First one I talk to is the driver. I ask him why the front of the truck looks so rough, he tells me he fell asleep on the way out and had a pretty good accident. Didn't think that would mean much, I'll get to that later. The delivery crew was completely clueless. They scratched the floors in 3 different rooms, deep enough that you can run a fingernail across the floor and have it get caught on their gouges. Then, about 4hrs in, they bring in a piece of furniture that was perfectly fine when it got packed, but was now severely broken. As I walked around the house, I started to notice, it wasn't just that one piece of furniture. These assholes broke multiple pieces if furniture and tried to hide it behind other items and then sped up to get out of there as quickly as possible. When I called them on it, I got responses like "it's not that bad", except, that's not how any of it was when it was picked up. They literally snapped our bed headboard into 3 different pieces, and tried to screw it back together in places where there was no joint to begin with because it was a solid piece of wood. Geniuses. I'm surprised they didn't snap the other side off to say that's how it was made. They broke so much. And we're missing at least 2 boxes of portraits of family and our dogs that are nowhere to be found now.I wouldn't hire these guys again if I was paid to, and I would rather drag it all one piece at a time on my belly. And the insurance that we purchased just in case there was damage, is as useless as the movers. We're going to end up eating the cost of replacing most of the items, because of course we are. The driver shows up to my house in a budget truck and then he finds some guys local to help out that made me feel uncomfortable. One of the day workers hits the bedroom door with my headboard to my bed. All they said was, sorry...everything else has been good. I was renting the house and I had to pay $350 to replace the door, have it painted, and hung. In addition, they put a lot of stuff on top of my dryer and the entire top was mashed in. They put a lot moving paper on top of dryer, so I didn't discover that until they left. Additionally, my new total was $8,500 minus a $1,000 (manager special?), that left me with $7,500 that was completely not budgeted. I was quoted $6,000 by North American Van Lines and should have went with them, a reputable and professional national moving company. I filed a claim for the door being damaged and the dryer. They came back with $90 for the dryer which is completely damaged and tried to say it was like that when they picked it up. If it was like that, I wouldn't have brought it with me. They also didn't want to take ownership for the door they damaged. They told me if I wasn't happy with the pricing, they could hold my belongings in some warehouse for 30 days until I figured out what I wanted to do. Also, my family member had to assist the movers on arrival, because the three of them felt they couldn't get my dresser upstairs. I will be pursuing this with the Attorney General's office, the DCA, Bureau of Household Goods & Services, BBB, National Consumer Complaint Database and Small Claims Court. read more

This company is so bad that they literally committed illegal acts. First, once my belongings were packed and in the truck, they added $2K to the bill, using my possessions as leverage for the money. Second, once the truck arrived at our new home, they again added $2K to the bill, saying they will not unpack unless I paid more. Third, they lost a piece of artwork (I was moving in the continental US, and it ended up in Hawaii). And much of my wood furniture was irreparably damaged. I called their office and a nice lady by the name of Tamara answer the phone, she was very helpful. She helped me make the reservation. This company is a nightmare and their main frontman Alex would speak and treat you like he's some Mafia linchpin, and would try to rip you off and extort by jacking up the initial estimate substantially on the day of pick up. He instructs the pick-up driver to exaggerate the initially estimated volume by at least 150 - 200 cubic feet (although, the estimate was made by a little milder sounding guy named Tommy by going over with piece by piece and box by box) . A very nasty guy! On the pick up date, before the truck left, Alex wanted me to give his company an excellent/five star review on Yelp for a $17 discount. I shut him up and paid $17 on top of already jacked up estimate by $550, saying that I paid $60 in tips to the driver and his local helpers. Luckily, we are not in the early 20th century anymore and are equipped with smart phones that can measure also, and sites like Yelp have empowered customers. I moved from California to Texas and myself took a 5 day road trip. I hadn't yet reached my destination or found a place to live that this guy Alex started calling and asking for delivery address. When I told him that I have yet to find the address. He hated the idea of paying for a month free storage as per contract and threatened late delivery in that case. Two days later I was able to give him address and he said now I will have to wait 3 weeks. The worst part was the delivery after three weeks! Delivery truck arrived 3 hours late. On a 100 degrees Fahrenheit plus Texas day, they refused their own driver Dxxxx to provide him extra helpers to offload. Just after the offloading, the driver started throwing up and had severe heat exhaustion. I gave Dxxxx water, some food, and a towel to regain energy and told him to rest. It took him another two hours to recover (in the picture, after he decided to sit in truck because he feared messing up my place with vomit) . When I contacted the company, the same guy Alex simply said call the ambulance if the driver isn't well and refused him any further help. I thought that these people cheat only the customers and are rude to them. In fact, they don't care even for the health, safety, and lives of their own employees i.e. drivers. Both pick-up and drop-off drivers were nice guys who were trying to make a honest living. It's this company's guys on the phone who are the crooks as well as extremely arrogant. The company is being run by insensitive and inhuman jerks! Avoid this United Transportation company at all costs, if you care about yours and a fellow human being's dignity! P.S. It has been 5 hours since the truck arrived, and I am writing this review while the driver's taking nap in his driving cabin to recover. *Finally, at 9:00 pm, I signed the final inventory list after it took 7 hours for a one bedroom apartment to be offloaded and carried inside and in that too I had to help the driver with heavy stuff because of a concern. This company gave me the lowest price for my cross-country move, as compared to a handful of other quotes I received. Their team was predominately responsive to my phone calls and questions. John was my sales agent, Alex was my dispatcher, and Victor was my mover. All are very hard workers. My shipment arrived significantly sooner than the original estimate, which I was thrilled about. Delivered items were arranged nicely in an orderly manner. Two things they could have done better: There was a surprise $280 charge that I was not initially told about: it was for a smaller truck that apparently was required for the pickup. When I ask for a quote, I expect it to be a little more accurate. Because that is not a fun surprise. Secondly, my boxes were pretty beat up, and a few minor items were broken. I engaged their services by making a reservation on 10-23-2023, with the expectation of a smooth and transparent process. Unfortunately, this was not the case. The cancellation of this reservation became a point of contention due to discrepancies in communication and execution. Despite my immediate action to cancel upon discovering a significant reduction in the shipment weight, it seems there was a disconnect between the information provided by the company and the actions taken by their representatives. I diligently followed the company's cancellation procedure via multiple channels--leaving messages, engaging in direct conversations, and adhering to email correspondence guidelines. Despite assurances from company representatives, including a conversation on December 9, 2023, when they guaranteeing the refund process, the refund has remained elusive. The company cited a supposed failure to cancel within a stipulated seven-day period as the reason for forfeiting the deposit. However, this contradicts the information provided to me in the email correspondence, clearly outlining the move date as Oct 31 or Nov 1, 2023, not the erroneously mentioned October 24. This confusion in provided information and the actions of their representatives has caused undue frustration and inconvenience. ***WARNING!!*** Do NOT recommend this company at all. To start things off, the Relocation Specialist" at the time Sierra was really nice with helping me book my move from Arizona going home to Hawaii. She gave us a quote of $2,844.00 and made sure we had the first half of the payment by the time the movers came to pick up the furniture. They sent only 1 person to pack and load the truck which took roughly 4 hours for my single bedroom. Which I helped him pack and load!! After the pick up we were told my furniture would arrive in Honolulu in 14 days from the pick up. To our surprise, we received an email that the furniture arrived in Honolulu on October 7, before the 14 day period. We then received a call and email from Anna, another "Relocation Specialist" saying that we have a new quote that included fuel fees, and other square footage charges after we had given the correct amount of items being shipped as well as their size, and had received our quote from Sierra. In the end our quote went from $2,844 to double the amount. We called to check on my furniture and were told by Ben, the dispatcher that he PROMISED our furniture would arrive on Friday October 8 and that we would get a call to let us know the furniture was arriving. Friday came and went with no call and no furniture. The same thing happened on Saturday October 9 as well. Finally Sunday came around and we gave Ben a call and he was being extremely rude and even swore at my Mom over the phone and told her "You're not getting your furniture for 10 days." Ben eventually got fed up trying to help us and decided to give us the drivers number instead, who also gave us a really hard time. Constantly promising my family and I that we would receive our furniture by a certain time, and not hearing anything back when hours would pass by the given time of arrival. Finally, Sunday afternoon came around, and the delivery driver shows up at 4pm after telling us the day before he'd be here at 9am. Before the driver got out of the truck, he said the company needs the second half of the check before he can even take anything out of the truck. After unloading my heavier items, I noticed one of the wrappings was torn a bit. After the delivery guy cut the paper, we came to discover that my desk was ripped apart. It looked like they tried to just rip off a portion of it and after realizing they broke it, tried to cover it back up as much as they could when there are super easy lock screws on the sides. After unloading our other items, we came to realize that I was missing pieces of my bed frame to support my box spring and mattress, and the box spring and mattress weren't even mine!! We immediately called Anna and she confirmed that the correct bed and box spring were still in their warehouse in California, and mentioned that the bed and box spring we had belonged to an elderly woman who lived in California. Anna then confirmed my bed and box spring would be delivered in 3 weeks. When asked what does she suggest we do with this bed, She proceeds to say "For the time being, you can sleep on that bed." To finish things off, I still have not heard from anyone at United Movers and I still do not have my furniture. This company has excellent customer service. The driver and his accommodations for my situation were GREAT! I was quoted $1789 upon booking. BUT the payments is where it gets sketchy. First their estimate included taking apart/putting together beds. The driver still charged me an extra $112 TO TAKE APART A BED (all of 10mins). THEN the driver asked for payment so he could leave my stuff in my storage unit, which was fine (I was not in state yet). The final payment according to him was $2180 (huhhhh?????) it also included an additional $100 and myself as well as my friend calculated it several times and it was still $100 too high on their end. I paid it so that my stuff wouldn't be left on the streets. I am old the owner I would need a refund at the end of the day because I was charged over price. Do not use this company. This has been a nightmare move from CA to TX. We were duped by a brokerage firm who we thought was the moving company and $3,000 later found out we were scammed. They subcontracted 3rd party United Transportation Moving and Storage, so we had no choice but to use them since no refund from initial payment. Then the moving money pit began. When the movers came in a leased Ryder moving truck we were told the initial contract was incorrect and the cost was substantially more than initially quoted. We paid in money orders per their contract and that was the last we saw of our property for more than 6 weeks. Trying to get answers from the so called manager, who has provided different names , "Alex, Ben, Stan" later ID as "Eyal Benjamin Dror" owner operator was a joke. We filed a complaint to their personnel office "LOL" which goes straight to Mr Dror, so needless to say the nightmare continued. On August 27, 2022, we were contacted by a female who was difficult to understand, telling us the truck will be arriving the following day and to have the payment ready for remaining balance. Early afternoon the following day, the same lady telephoned now stating the company doesn't take money orders that we must pay in cash even though contract states they accept money orders. If we did not pay in cash we will not get our property. Finally, on August 28, 2022, at 630pm our property arrived. The driver was very professional and kind so he was the best part of the experience; However, he had to stop in Dallas to find anyone who would work unloading the truck, seriously. Needless to say they were not experienced which showed as they were trying to make $50 bucks. Prior to unloading the truck we were now confronted with additional fees of $195. While disputing the additional charge to Mr Dror, he stated is we don't pay we will not get our property which was being held hostage. I explained they were violating our contract, which Mr Dror ignored continuing to state we had to pay or no property. Additionally, I confronted this so called business owner operator about changes to our contract that someone scribbled out the agreed upon cost, and wrote in a new total which is illegal. When asked who made the change, this owner operator kept stating if we wanted our property we had to pay the new cost. Even the driver was stunned and eluded this is a common practice by the owner. After waiting so long for our property we paid the additional $195. Some folks might say its such a low amount no big deal, but initial cost went from $6500 to more than $8,000 so it was a big deal to us. Our property was damaged, boxes opened, crushed, and we are missing property and now we are supposed to file a complaint via their Web Site which goes unanswered and straight to the owner operator. So do yourselves a favor use a reputable company like United Van Lines and stay away from brokerage companies, their a rip off and in the long run you'll pay them 2-3 thousand dollars to find the cheapest company regardless of reputation and then your locked in. read more
