Went in and ended up getting an Extremely expensive, all electric AddMotor Trike. I was ready to…read morepay in full for it, but salesman talked me into the 'Extended Pay' program through Synchrony Bank and the 'Freedom to Ride' program! IF YOU CAN PAY, DO NOT USE THIS PROGRAM!! They automatically give you a credit card, over 30% interest! Before I got any paperwork for the 'free loan' they sent me an unsolicited credit card with interest on that card over 30%! I thought it was an unsolicited credit card so I cut it up and threw it away. Almost instantly, I got daily comments through text messages, why have you not activated your credit card? Your credit card needs to be activated immediately!! I don't want their over 30% credit card!! Followed by texts, counting down days to payment due! When I try and set up account on the Synchrony bank app., to make a payment, I find that without a Synchrony bank account or their credit card, They tell me that they can't find me and no payment can be made at this time. No Credit Card or Checking or Savings account, located with Synchrony. So I call them and get someone with extremely limited English at the Offshore Call Center!! This person tells me that they will only accept payments through the Synchrony Bank. Either mail a check or money order, or my personal bank debit card information. Tried to pay in FULL using my personal debit card, but would not accept payment more than $500.00. I am glad this is a one purchase only transaction, because I will never go back to a business that insists on me using their payment program, instead of letting me go ahead and pay for my purchase at the time of purchase! P.S. I do enjoy the trike, just not the company that I have to make the payments to!! I just won't be going back very soon to this business! I located a shop near me that lubed the squeaks and will do any future repairs I may need. Also, their "chat" is not actually live. They tell you they will contact you in a few minutes, but it's been over hours and I'm still waiting.

The other day, we were riding along the river path and decided to stop at Spoke for a beer after spending some time on the trail. Her facial expressions and overall attitude made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. After taking our payment, she went to the back to grab our beers. We waited about seven minutes, which seemed like a long time considering we only ordered beer. When she finally came back, the beers were room temperature instead of cold. Normally I would have said something, but because of how short and unfriendly she had been from the start, I honestly didn't feel comfortable bringing it up. It felt like I'd just be met with more attitude. I still like Spoke, and I'll definitely be back for the breakfast burritos because they're great. I just hope this experience was a one-off, because better customer service and properly chilled beer would have made a huge difference.

I found this place online after being disappointed with two previous recommendations by friends (Rolling Cowboys and some place on Sunset that's out of biz now). I set out to by my first new, quality bike. Before I made the investment I wanted to be sure I was getting the right size and model for what I wanted. I was surprised to see this unassuming store front was actually a decent sized store with a HUGE selection of bikes! Jason promptly greeted me and spent about 30 minutes with me teaching me about sizing, tire choices and styles. After letting me test drive a couple of bikes he suggested we order a larger frame size for the bike I liked. They were able to have it transferred by 9am the very next morning! Like a little kid on Christmas morning I showed up Saturday morning to see my new bike waiting for me. Jason again spent about 30 minutes with me explaining different accessories as well as installing my new bike lock and showing me how to use it. Outstanding service! The WORST staff in bikes. Only enter if your knowledgeable about the product you want they will do nothing to help. Don't make big purchases with out getting all the details first they imply a lot more then promised, they will most defiantly spring shit on you if you come back with questions. I'm pretty sure they hired a guy with Fetal alcohol syndrome, he will stare vacantly at you when asking a question. Then proceed to gape open his mouth for just a moment before a neanderthal grunt murmurs from his stupid fucking pie trap. I have been disappointed for the last time. If you have a Schwin or a bike from Target you're pretty safe. Otherwise I'd stay away. This isn't what I'd call a premier bike shop. I brought a wheel there for a new tube and tire. I brought my old tire so they could see specifically what I wanted; the exact same size. They put on a really fat tire, the kind for beach cruisers. I told the guy that it was the wrong size and his response? "No it isn't!" I showed him the old tire and how it was smaller than the new one. Now his response was, "Oh, we don't have that size." I had Mr. Einstein pull the tire off and I went to Orange 20 who are AWESOME btw. read more

Talk about disappointing quality! My mom came to this store and fixed two bikes for $40, but it was $40 in the trash! Both bikes had flat tires within a couple of weeks... Basically the same problem. My tire basically came off the bike wheel and the wires on the tire were about to come out! Talk about cheap quality. This business sold us overpriced cheap stuff -0- I had to pay again at another store to fix my bike. I recommend the bike store on Wilshire and Wilton. Don't be fooled by their "good customer service". You're basically donating to their store by purchasing or using their service. read more

I did my research all over greater LA for a Specialized Stumpjumper and every one quoted me 3000+!!! yes' I know these bikes are expensive but the guys at Safety Cycle gave me a deal I could not pass up at 1000 dollars less then the competition. I think his name was Kim- he worked on tightening my brakes for probably a good 20 minutes. He initially was baffled in trying to determine what was preventing them from working. I felt grateful this man seemed genuinely concerned & thorough, considering he was providing a free service to me. After realizing he couldn't fix whatever the problem was, he asked his helper to take a look. After about 5 minutes, the helper said the the replacement arm or brake was broken. It wasn't broken when I brought it to them. They wish they would've done the right thing and told me they accidentally broke it and would honor a repair. But they didn't. I said thank you for trying and thank you for your time, left them a tip and rode away. I didn't know it was broken until I closely inspected it after riding off. They seemed friendly and helpful, however I felt duped and deceived.

At 4pm yesterday they called to say that one bike needed additional attention, so I needed to leave it overnight and come back in at 5pm today. At 4:30pm today I called to check in, and they told me "one more hour." At 5:30 I called again. They told me they HADN'T started yet. Plus, both bikes now needed additional attention...but not to worry, they would have them complete within 15mins. I drove 30mins across town to pick them up, and when I walked in I saw that .nothing. had been done to either bike. Now I'm sitting here, writing a review while watching them slowly stumble through a simple chain replacement for the first bike, while the second is yet to be touched. And now, as if to complete an almost comic tale of clumsy proportions...they're trying to charge me for all the repairs they quoted but never completed. Deep breath... ... UPDATE: it's been a few weeks since I composed this review. I held my hand, because I wanted to make sure I wasn't speaking too harshly, or even out of turn. I recognize that the stakes were higher for me at the time, as my lady & I were about to head out to the desert for a week of camping and bike riding, and departure time was fast approaching. Then. While we were out there, the chain on my fiancée's bike broke as we were riding across the playa. This was the same chain that I paid to have put on her bike at this fine establishment. Literally, the one thing that they fixed is is the one thing that broke. Fortunately, there were ample free bike shops out on the playa, and while getting the bike fixed, I chatted with the volunteer mechanic and learned a lot about maintaining my own bike, both in the desert & back home. I'm grateful for the learning :) Listen, owners of this place, PLEASE DO BETTER. I like your spot. It's charming. It looks like you have everything someone might need for bike maintenance and general home upkeep...and there's a dry cleaners at another counter across the room!! One stop shop for so many local needs... But seriously, your ability to fix a bike and treat a customer with respect could be greatly improved with very little effort. I'd like to see the fruits of that effort. Potential Patrons: Now you know. Maybe you'll have a great exchange. I hope you do. This is just one man's story.

The lady who helped me took more than 30 minutes to tightened the bolts . I feel like she didn't know what she was doing . I asked if I could help or do something so it could be done faster . She refused my help and at the end she told me it was $35 for the services. I feel like she overcharged me. In hindsight, I should have asked how much it would cost but I didn't expect it to be so much.
