    I live right around the corner and have tried to give this store so many chances, but it's gotten to the point where it's just hostile. The staff here treat people of color and queer customers differently -- plain and simple. If you're either and don't read the rest of this review -- to sum it up, give your business elsewhere. Most of the employees are rude, short, or act like customers are inconveniencing them. There are a couple decent people who actually seem to care -- Hannah is the only name I remember right now. She's always friendly, smiling, and professional, and among the handful of staff who actually make the store tolerable at times. She's the one bright spot in this entire store and a role model for how the rest of the staff (especially Linda) should behave. Linda has been the source of multiple problems, but what happened today was beyond unacceptable. My boyfriend and I went in to grab a bottle of wine -- both showed our IDs (as we've done countless times before, even with Linda), and we paid with our joint card. After the transaction went through and the receipt printed, Linda suddenly tried to snatch the wine away and started yelling at us in front of other customers because he had tapped to pay instead of me. The card is joint, both our names are on it, and we both showed valid IDs -- there was absolutely no issue except the one she decided to make up on the spot. She made a total scene, trying to stop us from leaving like we'd done something wrong. It was humiliating, and everyone around was staring. I've never experienced anything so unnecessary and blatantly discriminatory in a grocery store. If Linda wants to take her job so seriously, maybe she should move to produce and deal with the moldy fruit and rotten vegetables that sit on the shelves here instead of harassing paying customers. It's gross. I've seen moldy strawberries, carrots, and brown lettuce more than once, and judging by other reviews, I'm not the only one. This store is a joke -- rude employees, disgusting produce, and management that clearly doesn't care about basic professionalism. Safeway corporate should be embarrassed to have their name on this location. If you want a normal shopping experience where you're treated like a human being, go to Aldi down the street instead. The staff there are friendly, the food is fresh, and they don't make a public spectacle out of customers who've done nothing wrong.

    The cheese section delivered for us. They had these little miniature cheese charcuterie kits. The employee that helped us was very friendly. So the surrounding area isn't so great but the chesse area looks classy enough. Safeway isn't usually known for this cheese selection but I was glad I found it when I did. Would visit again.

    Taylor was my very unhappy cashier.

    For the amount of money we spend to purchase food in your store, could you please HIRE friendly cashiers. This morning Taylor was my cashier, not sure if he was feeling sick, grieving a loss of some sort or is just an unhappy camper. He should not be customer facing if he cannot muster up a smile, a simple greeting or eye contact at the very minimum. I tried to call customer service to have someone check on Taylor but after 10 rings, no one picked up. Hopefully you see this review and can find out what is going on with Taylor. I won't shop there again so I hope Taylor gets the customer service training he needs. Have a wonderful day!

    Came here for tri-tip that was on sale. Meat department was extremely helpful. Although prices tend to be a bit higher here than other local stores if you catch the sales it's worth the trip. All locations we've been to are clean, well organized and everyone is extremely knowledgeable and friendly!

    I got some fried chicken at this location and got terrible food poisoning sick all night I would never come back to this place!

Was just here on Mother's day and picked up this new ube coconut spread which was $10 for 5.8oz. I would say that is expensive. They did let everyone take a carnation flower home on this day. That was nice. This store is always busy on the weekend. The parking is so bad. It can be difficult to get a parking spot on the busy weekends and people take forever to get in their car and leave the parking spot. Lately, I've been noticing how slow the cashiers are and the lines to pay can get pretty long. They really take their time picking items up, scanning and putting items into the bag. There is no sense of urgency at all. It would help to get some faster cashiers or retrain to improve speed, or even add a self check out area.

You would never guess unemployment is approaching 5% with the quality of staff this store hires to care for its customer base. Christina S., the outdoor cart attendant, is rude and argumentative. DeShawn, the manager on duty, stated she is special needs and that somehow excused her unacceptable behavior. She presented herself as very capable and also possessed a snarky vocabulary. DeShawn didn't possess the aptitude to address the complaint properly and needs basic management training. Overall, the service just keeps getting worse. The store is very dirty and outdated.
