I love the Asian Salads. I found I like City Market more. today I was looking forward to a new drink at Starbucks Strawberry Auqi. City Market did a wonderful job with a good amount of ice and big strawberries. it was refreshing and tasted amazing! Safeway didn't do much ice or strawberries just more of the ingredients. The girls weren't kind and didn't seem to care. Very disappointed. read more

My husband and I live about four or so blocks away from our local Safeway. Since 2016 actually and every time my husband goes inside to do our shopping they have people follow him or keep eyes on him. He recently got a serious case of pneumonia and had to be on oxygen at home and away from home. But when he recently went to our local Safeway again. They made fun of him in the check out line. While the bagger tried to start a conflict by extending the joking to making a statement about how it's not how society works. So I wanted to go on note about it and complain. For the last two months, ive made three seperate purchases of Safeway brand frozen hamburger patties and all three times they are OBVIOUSLY defrosted in the back of a semi truck, gone rotten, refrozen and they are selling it!!!!! I am so happy to have moved somewhere where there is a Safeway again. It is such a clean and organized store with a great selection of fresh meat. Est steak and chicken prices, in my opinion. I searched with precise location on my phone for a specific Advil product and the results came up as in store in grand junction with a price of $8.99. When I got to the store the price on the shelf was $11.99. So I took the products up to the customer service e desk and showed my search with the results for grand junction with the price. Kaleigh went to ask a manager and then came back and said that the search on my phone "was a lie and we don't price match those" confused I showed her my phone again and then another girl named Mikayla and she immediately stated that that search could be for any store in the nation, then I showed her that my search was for Grand Junction and then she snapped back "we don't price match that as it does not specify which Safeway!" so I left! Completely rude, unprofessional and it seemed from other customers at the store at the time voicing the same concerns with associates, that this seems to be a regular occurrence at this Safeway! They REALLY need to get someone to clean up out front. That's a used rat trap in the photo (that Yelp deleted) that has become unglued and is lying in the crud that never seems to get cleaned up out by the pop machines. It's been there for days. Gross. Do you want grosser? I was in line at the deli counter behind an aging meth head couple who were chatting with the deli clerk. Right in front of the clerk (and me) the woman flipped open the olive salad bin, reached in with her bare hand and scooped up some dripping olives which she proceeded to slurp down. She continued chatting with the deli clerk, who never batted an eye. I left the store immediately and almost added to the mess outside. Don't expect to find exotic gourmet items like Yukon Gold potatoes here. On the plus side, the overworked staff is always friendly. 1 1/2 stars. EDIT: It looks like they are trying to clean this place up! They were power spaying the sidewalks and cleaning the carpets yesterday! Woo hoo!!! One star added. read more

We've been customers for over 13 years. Why go anywhere else? Best meats, best prices, coffee shop, close to everything, BEST staff EVER! This store on Horizon drive is our go-to for everything from medications, gardening, food, pet supplies and even clothing and shoes at times! Nicely stocked grocery store. Produce was fresh and nicely displayed. I am a fan of many of the Safeway Select brands especially in the frozen food section. I give a special shout out to their spring rolls and their pot stickers. Many of Safeway Select frozen appetizers ( small packages) are delicious as well. Pot of gold And fried green beans, for example. I am NOT as much a fan of the Safeway brand used in the deli . There is nothing actually wrong with them, I would just prefer to have access to more of the national brands. This store is clean and I had very good help at the checkout. I also bought gas and thought the price was excellent and was even better with the discount from my Safeway card. read more

When the previous manager left the store went downhill in a hurry. New manager leaves a huge amount to desire in a manager. Employees do not like him and we have seen him bully them. Gas prices are always the highest in the area so your so called rewards are basically a waste of time. ALL of the employees are wonderful though. Great meat department and the bakery is fantastic. Pharmacy is really good but seems to be short of enough help quite often as long lines can be seen waiting to pick up our meds. More than once we have shoved our full cart down an aisle and walked out because of only one checker and we will NEVER use self service. We are not employees. read more

I am a frequent shopper at this store and have never had any issues, but recently I had an issue with a worker here. Her name was rylee (may have been spelled differently). I approached her for help finding a product while she was working and was helping no one else, she looked at me, rolled her eyes and proceeded to ignore me. I waited a couple minutes thinking she possibly was busy with something. After a few minutes I asked for help again. She finally came over to help me. After I told her what I was looking for, she rudely pushed past me and took me to an aisle. Without saying a word she began to leave. The aisle she took me to was the completely wrong aisle. I went after her and told her that this aisle didn't have what I was looking for. She proceeded to roll her eyes and have a very nasty attitude while she showed me to another aisle. I've never had this kind of issue with any other employee but her behavior was very rude and disrespectful, especially to a respectful customer. I really hope that this Safeway talks to this employee and that she has the appropriate repercussions for treating a customer this way. read more

Great for a grocery store, I have been doing much of my shopping at King Soopers AKA Kroger and this Safeway is pretty nice inside. Nice looking pharmacy and knowledgeable staff. They have a few different products than King Soopers and some products I still go to King Soopers for. read more

Worst grocery in GJ. Get the ad on Wednesday, showup after rush hour, and every single thing in the ad is gone. Show up three days later? Empty shelves. The employees are nice but worthless. This grocery is a mile from my house, but I have to go 3 miles to clifton to get anything I want. This store is a graveyard after 7 pm, while the city market is packed with shoppers. This store will soon be a roller skating rink. read more

Not a bad grocery store I particularly think that the pharmacy is very nice to deal with. Joel and other staff are very friendly and very efficient I go out of my way to get my sons prescriptions there because of the fact that I like them. read more
