This is my 'go-to' store for basics (milk, can goods, bread, juice, etc) because it's convenient, generally clean and organized and I shop for deep discounts. It does have its ups and downs. Sometimes product, especially on sale, is depleted, items are at the edge of expiring (or over), and price markings aren't always clear. The message is check things before putting it into the cart. Those pesky bar codes to scan at items for an additional discount are a pain in the neck. Sometimes it works and sometimes not. You also better be a contortionist to get it. I've seen people, including myself, struggle to snap a photo. Plus the refrigerator or freezer door stays open for 10 minutes until you get it, blocking others needing access. You work hard for the extra discount and become a problem doing it. Many claim and complain about problems at the cashier, not getting a discount, overcharging, etc. I check my receipt every time and never had an issue. So my YELPIE friends... I come to you with a question and plea for assistance. The other day while shopping here I came across these Safeway brand Signature tortilla chips, see photo, flavored Chili and Lime. Oh my goodness they were good! I never saw them before and never did again. I keep looking and looking but 'nada'. I ask staff and they shrug. They do say 'limited edition'. Hmmmm. Weird. Doe anyone know if they're available at any Safeway? I even checked the App and website that say available. Then at Trader Joe's I found a similar bag but they are no where near as good. If anyone can solve it I would appreciate it a lot. I'm not a big chip eater but the spiciness and taste are really good. Jody & Lorena (floral) are absolutely fantastic. They both went WAY above the call to make sure Mother's Day flowers were properly delivered. If ANY customer people did half as good as these caring women, that is still wonderful service. Their website ordering system has glitches and the order got buried somehow. The text message links led to a non working web page. Both women went more than the extra mile to be sure my flowers were delivered. And by the way, the flowers delivered were absolutely beautiful. This is my local Safeway, and I do most of my grocery shopping here. It's convenient and has everything I need. Overall, I've had a very positive experience at this store. The recent remodel really updated the store, it looks clean, modern, and more open. The ambiance is definitely more inviting. That said, I'm not a fan of the change from double doors to a single entry/exit. Almost every time I'm there, it gets congested, and you end up trying to dodge people coming in and out at the same time. The parking lot is large and easy to navigate, and most of the employees are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately, there are two employees in the deli who are consistently rude and provide poor customer service, which is frustrating. I've also had several bad experiences with the pharmacy in the past, so I now use a different one. read more

My husband was at the deli counter today from 12:50p until 2:30p he ordered 6 sandwiches and the lady moved slower than molasses. There was no salami sliced so she had to slice some, she double checked with my husband asking him if he wanted enough salami for two sandwiches? He confirmed yes. And then when she was making the salami sandwiches, she only had enough meat for one sandwich, because she was taking so long my husband just told her to make the other sandwich turkey. He ended up not getting his sandwich because he said it was faster to just buy everything while she was making the other sandwiches and make his own sandwich at home. I also just want note that these were half sandwiches and three of them had no condiments, and were just meat with a slice of cheese. Very simple stuff here. On top of that, I opened one of the sandwiches to see what kind it was, and there was a small piece of plastic, a piece of the plastic sheets that they use to hold the meats/cheeses when they're slicing it I guess? Luckily I saw it and I removed it. And whoever slice these pickles....why?! lol they are THICC! Maybe for snacking, but they have no business being in a sandwich. All I tasted was pickle. Super expensive and ridiculously slow. We'll just get our sandwiches from Subway or Togo's from now on. read more

I love it when I come to Lincoln's Safeway. I get to visit one of my best friends, enjoy great customer service, and shop for deals as our economy skyrockets. This store is brightly lit and easy to find off of old highway 65. It has a huge parking lot shared with many other businesses and eateries. I like that this Safeway because is a 24-hour store, and even the night crew is enjoyable, although working that ghastly night shift. I love visiting the Deli for their freshly made sandwiches. The bakery has some good-looking cakes(as long as they don't put too much filling inside). The produce department is always kept up. The vibrant colors of fruits and vegetables make my trip through here enjoyable on my eyes. The floral department is always full of gorgeous bouquets of flowers and poured plants. House plants are my favorite. The isles are always clean unless you're in there late at night, because then they are stocking up the shelves for us. My favorite people working there are Leah and Linda. They are so nice! They are down to earth and smiley! Wonderful to talk to! They both bring life to this store and are the biggest reasons I keep coming back. This is a pretty big store you can find your basic grocery needs in. When the ribs (and avocados) go on sale... we stock up! We have many favorite food items, but it wouldn't be possible without the Safeway app! On there, you can score extra coupons, extra savings, freebie items, and you also get a $5 reward in your birthday! You can earn gas rewards, up to a dollar off a gallon of gas, but if your smart, you can use your rewards for free grocery items by using your safeway rewards for things like cases of water and up to $20 off your groceries, which I think is better that $.10 off a gallon of gas. read more

Somedays I'll be watching my breakfast burrito get made and just want to walk out.. but I was soo happy with how she made it. She took her time and she made it how she'd wanna eat it and I sincerely appreciate that. Worst experience ever is always at the Safeway florist shop. I find it easier to buy flowers for my wife's gravesite closer to where she is buried, but every time I come here, there's always an issue with how the flowers are cut. I recently visited the Safeway florist and was very disappointed again. I asked for the flowers to be cut at a 45-degree angle and about an inch or two below the rubber band, but they cut so high that they cut the rubber band itself. The staff also seemed unsure of what a 45-degree cut even meant, which was surprising for a florist. When I tried to explain and show how to do it, the lady acted like she had an attitude with me, which made the experience even worse. These are basic florist skills and simple instructions listening and paying attention would have avoided the problem. I really hope Safeway improves training and customer service, because this should not be an ongoing issue... read more

This is my neighborhood Safeway! This is where I go for most of my grocery shopping . I go to other stores here and there for certain items, but this is where I get most of my groceries. The bakery is pretty convenient to grab some cupcakes or cakes for birthdays, or baseball games. I really enjoy the Lucerne brand for cheeses and coffee creamers . Everyone here is very helpful and nice ! I use the Safeway fuel as well to redeem my gas points since I shop here so much . They also have five dollar Fridays certain food items are only 5 dollars that day ! Clean and organized store friendly staff I will be back soon very soon lol read more

I like coming to Safeway to get my gas every time I put my phone number in. I earn points towards getting off my gas so every time you shop in the store when you put your phone number in that builds up points and the points could equal out to taking off of your gasoline price. I have saved as close to $.20 off of a gallon and with the prices of gas in freezingthis definitely helps This is a very clean establishment very clean atmosphere. They also have if you have a certain prepaid amount that you could go inside and tell them exactly how much you want because they authorize in advance $200 has to be at least in your account, I've had this happen before and so I've had to go inside and clarify exactly how much I want. They definitely have a variety of snacks to choose from including lottery tickets, alcoholic beverages, bakery, good, and much more I like shopping at this establishment even the gas station because there's something I forget I know they will have it in stock here. Great establishment, friendly staff great gas prices. So today I purchased gas on pump 4. When it clicked off I looked at the price and realized it was still adding on to my total but no gas was coming out. I pulled the nozzle out of the tank and it was still adding to my cost. The pump didn't stop until I put it back into the slot. An additional .30 cents tallied on. I let staff know but didn't get much of a response. Just beware. read more

I love shopping over at Safeway. It reminds me a lot of Albertsons which I used to work for for about three years in Arizona and Safeway bought out Albertsons I love coming here. This is a very large establishment with several different items to choose from one of my favorite areas is a poor Starbucks. Networking is amazing and super friendly. Heidi is very sweet and she knows, my dream by looking at me she's always so very energetic so friendly she doesn't great job at Starbucks as well the other people That work at Starbucks I can't think of all the names lol. This establishment has fresh delicious items. Lots of items to take home and have a simple dinner. My favorite meats is what they have here is boars head. It is one of the top deli meats, and they absolutely have amazing flavor. They are one of my favorite lunch meats to grab so occasionally I'll grab them for a snack or a good sandwich , also they have the fried chicken over here which to my surprise it was a lot cheaper than going over to KFC and tasted way better. They also have the bakery which you could have a customize cake made by order by request. They have delicious freshly package cookies that they put out daily, they also have fresh donuts that are put out daily. My favorite donuts is the sugar donut or the glaze it has an amazing flavor. Also I'm a huge fan of the freshly cut meat that is put out in front of the butcher block every day it is definitely one of my favorite spots not a grocery stores offer this so I appreciate this when I come to a store when I could see displayed the beautiful selection of meat and I know that it's going to be that much more good because I can see it and you could almost taste the flavor by looking at it, also this establishment has a pharmacy available and also Rita get your flu shots and latest shots by providing your insurance information. This establishment always has a clean parking lot. No shopping carts are scattered out throughout the parking lot. There restrooms are very clean and the staff working here is amazing. Kelly at self check out is always so happy, friendly and helpful and every time I need help with my app she's right there to help me smiling and bubbly, I love her personality I highly recommend this establishment for anyone. They definitely have something for everybody and they have Starbucks in here so if you need a cup of coffee in the morning look no further, they have it available. I will definitely be coming back here again very soon for more future visits and we're great experiences to come. Thank you Safeway you guys are awesome. The store itself is nice, employees are somewhat helpful- it's clean and functional- but the floral department!! the flowers are ALWAYS on their last leg and look so sad??!! Like... ALL of the open bouquet flowers, ALL of the time? It's like the florist picks the only fresh flowers for their arrangements and then puts the rejects on the floor... So much potential - but I leave disappointed, without flowers, every single time. read more

we had placed an order at the Safeway deli for 10 trays of sandwiches for my dad's celebration of life(1 1/2 weeks prior to event) we followed up on said order four days prior to the event and we're assured everything was fine and our sandwich will be ready to be picked up Saturday morning at 11 AM. The day of his service we get a text message at 7:30am telling us they didn't have part of the buns they needed for our order and had to cancel our order. After telling them to substitute the buns for what they did have because we don't have time to order 300 sandwiches from anyone else our order was re-ordered. When we arrived at 11 AM to pick up the trays of sandwiches, they had only prepared a few of them.(3 of 10 trays) We had to wait there for another hour and 20 minutes for them to prepare the sandwiches.. the young man working at the counter was extremely rude and unprofessional. This was clearly their error and they had no regrets, remorse or sympathy for the situation. We have ordered sandwiches for events before and never had an issue, but I am warning. Anyone who needs a lot of sandwiches for any type of event to follow up numerous times to make sure they will be ready when you need them. read more

I have always enjoyed shopping at Safeway, but have just hear that Kelly, the employee near the self check out area is gone and has been fired after 30+ years! She was the best: friendly, helpful, courteous, a joy to deal with and I know she loved her job. If you're unfortunate enough to need help from a store manager at this location then you might be disappointed. I had a simple request at the "customer service" desk and was abruptly shut down by a manager named "Stella". She was attempting to process a purchase when I mentioned that another grocery store in the area was having system difficulties. She responded something to the effect of I'm busy with something else now. Very rude, very unhelpful, and then when she was finished with the transaction she simply walked away without addressing my needs. I guess some people have problems responding to a comment while doing something else at the same time? But those people probably shouldn't be in a management position. This is the nearest gas place to my house that's reasonably priced... so it's my go-to when I 'm at home with fumes in my gas tank. Looking at the other reviews here, I find it pretty bizarre that many/most of the reviews (especially the negative reviews) are for the nearby Safeway store and not the Fuel Stop as clearly labeled on this Yelp page. People! pay attention! There is no clinic here... it's in the Safeway Store. There is no deli here... it's in the Safeway Store. You get gas here, and maybe a snack or a drink or smokes - convenience store items, because it's a convenience store! Like I said, though, the gas seems to be decent quality and typically some of the better prices in the area. I also haven't noticed any problems with broken seals on the gas pumps like I've seen at other stations. Broken seals can be a bad thing - it could mean that someone has installed a credit card skimmer in the pump so someone can steal your info. It's happened in the general area (Auburn recently, I think) so beware! read more

It's been a long time since I've seen someone handle stress the way the manager, Dave, did on Christmas morning! All stores were closed in the area except for Safeway. There were clearly others, besides me, who dropped the ball, and needed some last minute items as well. But my catastrophe was nothing compared to what the store was experiencing! All of their registers went down! There were 5 lanes open with people lined up all the way to the back of the store at each one! The staff was working diligently and they would regularly announce their appreciation for patience! It got so interesting! And then... my Christmas blessing was when I asked the store manager a question. I was embarrassed to even ask as I knew he must have been beyond flustered... but I had to! His checks were flushed ... he was rapidly walking through the store with a ladder, and when I asked him my question, I was fully expecting a short and abrupt answer. But Dave paused for a moment, gathered his thoughts and responded with such grace and kindness! My heart was so touched and it is truly a Christmas lesson I will never forget! read more

I have been to this Safeway three times. Although I do not live I. This store is the closest to where my daughter lives. They have great produce, meat, and other items. My favorite part to earn this 5 has got to be the pharmacy. They are extremely fast! I went to the urgent care next door and they called over a prescription which was processed and filled in less than 15 minutes. I was selecting fresh chicken breasts and found a package that was discolored. I took it to the meat counter and waited as the butcher was helping two men and he second guy looked to he cutting something at the back of the counter. I also had a question about another item I needed so I waited. I waited why the two men asked about the cooking methods of three different kinds of seafood, each time the butcher explained in detail how to cook each thing, ugh ok on a Friday a little ahhh but good customer service is a weakness of mine. Only after a while, like 7-10 minutes, it seemed almost like a prank, they kept asking about how to cook things and he told them. Didn't appear they were buying anything. I tried to get the attention of the second guy but he ignored me. Finally I interrupted them and said "This chicken is bad, so is your customer service!" Left the chicken and my cart, and went to Raley's. I asked the names of the two and was told Rex and Antonio, and was told "oh they do that all the time" Do better Safeway . read more

I've tried to shop at Safeway in Lincoln several times because I think it's a great store. However, the florists couldn't give me the time of day, she really didn't want to answer any of my questions in reference to orchids, fresh bouquets and when they usually get their flowers in, many of them looked dead and dried up. I asked the produce person a question about apples and he completely literally ignored me, Last was the cashier and bagger, no hello, how are you or anything from the cashier. She only made eye contact with me when she was telling me to bring my flowers closer to her device to ring them up. The courteous clerk put cans on top of tomatoes, bananas, and apples. He packed one bag so full and heavy I had to separate it into two bags before I could even put it in my trunk let alone carry it inside my house. Not service dog friendly Peter the manager came to my special needs kids and I in a very rude way asking to don't come back again! I never experienced this kind of treatment from a "manager" in a neighborhood store. Of course we won't come back but if you have a service dog you shouldn't have business in here again. He could talk to us like a real manager but he was very VERY rude like a mad police officer, like I was braking the worst law! it's ok for me but my kids got scared and that makes any mother mad. read more

I'd like to complain about an employee named Sue. She has been rude to me every time I've been helped by her. Last week at the self checkout I got 1/2 off frozen blueberries and she told me I scanned them wrong. She didn't really help me, just told me I scanned them wrong. I said ok. Then I had a coupon for butter and showed her the coupon on my phone, to which she replied "I don't know what I'm looking at, you probably picked up the wrong brand." I told her to take the butter, so she snatched it from my hands and walked away. I went back into the store after checking out and confronted her about her rude & consistent behavior. I've worked in a grocery store before and I know it can be busy, however treating customers like crap isn't okay. When I told her that every time she's helped me she has been rude to me, she said "oh I'm sorry" then went back to staring at her computer screen. I told her maybe she should try to be nicer and to do better, to which she *literally* shrugged her shoulders and went back to working...I will be calling upper management this week about her lack of care and basic customer service skills, but Yelp seemed like a good place to put it since I'm probably not the only one who's had issues with miss Sue. Hopefully a manager sees this and teaches Sue how to be nice and helpful to people! Nina and Kelly are awesome, though. There is also a woman who works in the deli who is really friendly. Had the worst experience here when a lady employee followed me while shopping with my child, grabbed an item out of my cart then attempted to correct my use of the self check out things got weird real fast as i guess the 6 feet rule and equality doesn't apply here she then decided to get the manager for none other than to embarrass me as if I committed a crime I contacted corporate about this location I'd suggest going elsewhere to prevent discrimination. read more
