It was even warm when I purchased it, which made it seem like it had just been baked. However, when I got home, it became obvious that the bread was actually several days old and already stale. It seems like the bread may have been reheated to give the impression that it was fresh, which is very misleading to customers. If a product is not fresh, customers should be told the truth instead of being misled. Selling old bread while presenting it as fresh is not acceptable, and it makes me seriously question the overall quality and honesty

Aside, I'm a petite individual: I inquired with Customer Service if, I may " . . . borrow a Customer Service Member's height for reaching two products which are too high for me reaching." A Customer Service Member laughed when I stated I didn't want the glass bottles cracking my head, i.e., safely assisting reaching and giving me the organic, Tart Cherry Juice and the organic, Lemon Olive Oil I wanted purchasing. Moreover, I wanted purchasing BULK organic spices and organic tea as well . . . As of 11/19/25, which is early season, you can buy a 4 lb bag for $10. While I was there, one farmer was sorting the oranges out by size. Apparently, the medium ones are the most popular. You could buy small ones for $1.50 per pound. Mandarins were attractive and juicy. Update: It's the sweetest and easiest to peel of the three different bags I bought on 11/19/25. Blue Goose Produce is associated with Westview Growers. If I remember correctly, there are 1500 mandarin orange trees in their orchards, so you can buy mandarins there until April! Farmers are friendly and informative to chat with. In October 2025, I believe I spoke with the owner Mark about the Blue Goose decor. One antiquities specialist soon found him a large metallic goose after he requested it. He painted it dark blue himself. This goose gets outfit changes to match the holiday! His family has been collecting blue goose decor over many years, which you can find throughout the store. I learned that a female goose can just be called a goose. A male goose is a gander, and Gander Taphouse is in the same plaza. Yesterday I learned that mandarin oranges taste better a day or longer after they have been picked. It takes time for them to sweeten. You can find a variety of local farm goods here, such as honey, scented candles, Earth & Vine products, local Newcastle Mandarin Ranch products, and Petaluma Creamery cheeses. You can buy pies here. I might call ahead to ask about available flavors. You can find limited produce here. I've bought a large tomato, finger grapes, and a ruby grapefruit here. Came here with a group of friends and a 'tasting' was arranged for us. What a treat! The owner, a really nice and personable guy, have us a truly interesting talk on the history of the area and the specifics of farming fruit in this region. You have to admire the work and passion that goes into putting those delicious mandarin oranges, and other fruit, out to market. This is a long time family owned farm and you can sense and feel the energy and love of the place. So, there's a lot to learn and a lot to taste, including honey, flavored oils and vinegars and even soaps and candles. A great place to enjoy, learn, and to bring home some local treats.

Since we now live in the next state, it is so convenient to order online from here. Last year I ordered gifts of mandarin olive oil, mandarins, and the honey sticks. The family members loved everything! We didn't have time when we were in California, on Monday to stop, so when I got back home I placed my order. It's been a while since I have been inside Mercado Loco... let's see how they are doing!…read more Tonight, I did not bring enough of my homemade carnitas over to my clients and she was wanting carnita taquitos. So, I pulled into Mercado Loco because their carnitas is delicious! They have a very compact parking lot with a vendor on the sidewalk selling the doritos that you can put your sauce & lime on. I skipped him today and walked through those automatic doors... I know Mercado Loco has been here for decades. I grew up just around the corner and finally walked in about 5 years ago for the first time. Boy, was I missing out! At first, you notice this is a Mexican grocery store that also offers hot lunch/dinners. The price for some of their items are a little high than your typical grocery store... being that some of the items they offer are higher quality. However, sometimes, the prices do not match up when you get to the front. Cilantro had a price of $.69 on display, but I was charged $.75... it was only a tiny difference, but just putting it out there. I went straight to the hot case and a woman with a beautiful smile greeted me in Spanish and asked me what I would like. I ordered a pound of their carnitas. Oh, heck, give me some of those chichorrones, too. Next thing you know, I'm grabbing some of their hot salsa... I think their hot salsa is one of the best, hottest salsas that I have ever had that I can handle! We're talking nose running, but it's so good you can't stop! Next, I grab some king size corn tortillas. Some cilantro... they have wonderful produce available here... as well as those gorgeous purple dragon fruits when the season is right. After my pound is carnitas, pound of chicharonnes, cilantro, tortillas, and salsa... it came out to just a hair above $40! Ouch, but that is what you pay for when you want authentically cooked carnitas and chicharonnes. When I got home, I was a little disappointed that I was given some of the dried out pieces of their carnitas. When I say dry, it was too hard to eat. So I cut those parts off and tossed them (my carnitas blew their out of the water, btw.... just saying, lol.) The chicharon's were hot and miss throughout the entire time we ate them. Super hard, popping you he l can hear in your teeth, in your jaw... but some parts were delicious, succulent, crispy... yum! I love coming here earlier in the day. When I get tacos, they for 99% off the time on point! They are gorgeous and tasty... and get the HOT SALSA!

After inspection at home the smell was faint. But once cooked it almost seems like the meat had been marinated in that fabuloso fragrent liquid smell. This place is dirty and filthy. People are careless of the quality just like the owner. He use to have an other location in Rancho Cordova. But the dirty details about their specials and promotions made me sexond doubt buying anything feom there. JOKINGLY i would ask if the meat was good this time. (Its fresh we just got this batch.)

Every once in awhile, a cherry pie would have one or two pits. I'd thank God for not breaking a tooth and continue eating them and buying more. But one pie had at least a dozen pits, so I called -- not angry, but just cautioning them to be more careful. The lady was very apologetic and told me I'd get a free pie the next time I went. That next time, I chose two pies (I wanted to give them SOME money) and went to pay. I reminded them about their promise, but she just shook her head and said No. I paid for the pies and never went back.
