So I wanted to write a review about the deli department specifically but cannot so I will start by noting that the guys in the meat dept. Are top notch. They deserve 4 stars. The deli dept is ridiculous. There are some friendly employees. Some. I love the sausage breakfast burritos. Great deal for $2.99... when you can get anyone to make one. They will say anything they can to avoid having to make a damn burrito! I've heard "we're out of sausage". OK. I'll accept that. Bummer. It usually takes a few minutes to get anyone's attention. Each time I've been denied in the last month, the story is that they are out of potatoes. I go to this store daily due mostly to convenience. I've started swinging by to check the potato wedge situation in the evenings and see that there is never really a situation. Hey. Sammamish Safeway. If your employees are too busy to make breakfast burritos, take them off your menu. read more

Been using this Safeway for over 20 years, the service has gone downhill dramatically since Albertsons purchased. Front end help is almost non-existent and attitude of long timers is poor, everyone used to be extremely helpful and polite. Have actually called the manager to complain about front end service, left message, never received phone call back. Too bad, this used to be my favorite grocery, over QFC and foo foo high end groceries in Redmond. Now they are nearest, but least favorite. In addition, manually loading safeway coupons is HATEFUL. Found a google application that is very inexpensive, and autoloads coupons, just searched for "automatically load safeway coupons". Saves time, then I can waste less time getting the discount that everyone should be getting automatically!! read more

For a grocery store bakery, this Sammamish location can't be beat. I've had several birthday cakes custom ordered here and was not disappointed once. The cake is moist and soft, and the frosting choices are all quite good. There are also plenty of designs to choose from. This has become my most convenient go-to cake shop. read more

I would like to mention outstanding service of the cashier. His Name is Steve B. in Sammamish, WA Safeway. Steve is very friendly, knowledgeable and he's striving to do his job brilliantly. He has a rare gift to make you feel welcome in the store. Steve is the person, who will go extra mile to make clients happy (rare human quality - people person) and it make you want to come back to the store. It's very important for business. I hope Steve will get recognition and will get promoted soon. He can do much more for the Safeway then just a cashier. Thanks! read more

Not the best store on the plateau. Messy and not well organized. The meat is below average and the produce is old.

I want to thank Katherine for going above and beyond to help me. I had a very bad experience and another Safeway and wanted to get a phone numbers to the district mgr so I could tell him about it. She ask about my experience and apologized even though it wasn't at her store, and in fact was the only one to do so. No one at the other store even came close to it. Not only did she call around to get me the proper phone number but called the person and left them a voicemail with my info so that they would get back to me very first thing in the morning then promptly called me back and gave me the info. Safeway, you are lucky to have an employee like Katherine. Maybe you should send her to your new store in Issaquah Highlands to teach them some manners and customer service. read more

The store is decent and the people there are great. The general problem with Safeway is that they overcharge for items all the time, and I am beginning to believe it may be an intentional practice. I carefully check my receipt and I recommend you do the same. Virtually every other trip into the store I find one item or another that checks out at a significantly higher price than as marked on the shelf. Sale and "Just4U" items are particularly prone to this behavior. And each time it happens, I spend extra time at the customer service counter obtaining a refund and an apology. I recognize it's not the fault of the store personnel, so I am cordial to them. We're moving soon, and I will frankly be glad to no longer be stuck with a Safeway as the most proximate full-service grocery; if Trader Joe's in Sammamish had a superior meat and bakery, I'd never set foot in Safeway again. read more

They've slipped significantly since the Albertson's acquisition. Fresh item quality has declined, self checkouts have been removed, and lines are now crazy long with the exception of off peak times. Pricing has also gone up, and I've now had two occasions where the price tag was lower than the price that the item was scanned at. This place is a five minute walk from our house, but we don't even bother shopping here anymore, even for quick last minute things. Safeway is really quite awful. read more

Convenient. The self checkout experience is awkward, confusing, demoralizing, and ant-customer service. I just love to be stared at/video recorded while I cashier and bag my own groceries-especially when I am paying full price (uh...not). read more

Meat department had such great service, I am putting in 5 stars. I needed two pounds of Tuna Poke from them - called to make sure they had it, and by the time I got there it was all bagged up and ready to go. Perfect customer service. read more

I love this place! You can find everything you need there, even if you are looking for sometimes hard to find stuff. Wish their kosher isle would be reacher in verity. The stuff is always great. The food is fresh and the selection is good. The prices are cheaper than in the local QFC or the overpriced Whole Foods (for the same items). I very rarely shop in Costco, as this place together with the nearby Trader Joe's - totally satisfies the needs of my family of 4 plus many guests, that cooks everything from a scratch. read more

Bringing us a better shopping experience with the expansion??? I don't think so. Self checkouts ( all 8 of them ) have been removed, and they opened 3 ( as in three! ) express checkouts, of which usually only one is open. Saturday afternoon, huge crowd in store and altogether three cashiers were open. The lines were so long people were standing in the aisles. A joke. Produce is supposed to be fresh but almost everyday I see rotten and moldy produce ( today it was the rutabaga ). I'd rather make the drive to QFC at Pine lake or just Trader Joe's next door. Clearly the management never read the memo that bigger not always equals better... read more

The pharmacy staff at this store needs to be retired and replaced. Utter incompetence is pervasive, consistently making mistakes ranging from: not ensuring prescriptions are ready prior to overseas travel in spite of multiple reminders, not honoring advertised promotions, not processing prescriptions correctly, not loading promotional gift card with any value (Kyung), bad attitude - multiple occasions (Jennifer). Long lines are to be expected. Many medications not kept in stock will mean additional delay to prescription readiness particularly if the prescription is dropped off on a Friday or before a holiday. Or you may be told to pick up a partial prescription and come back on a different day to get the remainder (after you park, wait in line, etc.). Prices are significantly higher on some products when compared to competitors. The only saving grace is that it is the only full service grocery store (Trader Joes and Met Market don't count) in the Northend of Sammamish. This is also the reason this pharmacy is the primary place most people go to which is why there are so many issues. Issues that will continue to grow along with all of the growth in this area of Sammamish. The pharmacy is woefully understaffed in addition to their incompetence. Lastly, I have experienced blatant racism by the staff so people of color, be forewarned that you may experience unwarranted attitudes, extra scrutiny when utilizing advertised pharmacy programs/promotions and complete indifference to your health care, your concerns and your needs. read more

The Sammamish Safeway has gone down hill since the acquisition. I have no idea how the remodel improved the store at all...Most importantly...check your receipts!!! The discounts that you've loaded on your app are consistently not coming off. This last week, with going to the store, twice, I was shorted a total of $15.00 For an average family of 3...that would come close to $800 a year! With a modest estimate of 10,000 shoppers a year, Safeway is ripping of the Sammamish community by at least $8,000,000 a year! I've consistently brought this up with customer service and I've been told that they doubt Safeway will ever do anything about it! read more

I've visited this location two times a week for the past 10 years and first time to leave this thank you note. I arranged Church BBQ party and needed about 200 lbs stake. Checked with most places and could not get any better deal. During the Memorial weekend sales, Safeway had great deal. I understood that this price was very special and volume is limited to individual customers. Anthony, the manager at the meat department, understood my need and discussed with general manager and came out with reasonable price. However, I am writing this note not because he gave me the special price, but because he gave us superb quality stake, that's 220 lbs. About 300 members of our church all enjoyed the stake and they were all surprised as it was such nice. I knew Anthony and his crew had to work hard to prepare the stakes. I am so thankful for their hard work and especially his initiative to help a customer's need. read more

I have been going to this Safeway for almost 7 years, in the past year it has deteriorated so much that today may just be my last time, from the unfriendliness of the checkers, (the on I had today not a word, no hello, no hows your day...zip nothing. I use the Safeway ap to take advantage of fuel point deals, today I had a coupon for $.40 in gas if I purchased $110, I spent 190 and no extra points. I called and talked to someone in customer service after being on hold for 20 minutes, she proceeded to tell me that because I bought a gift card that does not apply to purchases, and I was supposed to also get double points for the $100 gift card, nothing, she was snappy on the phone and short, I finally hung up as I was tired of hearing about the excuses. Maybe somewhere it may say that, if it does it's so unclear, the website does not really tell you enough details, you seem to have to go look for them, to me it borders on a deceiving way to attract customers, I have put in a complaint the state of Washington attorney general, I think thy need to be a lot clearer about what you really get when you shop there. For me I will think long and hard about going back, I will spend a little more and go somewhere else, but at least I will be greeted and be appreciated for my business. read more

I usually don't write reviews, but I have to say I'm an local in the area started coming here to this Safeway because of the service, first time we moved up there we had to fill water. At first a few people didn't know where it was because they moved it, or was under repair. We needed water so Brett help me out. This was a few months ago. Recently my wife wanted to buy fresh flowers and have it look nicer we asked around for some help and guy from produce I think his name is mark, told his the florist people leave at 7pm, but he offered to help us, then yesterday Helen, was just so patient and kind my wife bought the wrong baby food, and she waited for us to exchange it. There is an stock person named Eric always ready to help too. I been to the qfc, and metropolitan market, Fred Meyers and never received this kind of consistent effort and kindness.
