Hugely disappointed. Ran to grab toilet paper, finally in stock. Got there 4 minutes to close and they refused to let us in. We said we would be in and out, and they are still open - they were extremely confrontational and rude, telling us not to come back with "those attitudes". I usually have a good experience at this store, but yesterday, not so much. I went in for just a few things, one being eggs. I really dont like buying large eggs as they are more like smasl. But lately, everytime i go in, all they have is large. No extra large or jumbo. I have to use more eggs in recipes, as I said, large is like small. Then, we had decided to have fried chicken for dinner. So, i went to the deli snd got the 8 piece pak. WORST Chicken ever. It tasted like it was a week old. No seasoning, dry, tasteless. We ended up picking the meat from the bone and feeding the dogs. Wont buy chicken there again. read more

My Tip says it all. The customer service sucks here... and pretty much at any Safeway. I approached a manager and deli worker and said, "Excuse me." They turned their backs and walked away into the back room behind the deli. If you need help or have a question the only people that you can find are behind the registers. So, unless you know where everything is and don't have any questions I would not recommend shopping here. read more

This place is always clean and easy to find what I need. It's walking distance to my home and the fruits and veggies are always fresh. Starbucks is great to get a coffee while shopping. All the carts wheels work perfectly and I never have any issues. read more

The pharmacy is a joke. I do not recommend them for your pharmaceutical needs. Our prescription was called in the morning and by the time we picked it up in the evening, they still hadn't checked their messages to fill the prescription, made us wait only to tell me that they didn't have the medication there. read more

This Safeway used to be such a great Safeway. Everyone was so friendly and nice and greeted you when you came in, I loved shopping there. Over the last year it seems the people who work there are not so friendly or helpful. I don't know if the management has changed but the people sure have.I stuck with this Safeway just because of the friendly people but I think now I will look for a new place to shop probably Fry's across the street. read more

Been shopping here exclusively for 7 years. They recently took out the self checkout and now it's a nightmare. A quick trip in and out no longer exists. Was there on Thursday getting balloons filled for a work event. It was early so the store was not terribly busy. I was walking towards the floral counter and saw nobody was there to assist. There were two female employees walking together passing me when I asked the blonde female if there was someone to help me. Without saying one word she walked to the counter picked up the phone and paged a customer service member to floral. She then hung up and began to walk away when I said thank you, which was unacknowledged. However, the male the actually came over was there quickly and very helpful. He did a great job! The cashier was also pleasant. The Helium prices are a little pricier but it was convenient to where I work. read more

I love this safeway, the staff is very nice and helpful and help you locate stuff and we found a 200 corkscrew on the back clearance table for 17.50...and also we bought a bunch of boxes of health food cereal for 50% off, so it was 2 bucks a box and i also got some hair color and some hair shine treatment back there all half off...good day at Safeway!! I have frequent this store for over 10 years, generally most of the employees are great, they offer a breakfast and lunch at the deli and that's the only problem with this store, there is hardly someone that can prepare your order correctly. I literally have to go searching around embarrassing for the special employees that I feel confident able to put together something as simple as a breakfast burrito, the manager should start focusing on their deli . read more

Bring back the self checkout. The lines are too long at the so called express lines. Now I head to Frys, across the street, when I'm picking up a few things. Also, what's up with the assorted warm wings counter, which has all but replaced the healthier roasted chicken, and turkey breast. Scores of shoppers grabbed the roasted chicken to provide their families with a healthy, quick dinner. Chicken wings, fried and sauced or coated with bread crumbs, etc and fried are no substitute. The cashiers are rude, tonight my wife was treated horribly. The Cashier clearly had an attitude towards my wife because She did not speak perfect English, we have had a problem with the same woman before. Wish I could attach a picture here because it's a bit ironic -- we ordered our daughter's college graduation cake from Safeway; got it to the venue safely and then discovered "congratulations" was spelled incorrectly! There were a lot of punny jokes as a result and I have to say everyone ate it anyway! I would have been more impressed with Safeway, though, if, when I pointed out the problem to the customer service KID the following Monday, he had cared one iota that we paid for something we didn't get. I have been going to Vons for over 30 years in California, Navada and Arizona. This was my first visit to Scottsdale (Safeway) which joined with Vons. I have never went to a store with worse customer service than this store. First I forgot to get my bread after putting all my food off my cart, instead of the cashier saying "would you like some one to get it" I had to put all my groceries in the basket and go get my own bread. I then got in line with my Vons card that I have had for about 27 years to do a smart check that I have been been doing for 26 years and getting cash back as needed. I have went to several Albertsons and Safeway stores that didn't know the smart check system. At no store was I treated the way I was treated at this one when I tried to explain to the cashier that I wanted cash back (he made me feel like I was lying) " we don't give cash back on checks and your Vons card is for discounts only" I explained he was incorrect. Manager was called he spoke to the cashier who said I wanted cash back on a check, I tried to clarify smart check ( I was basically ignored by manager of 1 yr Anthony) who stated we don't give cash back on checks and walked away. I looked at the cashier who looked at me and asked if I wanted to use a charge card (the only way to get cash back), I declined and followed the promps and the computer told him to give me 40$ cash. "How did you do that?" Smart check. I spoke with Anthony once more he explained that smart checks are new to them, not I'm sorry for any inconvenience, not thank you for bringing this training issue to my attention. I am usually not real sensitive about racism but I believe it played a part in my treatment. I told him that I would be writing his corporate office and I got a so what attitude from him. I am use to much more professional service from Vons now I know why I never really shopped at Safeway. You know I don't mind if you don't like me that's your right, but as a professional you need to project appropriate professionalism. I would not recommend visiting this grocery store (especially for a person of color) next time I will try Fry's it is across the street. I spoke to a few other people of color and their experience has been somewhat equivalent to mine, but their approach is that is the way it is! read more

Nice store. Well lit and clean. The checkers there are very friendly. Except the last time I was there. My checker had to ask the manager( Amanda) a question, after the manager was done chit chatting and laughing with the self checkout guy she eventually made her way over, but not before I noticed her roll her eyes in annoyance of being bothered. Now they are finally selling Shamrock products and sometimes the prices are much cheaper than the Fry's across from the street. However I've been shopping at the store late at night and usually there's only 1 employee working at the front end and few of the times the employee have no idea how to answer customers questions. I felt like this location is deserted compare to other 2 nearby Safeway stores. read more
