This is my favorite Safeway ever! It feels very upscale. The shelves are always well-stocked. The staff is friendly. I rarely ever have a substitution in my pick-up orders either. Honestly it is 100 times better than our Safeway in our old neighborhood. read more

Great layout! Even though it's large it seemed easy to navigate especially since I'm moving slow right now. We didn't make it in during the grand opening week but there were still coupons for certain items on particular days. After Thanksgiving I planned for green smoothies for the next week or two. I was able to get everything in a short period of time. The staff were helpful and polite even the one in produce who wasn't familiar with the rest of the store. After all, I did ask for chia and flaxseeds. :-) There were several staffed registers open and the checkout we chose was because the associate was standing out front waiting for customers. That was welcoming. Her service was great. I prefer a different grocery store with lower prices. My husband prefers Safeway. This location may see me more often. The pic is my purchase less the honey and agave nectar. I was glad I got everything in one stop. I even bought Egg Nog for closer to the Christmas holiday. Yum. read more

Great addition to the neighborhood! I've been waiting for a closer grocery store to open, and this place is perfect! I really enjoy the quick meals that are packaged and ready to be cooked for last minute dinner plans. I cook a lot of Asian cuisines, so seeing their spice selection was satisfying since the closest Asian store is almost about 10x farther. I highly recommend using the app to take advantage of the weekly deals. read more

Pharmacy at this location is terrible. I had a prescription called from another store 2 days ago. They said they had my item when I got there. They only had half of it. I had to drive all over to get there only to be disappointed in their service. The pharmacist helper was incompetent read more

What an awesome Safeway location. Nice large parking lot. Though Peoria is a 2 lane road and during morning and afternoon rush hour, you may want to avoid. Largest Safeway I have ever been to. Safeway to me has the sexiest produce in our city. Being opening week they had some great sales on a lot of things. Christmas Trees, fire wood, including beautiful birch even. Safeway is a great place my family shops at when they have sales, for produce, and to find new items to try when looking to spruce up my husband's lunch. Their bakery is fantastic!!! I really like the parking lot and space it provides for parking. The employees we super friendly. It wasn't crazy busy when I went even though we went. Though they had just opened it didn't feel like a grand opening where learning was in progress. Smooth sailing. read more

What a smooth and HUGE turn out. This area has been in massive need of a grocery store for so long. The city is growing so fast and the grocery stores are thin on this side of the 303. Today was obviously jam packed with people, but besides having to drive around in the parking lot for a bit it wasn't too bad inside. The location is quite large and it's set up very nice. It of course holds a Starbucks as well. The store was very organized service great and even though it was super busy I didn't have to wait more than a few minutes to check out. I don't shop at Safeway as often as I would because prices can be steep; REALLY steep. Today I only needed certain things, wanted to check out the new store and they had some really great sales on things I buy often. The lot is shared with a few other businesses including a nail salon, Pilates, sports clips and a dentist. Soon to also be a McDonald's and I believe a Taco Bell as well. read more

We we're traveling back to California and looking for a Starbucks when we landed here. As we were driving down the street I did not think we would land anywhere as it's a new development. We kept driving and found Starbucks inside Safeway. Super clean and friendly customer service. We were able to get our coffee, snacks and a breakfast burrito from the deli. Will keep this location saved for future stops when we're in Arizona. read more

Was so stoked to get a store closer To home. It's beautiful inside for sure! But tonight I ordered poultry (chicken legs) RAW not cooked. It smelled the entire house of rotten eggs. Every time we go and buy fruit it goes bad within a couple of days, I keep wanting to give them more chances because hello it's convenient but they're gonna get someone very sick from their bad produce. read more

The prices might be cheaper but the customer service at this store is horrible. I would rather pay more at bashas and get the quality I'm used to than save a few bucks and shop here. On more than one occasion have I gotten home and carried in my groceries, only for the bags to rip apart and break all over my porch. I have a huge scar on my toe from a poorly bagged glass bottle, that shattered on my front porch and sliced my toe open. Genuinely don't know if the money is being taken from the employees paycheck for how many bags are used, but that is the only option I can reason with as to why they are bagging 29 items in one bag. read more

Beautiful new store and very convenient. However lately this Safeway store is out of their advertised products. I've run into this problem every week for a while. Example today Saturday 9:30 am they were out of ground beef on sale for 3.49 a lb. I asked the butcher if they had any in the back his comment was I'll have to ground some up I asked him how long he said about 20 minute or so because he said he was kinda busy and had other things to do, meanwhile the cooler was completely out of this product. I was surprised and disappointed on his comment. As a former assistant manager for Safeway I never heard an employee talk to a customer in that manner didn't seem to matter if he had a satisfied customer or not. He just didn't care. read more

Horrible customer service and prices are $1 higher on average than Fryes. Purchased the Traditional Turkey Dinner and received a frozen solid turkey. Assistant Manager added zero value. All she could do is repeat "that's how we do it". She did nothing to try and make it right. How about you provide thawed turkeys? Or maybe offer to thaw one? Nothing. Avoid this place!!! read more

From the Safeway at Cotton Lane and Peoria I had ordered from the app groceries to be delivered when they were delivered to the wrong house and I called the store the manager was incredibly rude and informed me that well their groceries were delivered by Uber and that's who I had to deal with that's it so I would never because of her rudeness I would never shop at that store again nor would I ever purchase anything from that store read more

The Starbucks in this Safeway is one of the better in-store Starbucks locations I have been to. The customer service was great from Emma which goes along with the delicious food and coffee that was served to me. All in all this is my favorite location in Surprise and will be returning soon! read more
