Stopped by here on Sunday night for dinner. This place has modern decor and is very clean. I love that it's open on Sundays. We dined in, but you can get takeout as well. The staff are really kind and want to make sure that everyone has a pleasant dining experience. The food is great, no matter what you choose. We started with the samosas and the waiter suggested we try it with the chicken tikka. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and my husband had the chicken coconut korma. You can choose the spice level. Excellent flavors. The naan is a must to dip into the sauces. I will definitely eat here again. This is the type of place where I would ask the staff about specials or other options to try that may not be on the menu. Everything is made fresh when you order. I can't wait to eat here again! We eat at saffron circle about every 2 months. It's delicious. With covid we haven't eaten at the restaurant for a while. When we had we really liked the friendly and attentive staff. Loved this place, great service. The Chicken Tikka Masala was phenomenal mouth watering deliciousness. We ordered one serving of it with the Garlic Naan and it perfect. The service was on another level. My girlfriend and I were searching for someplace to eat a later dinner and in Utah everything closes early. So late dinners at a restaurant are nearly impossible. We saw Saffron Circle and the OPEN sign was on but we stopped for something else at another store real quick and then came over to Saffron and they had closed 10 mins ago. They still took our order and served us food and drinks. Tell me another place that'll do that... it doesn't exist. You need to eat here. They love their customer. read more

Saffron Circle was clean and we were promptly greeted at the door. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we were sat right away. The first gentleman that we spoke with helped us pick out an appetizer. He then proceeded to try to push us into another appetizer and it took several no's before he accepted it. The next gentleman came and started suggesting drinks and dishes. Again it took several no's before he stopped and took our orders. The food took a really long time to come to the table. I understand the current situation so this was somewhat expected. The food was sub par. The curries had a strong tomato paste flavor. The food was more in line with a quick curry shop. Not a full restaurant that charges $14 a curry. Skip this restaurant. Over-priced lack luster food and drinks. Pushy service for even more expensive dishes. read more

Food is amazing! I've been to both dinner and the lunch buffet and it was great. If you need a solid place to bring a client that has great ambience, awesome interior design, and isn't too noisy come here. I love the revolving buffet options at lunch and everything is so delicious. I always try and seek out Indian food when I travel because I love it so much. Wow did this place ever go downhill, in addition to directly defrauding/decepting our group! I was excited to bring some friends to this place for dinner, as I had been here probably 8 times over the years and had no issues. Unfortunately I was very embarassed having my friends go through this experience and will absolutely never return. See why below. Time of visit: Weekend evening, it was not very busy inside. In fact they immediately seated 6 of us. We could see multiple employees standing around. Bussers were playing rock paper scissors to see who should have to clean up a table, etc. They did not seem overwhelmed. Service: The server seemed very irritated with us being there and was kind of rude with taking our order, it felt 'off' from the start. Our water ran out pretty quickly but was eventually refilled by the bus staff. Our food orders all came out at different times which didn't make sense given the quality (see below), and had items completely missed. We had to ask several times for help with getting takeaway boxes and even the check, since we didn't see our waiter ever again after ordering. Only the bussers. I'll add specific content on "paying" below, since that's a huge part of this rating. A table next to us was getting highly irritated at how hard it was to get any server's attention. I watched her eventually just get up from her seat and go manually ask the guy for her check. Cleanliness: Both the metal cups used for water and my plates were still dirty. This is not how it was in the past. I had to scrape flakes of old food off of my plate to use it. And the cups were still wet and did not look clean, either from being pulled quickly out of the dish washer or from previously being used (hoping not the latter, but I wouldn't put it past them after this). Food Quality: My fried Chicken 65 was good. My curry (Butter Chicken) was cold, and tasted old. It also had literally no flavor as it has had in the past and neither did the Biryani we ordered. I should taste the spices, there were none. The plain naan was somehow wet? People at the table also complained that their food was old tasting, and cold. I ended up getting sick off of this meal, both an upset stomach and a headache, and unfortunately tossed the entire bag of leftovers (of which I took home probably 70% of what I ordered). Paying: We had to ask a busser to help us pay, or to help get our check, after sitting there for over 30 minutes with no one even checking in. They did immediately go get someone, phew. A guy did not bring out our check however. Instead, he showed up with a credit card machine. When going to pay, he said "we included the gratuity", told me to mark "zero" on the tip amount, and would not show us the itemized actual receipt. I thought this was a little odd, but assumed it must be one of those auto included things when you have a table of 6 or something. Where an appropriate tip amount would be 18-20% from the restaurant selection. Even with regrettably awful service and bad food. I swiped my card, and signed, hoping I'd see the details after. But I didn't. So instead, I took a look at their menu, pulled up my items, added the tax, and calculated the amount they put in as a tip. THEY TIPPED THEMSELVES 35%!!! So not only bad food, but bad service, they had the deceptive audacity to sneak themselves a 35% tip. That's unbelievable and unacceptable. I wonder how many people don't notice this happening there. While it's only probably $5-10 per table, it's theft. And fraud. Trust me, fighting this crap has been my career for 20 years. This experience triggered a memory that I had completely forgotten about at a partner location under the same ownership from about 8-10 years ago (Saffron Valley). Where I paid for a $10 buffet, and the guy added an additional $5 to my charge (after I added my own tip) by manually using the CC machine. I caught him, and called it out on the spot, as well as wrote to the owners about it. Where they ensured this would never happen again. Well, years later, at a new location, it did happen again. And it tells me it's a top down issue. Making it easy enough for me to never give any of their locations another shot. read more

We went on a Saturday night at 630pm. We were a party of 4. They seemed to be about 70% full inside. We asked to sit outside (one of the reasons we chose the restaurant was for it's outdoor seating). We were told they were short staffed so they were not seating people outside. I loved the decor and the open kitchen concept. It was quite warm inside though and we had a few pesty flies that would not leave us alone. Other than that.. they really have done a great job of making the environment inviting , relaxing, and comfortable. After being seated for 10 minutes we were approached and told that there was only 1 supervisor and 1 server on staff so she was really busy but would get to us with water soon. After 20 minutes we were asked if we wanted water. I noticed their were two girls at reception and 1 was cleaning windows.. I think its important to cross train staff so when you end up short staffed, you can fill the spots. No one should have been cleaning windows when tables were needing to be cleared and diners had no water. Our server tried to make the best of a bad situation, I'll give them that. But no one wants to go out and drop $100 for 4 people and not have good service. Regardless of why the service was lacking. I get it, people call out but they needed to better utilize the staff on hand and have a back up for these situations. Food was just ok. I eat Indian Food out a lot and have eaten at most of the restaurants in the area. Other than the atmosphere this restaurant has nothing better to offer than other local places. The tikki chicken was way too salty, the noodles were way overcooked. The rice dish I ordered was super spicy even though I ordered mild (I like spice but this was just too much to enjoy the balance of flavors for me) The tikki masala was good but not as good as others and the price here was higher. I wanted this to be a new go-to place, especially since the decor is so nice. This place missed the mark though on food and service. Too many other good choices at a better price to go back to this place. Too bad though. read more

First impression, a see-thru kitchen, that takes a lot of confidence to show it off! I like that! The decor is modern and wonderful here, unlike other places where the lighting is poor and you can barely read the menu ugh.. Service was alright, the manager/greeter showed great hospitality at the beginning and checked on us after we had finished eating. Albeit, our waitress forgot to bring straws that we have asked for, and four of our orders got mixed up. Mistakes do happen.. The thing that made me give you 3 stars regardless of the wow factor and the "good" service in overall, is the food quality. I like to consider myself an Indian food connoisseur, and I am used to the heat that is inherent to Indian food. I deemed this elaborate review worth writing because I owe you guys some constructive criticism. The Naan and the Roti were okay. The samosa was a major disappointment, tasteless.. bland.. The Biryani was not done right, I think it was the rice. The chicken Tikka Masala and the Lamb Vindaloo were for some reason sweet, they should not! Maybe they lacked enough tomatoes acidity that usually offsets the sweetness of the coconut milk. Because this was my first time, I decided to be cautious and I requested a mild Lamb Vindaloo, well.. I was served a very spicy one, that's two grades above what I requested. I usually can handle from mild to medium, but man that was too much fuego! I could not finish it. I believe that spiciness is subjective, mild to one is spicy to another. At the end I ordered a side of rice to go, which is not a lot.. and I think that $3.50 is very steep. They have great soups and we really enjoyed the nan. We get concerned about how spicy Indian food can be. They don't do anything really hot. There is some heat but not enough to ruin your day. My wife and I got the lamb chops and chicken saag with garlic naan. When we eventually got the food it was excellent. The service on the other hand was pretty abysmal. It took over an hour to get our food and we were just about to pay for our wine and walk out and order something at the sandwich shop next door when they finally delivered it. I'm about 95% certain that our waitress forgot to put our order in with the kitchen which is completely reasonable because she was slammed with three whole tables. To be honest I would give this place 5 stars no question if the waitress had at least checked in on a regular cadence as opposed to disappearing for 15 to 20 minutes at a time. read more

We've been here several times and they do not disappoint. The ambiance is lovely warm, staff is kind, and kids will feel comfortable here. There are several menu items that I haven't had an any other Indian restaurant and they're all worth trying. The butter chicken samosas and cheese and corn pakoras are to die for. We have now been to Saffron Circle 3 times. Every time has been really good. Last night we had our neighborhood Christmas party there in a private area on the second level. It was awesome.
