We left our last couple visits to Saffron disappointed. It seems they're adding more artificial dyes and coloring to the food which we actually asked about after our vegetable dishes had an orange glow to them. Unfortunately, it seems many Indian restaurants add artificial coloring and dye instead of using spices/herbs. The plating was below average as it was not only sloppy, but the sauces were placed on our table in plastic rather than glass. Although we always order veggie pakoras, this plate only had four pieces and again, the plating was sloppy. We decided to take a break and not return, at least for a while. Also, we are definitely NOT a fan of their robot and prefer no contact with it. We do prefer a person greeting us, taking our order, and serving. Their wait staff has always been professional and pleasant although rarely familiar with the menu.

A little early for an update, but what the heck. Saffron is our go-to for Indian food in the Tucson area, either take out or eat in. The eat in experience is great. Both inside and outside seating is pleasant and upscale. Service is prompt and attentive. A full bar and an imaginative bar menu, along with a nice selection of Indian beers. We did veggie samosas for an appetizer, my BH and dining partner got her normal "national food of the UK" chicken tiki masala and I got the chicken tandoori. All tasty. There are several Indian place in the Tucson NE, make sure you give Saffron a try.

Indian buffet with reasonable AYCE lunch special! No issues with the service. The staff were all kind and brought water pitchers to the table so we could fill up on our own. There was a nice bar to pair with the spacious interior of the restaurant to foster a nice feel. Food wasn't bad, but felt the buffet was much more quantity over quality. Still a fun way to try lots of Indian dishes!

Fantastic variety and cost-quality-quantity ratio!!! They had a little live dosa station that was delish and a fun addition to the buffet itself. I have had slightly more flavorful curries in the past, but i'm being super nitpicky here. It's solid food a very cute space both inside and on the patio.

We enjoyed the buffet at this restaurant. Great ambiance, decor and service . The deserts at the buffet weren't that great but food was good overall. The mango lassi is to die for!

A nicely decorated Indian Restaurant with a nice casual decor. Friendly wait staff. I do not have a lot of experience with Indian Cuisine however if it tastes good I am game . We ordered both the garlic and cheese naan, the chicken tikka masala and the chicken biryani. The naan was nicely flavored good garlic flavor. The chicken biryani was amazingly flavored with large pieces of chicken. A large portion that is almost enough for two. The chicken tikka masala flavorful nice tomato and spices also with large chucks of chicken. A nice dinner option other than the norm. Happy eating all!

We really like this Indian restaurant and wish it was closer to our side of Tucson. We saw online that they were open this particular Tuesday for gem show visitors in town. Tuesday is the day we're on that side of town, so we took advantage of this. We had the buffet which had a nice variety of popular dishes. There was something for everyone. The food was hot and looked fresh for a buffet. We close to sit on the patio since it was a nice day. We went to the larger patio which had several tables and some interesting decor. Our server, Andy, was great, very personable and checked on us frequently. The bathrooms were clean and large, too.

The staff was friendly and the service was great! The food was good; however, one dish wasn't as spicy as we requested. Overall, we had a positive experience and would return again.

Lunch buffet here should not be missed! Lots of options as well as vegetarian options. It stays pretty busy and food getting restocked often. Right under $16 per person. The space is big and with plenty of seating! The food is bomb! I love all the dishes! The only thing I pass on is the fish. Pics are from 2 different times we've came here.

What are the best dishes to order for someone who is sensitive to spice, please? I love it, but some of my family cannot tolerate spicy food.

You can order any dish and ask it to be prepared without hot spices. That is the wonderful thing about Indian cuisine - it can be customized.

Good Service and Excellent food…read more Best dishes: 1) Beef Chow Fun (it's my standard for reviewing Chinese restaurants), fresh noodles, tender beef and great "wok hei". Portion was huge too. 2) Salt and Pepper Shrimp (maybe this was my favorite) - very lightly breaded and fried. Could be quite spicy, but I asked for mild. We devoured this. 3) Shrimp in Lobster Sauce - the shrimp here, like above, cooked to perfection. 4) Beef in Black Bean Sauce. "Velveted" tender beef and just so savory. Just okay: Lemon chicken. Chicken (breast meat) pieces seemed just a tad overdone, and the sauce was not very lemony. I'd go sweet and sour next time and there will definitely be a next time. I took a picture, but it was focused on the group than the food, so skipped it.

Chicken fried rice was dark and looked like it had lots of soy sauce, but after tasting it, the color wasn't from the soy sauce, it was probably from the cooking of the rice. War won ton soup was ok, not used to having it with zucchini and snap peas. Would have preferred it some won bok cabbage and some bamboo shoots. Some other reviews said there isn't any MSG in the food. I wonder if there is an option to add MSG, I think it would taste better. Everything could have used more salt in my opinion. Forgot to take pictures... I'll be back when in the area!

We arrived around 7:30 p.m., and the restaurant doesn't close until 9:30 p.m. Not even 20 minutes after we sat down, while there were still plenty of customers coming in and the restaurant was nearly full, the staff had already started removing food trays and weren't replacing them. It felt like they were shutting the buffet down long before closing time. To make matters worse, employees were mopping the floors around our feet while we were still eating, leaving the floors extremely slippery and making us feel rushed. The BBQ/sushi area closed at 8:30 p.m., and there were only three plates of dried-out sushi left. We never even got the chance to try the BBQ station they advertise. The desserts were dry and unappetizing, and overall the food was bland and lacked flavor. We spent $112 for dinner, plus a $20 tip because our server was attentive, friendly, and deserved it. The service from him was the only positive part of our visit. For the price, this experience was not worth it. I do not recommend this restaurant and will not be returning.

We came here for a business meeting. There were appetizers being walked around which included meatballs with marinara, spinach rolls, and mini chicken quesadillas. The appetizers were delightful and warm despite not being on a warmer. The staff was friendly and helped to make for a good event. They were interactive with the guests and attentive to ensure areas were kept clear when individuals were done eating. They had games setup that were fun. The entire function was outdoor but they had fire pits going since it was cool outside. They also have an indoor area available from what it looked like. Restrooms are on property and indoors. When it was time for the actual meal -- everything was buffet and even had an open pit grill for firing of all the steaks. I'm not a steak eater but everyone raved at how good they were. They had veggies, potato salad, hot dogs, fries, salad, grilled salmon and chicken. So plenty of options available. I wasn't a huge fan of anything I put on my plate. The grilled veggies (zucchini and squash) were crunchy and needed salt, more flavor. Was very bland. The hot dog was cold despite being grilled. But since not on a warmer it got cold due to the cool weather. Recommend to place the hotdogs perhaps in the grill area on the other side and serve freshly grilled. Fries were extremely cold and just not good. They were just in a pan and but on a warmer. Recommend placing warm food under a heat lamp or on a warming tray. I opted to just eat apple cobbler for my dinner.

Mexican food was going to be too heavy so I opted for a healthier choice. I searched Yelp and I discovered this place. I arrived too early, about an hour early; so I went to Starbucks across the street. After babysitting my coffee for about an hour, I cruised back to Linh Nam's! Of course I was the first customer. A very nice lady seated me with a menu. I browsed the menu searching for something light and something that wouldn't bog me down on my bike ride. I ended up ordering Shrimp and vegetables with fried rice, egg roll, and Hot & Sour Soup. When the server placed the plate in front of me, I was surprised how full the plate was. The food was excellent! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. Even the fried rice was delicious as a lot of Chinese restaurants serve meh fried rice. Do you want to know the most surprising thing? This meal only cost $12.00! This was off their lunch menu! If you want a delicious Chinese quality meal that won't break the bank, give this place a try!
