Linh -Nam was just what the doctor ordered! The food was delicious! I was cruising on the Harley and I wanted to have lunch in Tucson which is about 90 miles away from where I live. Mexican food was going to be too heavy so I opted for a healthier choice. I searched Yelp and I discovered this place. I arrived too early, about an hour early; so I went to Starbucks across the street. After babysitting my coffee for about an hour, I cruised back to Linh Nam's! Of course I was the first customer. A very nice lady seated me with a menu. I browsed the menu searching for something light and something that wouldn't bog me down on my bike ride. I ended up ordering Shrimp and vegetables with fried rice, egg roll, and Hot & Sour Soup. When the server placed the plate in front of me, I was surprised how full the plate was. The food was excellent! The shrimp was cooked perfectly and the vegetables were crisp and flavorful. Even the fried rice was delicious as a lot of Chinese restaurants serve meh fried rice. Do you want to know the most surprising thing? This meal only cost $12.00! This was off their lunch menu! Wish I would've never gone. Left 75% of both meals on the table. $48 including tip. My husband is still sick to his stomach. Shrimp were covered in garlic sauce to hide that they were 'off', my tofu was nearly unrecognizable and had bits of something hard like sand from poorly washed veg? Not sure what is up with this place. Maybe it was a super bad day? Portion size was good had quality been better. Place was clean. Awful Awful Awful - Spicy General Tao's Chicken was not spicy, but just the opposite, too sweet to eat. Cashew chicken was too salty to eat. Egg rolls and dumplings were over cooked. The name has stayed the same, but the owners, cooks, atmosphere, recipes, menus and servers are all new. While it's not our traditional Tucson fusion Linh-nahm, it's a good second. My favorite is the No MSG printed right on the front of the menu! So how is the flavor? These guys can cook. No MSG and the flavor is great. No single notes here. If you go expecting the old food style, you might be disappointed. Don't let nostalgia and tradition stop you. The prices are excellent and the food is high quality. If it stays this way, Tucson has an amazing restaurant and the tradition of Linh-nahm will continue. I look forward to visiting again. I heard from a friend that this "new" restaurant (new owners in a former location) was really good. We came for lunch and were warmly greeted by I believe the owner. The restaurant itself is in a strip mall and nothing fancy. It was very busy and everyone's dishes as they came out looked great. We ordered Szechwan tofu and honey walnut shrimp. The food was delicious and the honey walnut shrimp was the best we've ever had! We have been telling all our friends because I believe this is the best Chinese restaurant in the Tucson/Marana area. read more

We must have been there at a very off time given all the superlatives in other reviews. Cucumber salad was drenched in soy sauce and salt. Expected a bright ginger sesame dressing. I've been eating here since I was a kid, so I was sad to hear that the business was sold to new owners. Unfortunately, the food quality has gone down exponentially. The decor is arguably one of the most Chinese-looking in Tucson. It's really a unique setting. Service is A1 - our waiter was super-friendly and personable. Food: mixed bag, I think it's one of those places where you have to know what to order. I had the Lo mein with tofu, and the only thing I tasted was soy sauce. My wife had the Cheng Tu and she absolutely loved it - as you can see from the picture below it had nice mushrooms and other veggies for a great dish. Next time I go I will ask the server what they do well so I can order better. Portions were a little small - some of the other chinese restaurants we go to always provide enough food in one order for two meals, where mine was more lunch-sized. This place was really good! A small restaurant with friendly and engaging staff. I always love it when a Chinese restaurant has lemon chicken. It seems like they all have orange chicken but only some restaurants are cool enough to have lemon chicken. Their soup stocks are very good and made at the restaurant. Went for lunch, the Szechuan Chicken was excellent, the Hot and Sour soup was both nicely spicy and hot. The fried rice was not the very best I've had, but combined with the Szechuan sauce it was very tasty. Price was reasonable. Nice ambiance, I'd go back again when in town. Online ordering for pickup with a lot of customization options. Ok: Sesame orange tofu, vegetable soup (if you're sick, otherwise too boring), tofu delight Meh: chao mein (not the classic chao mein flavor), Buddha vegetables (very sweet, which I am not used to), spring rolls Very friendly staff who will accommodate food restrictions. However, their interpretation may not match yours. When my husband was told he couldn't have their Szechuan tofu because the sauce wasn't vegetarian, they said they'd "make him a different tofu dish and make it spicy." This turned out to be plain tofu and vegetables (tofu delight) with a spicy sauce paste on the side which he could add. It was nearly identical to the Buddha vegetables dish, just slightly less sweetly sauced and with the bit of spice in a side container. They give the tiniest takeout containers of rice with your order that I've ever seen, yet their prices are not cheaper than other places. The veg or tofu soups are the only soups with a vegetarian broth because the vegetables are cooked to make the soup itself. Many dishes that you wouldn't guess have oyster sauce, such as Szechuan or steamed vegetables in garlic sauce, so let them know if you are a strict vegetarian or vegan. What an amazing little place. I went here with pretty low expectations to be honest. I have not had the best time finding good spots here coming from Vegas. Fred welcomes you in and is unbelievably dedicated and proud of this family business- since 1985! Decided to give this place a try considering it had 4 stars, ordered online loved the website and ordering was very easy. Pick up was on time and I was very excited to try. I ordered chicken broccoli with rice 2 wontons and potstickers. Potstickers were not good, never been to a place with bad potstickers so this was a first. Broccoli chicken was so bland and tasted like they used a store bought sauce and that was it, no seasonings. The cream cheese wontons were put in the same packaging as the chicken so it had been sitting in the sauces, it was soggy upon eating. Will not be returning. read more

Ordered Gen Tso's chicken. First place Ive been to that serves it as a flat beaten down almost dumpling like piece of food. Sauce tasted like soy sauce that was thickened. They have amazing customer service -- call in and tell them what you'd like (even if you're like me and you're not sure what a dish was called... don't worry, you describe it and they can help!) and they'll hook you up. Wait a few minutes, get in the car, strap that flashy mask on, then pick up some AMAZING Chinese food. Love their crab puffs. I really am not sure how I don't order 50 of them at a time. I would, I really would! They have a sesame chicken that is very, very different from anywhere else I have ever had it. I love it. I'm a bit addicted.
