I ordered take-out @ this restaurant today and was very impressed. Not only was the dining area nice and clean when I walked in, but The employees were VERY nice to me and the food was extraordinary! I absolutely will be visiting again and I do recommend this location.

The Navaratan Korma is HEAVEN. But the Chana Masala and Aloo Boghi is wayyyyyy too salty. Garlic Naan is reliable.

Nestled in a so-so neighborhood is a nice, inviting place called All the Way Live. Apparently,…read morethere is/was more than one of these locations, but when I look on their website, there is only this location currently. I was eating with mostly a vegan group of people and learned about how my interests differed greatly from theirs and learned to appreciate the different vegan spectrum levels more and to realize that there is more of a spectrum. Being a raw vegan is a whole nother level and while I am open to this kind of food, I wouldn't want to restrict myself to this lifestyle as it would be too stressful and unenjoyable for me. The group seemed to be a fan of this place, and I am no exception to that. Many didn't like Vedge at all whereas I did, one or two said Monster Vegan could consider charging more which i disagree with even though I haven't made it there yet, Su Xing seems to get respectable ratings by all, Charlie's is mixed but I am a fan personally. If vegan meat tastes too much like the real thing, this turns off a significant number of vegans. For a non-vegan foodie like myself, or possibly vegans strict to their diets that miss meat might appreciate this type of food accessibility. Even though the ingredients here are all raw vegan (to start), they are made flavorful for a more healthy experience. The apple cake I had here had a different texture than your typical American cake. I believe it was layers of fuji apple itself and it was made moderately sweet- not overly sweet like a typical American pastry. The candied squash I had here was fine with the unexpected salad to accompany it, but i didn't feel the candied part of it per se. The mushroom "cheesesteak" I didn't feel was really much of a vegan cheesesteak, but it was still flavorful enough with actual mushrooms and veggies within a roll. The prices are on the higher side but seemed appropriately priced too. The ginger lime drink I had tasted natural but flavorful. Pricy, but flavorful and refreshing. As to the reviewers who were frustrated by the place closing with no proper notification, that is very frustrating. I get it's a local place, but those kind of details are important to at least have on your website- something within the store's control. Somewhat ironically, my group was here because the Nile nearby was closed on this particular day only. This was on their Instagram. During my time here, my group asked me out of 10, how would I rate the cake. I said 9 or 10 at the time and don't regret that. They were surprised by such a high rating. I haven't had too many specific vegan cakes myself nor do I need to specifically try to overindulge myself in cakes. I was a bit overwhelmed to try to review on the spot but felt it was my duty to try to because I have been writing many reviews currently. Also, I see that it takes me time to think about all these things in my reviews like this one here. This review would have been too much to tell a person in-person. After further prior review investigation and more thought, 10% is high for credit card surcharge and there should be more transparency on that beforehand if not displayed well. 5% would probably still allow a slight profit but also be more appropriate and reasonably easy to calculate I think. Also, because of the area this is in, one could argue maybe the prices need to be tempered down. This is specialty too and it is all quite debatable.

Oh no. I gave this place 3 tries in recent weeks after I had a worse experience than in the past. I…read morethought my first bad experience could have been a fluke, so give it a couple more tries to be fair. And sadly experience has only got worse. And now I see they have changed their name slightly so I guess it's under new management. Before I knew it as "Jyoti Indian bistro" but they've replaced bistro with "kitchen" and added the "Nav". Unfortunately in these last three visits, the food hasn't been as good. This last time has been the worst so far. It looks about the same, but when I ordered saag paneer, I received maybe 30% of the amount of cheese cubes that I used to get (they used to have all of the cubes in a separate cup and would cook them per order and the dumped soooo many in.) this time however, I watched him fish out a few floating in the spinach sauce but then just went for spoonfuls of the sauce only. Upon tasting, most of that warm seasoned flavor with the tanginess is all but gone. It's like there are no Indian spices to make it hot anymore, it tastes like spoonfuls of black pepper only. Really disappointing! None of the drinks on display were cold. They used to have tons of drinks in the refrigerator with the closed door and the open refrigerator shelf on the customer side. Now there are hardly any drinks in either, and none of the refrigerators are running. They had several Plastic 20 ounce bottles of Pepsi. At the time of ordering I thought the refrigerator in the back was working, just without a light. So I ordered one of those Pepsi's. Apparently the man working there didn't hear because when he rang me up he did not include any drink. So I had to order a second time for just a drink, and he said they only have Coke that was cold in the back. Why don't they put the Coke out in the front to let people know they have it? Why do they have so many Pepsi's but none of them are being refrigerated in the same place the Coke was? And the 20 ounce bottle was $3.25... Outrageous. As I started to mention, the service has gone downhill just like the food. I don't want to say anything bad about the individuals as individual people. I have nothing bad to say about them personally, but their customer service is poor. The woman who used to work there was so friendly, remembered me, asked how things were. She was easy to understand and she clearly understood me. Now however, these guys didn't really say much, they were very hard to understand, and clearly couldn't understand or hear me since they totally ignored my order for the Pepsi. I ordered the Pepsi twice, to both men. But clearly neither heard the first time. The restaurant was completely empty, there was no music or televisions playing. No loud machinery, and I ordered at the same volume, speed and clarity as I did the food. So why didn't they pay attention to the drink? Expanding on the interior of the restaurant. As I said there was no music, no television on. There wasn't much lighting. Walking by from outside you would be forgiven for thinking they were closed. And it was really hot inside. I understand it's a buffet style Set up, with all the food being cooked in pans in front of you, but it was never this hot before. It's early March - it's not as cold anymore. Certainly not cold enough for the place to run that hot. I AM still happy to have a fairly decently priced quick Indian restaurant in the area. Chestnut Hill and Germantown Avenue have a debilitating lack of fast and easy food. I'm so sick of Wawa and their terrible parking and people asking for money and taking up parking by eating in their cars and the guy from Temple Hospital who comes in and walks around the place around 1pm blasting funk from a Bluetooth speaker. So I don't want people to NOT go to Jyoti. I hope this review helps swing things back to how they were and to offer customers updated expectations of the place. So long story short my negatives from my last 3 visits: - Food tastes worse (tastes like mostly if not all pepper rather than Indian spices) - Employees can't seem to understand English as well and they're also hard to understand - They have no cold drinks on display. And the drinks that are cold are hidden. - Place is too hot. Dark. No atmosphere

The ambiance of the place is that of a quaint local hole in the wall which is to say I loved it. I ordered the house speciality of Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan, and mango lassi. Confusion resulted from questioning how an Indian place could have avoided my radar for the 6 months it had been open. I took it upon myself to be the first soul in my program to try it. This place is literally a hole in the wall with a window from which you order food. The owner is an incredibly friendly man with a great beard who is happy to tell you all about his cooking and will probably give you a snack while your food is prepared. The regular weekday menu has 5 items on it, which are basically chicken, vegetable, chapati, and rice. These are served in various combinations such as chicken over rice, vegetable platter(which comes with 3 chapati, veggie mix, and rice), and chicken wrap. Now the price can't be beat. An entire chicken platter for $4.50 with rice and chapati is a steal...as long as it tastes good. Though it smelled delicious, the chicken was not good. The gravy was watered down and had no kick to it at all. I felt like a thirsty man in a desert who just watched a mirage fade before his eyes. Delicious Indian chicken in my area of convenience was not meant to be. No. I was not going to give up this easily. My one order had allowed me to try most of the menu save for his vegetables. I went back. I tried the vegetables. They were much, much, much better. Marinated celery, tomato, and peas graced my mouth and saved this establishment from an otherwise scathing review. It was spicy and tangy and pretty darn good. The owner is very nice and I want to see him succeed. Try it out if you are in the area. Get the veggies.

The website posted above lists all the options that potentially could be on the menu at any particular day. In reality, the daily menu usually looks like... Chicken Masala and Rice Vegetable and Rice Chapatee some dessert (I usually see Rasmalai) I have also seen Masala Dosa and Puree Bhajee. I personally have tried the Chicken Masala with rice, Vegetable with Rice, and Masala Dosa. All have been fantastic with my personal favorite being the Masala Dosa (served with a spicy coconut chutney). You can definitely taste the individual high quality spices used in each dish. If you like your food spicy, be sure to let them know, and they'll be sure to hook you up. People working there are great and make up for the lack of atmosphere.
