Safta 1964 By Alon Shaya is a Modern Middle Eastern Style Restaurant located in the Jardin in the Encore part of the Wynn Casino/Hotel. This restaurant is by James Beard Award Wining Chef Alon Shaya. His Denver location of Safta is Michelin Recognized. The Las Vegas Location has a stunning atmosphere. It's light, It's bright and airy. The furniture is beautiful. The floor is also beautiful with tiles that make a colorful floral design. They also have outdoor seating in a beautiful garden. By day this is a different restaurant called Jardin that is open for breakfast and lunch so Safta 1964 by Alon Shaya is only open for dinners. Safta translates to Grandmother in Hebrew. This restaurant is a tribute to the chef's Grandmother who influenced and contributed to what is served here. They started us off with a complimentary keepsake polaroid shot of us at a pretty wall of flowers in the restaurant. Then we walked by the interesting bar area and I noticed a book about food written by the chef. We were greeted by a number of different people during our visit. We started out by sharing a BUNCH of things. We shared the Salatim Platter (dips, spreads, vegetables, pita) hummus, and falafels. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY BY EVERYTHING! Everything was delicious. The hummus was among the very best I tasted anywhere. It had a creaminess like only the very best can have. Falafels were the herby type with a shattering crisp exterior. All of the Salatim platter was delicious. Our favorite was the eggplant/pepper/tomato spread (Lutenitsa) Sooooogood! (we packed up some pitas and a little dip so we could save a little room but would have been easy to just eat) We ordered a lot so we shared the Dover Sole Schnitzel. It was fried nice and the fish was sweet and seemed fresh. It came with tzatziki sauce and these very good and pretty onion petals. This was good but didn't pop as much as everything else. I was full by now but wanted to try dessert anyway. We tried the Safta's Delights. They were ALL VERY VERY GOOD but it also was an amazing adventure of not one, NOT two, not three, not for BUT FIVE KINDS of bite sized miniature desserts. FIFTEEN of them. Blueberry rugula, halvah, baklava, a fancy chocolate/coffee dessert, and our favorite a teeny tiny lemon tart. I would highly recommend getting this. Our servers were helpful, and kind. It was very thoughtful to give us reheat directions for our pita breads. The chef was there and thanked us for coming and asked for our feedback. Parking was easy and free. (First three hours are free and we don't have to drive on much strip to get here) If you love different flavors and also enjoy vegetables I would highly recommend dining at Safta 1964 by Alon Shaya.

Let me just start off by saying this is Jardin in the morning and transforms in Safata 1964 in the evening. Now that's out the way let's get into the nitty gritty. The food was just as amazing as the service. I don't know what more to say, but to come experience it for yourself. Check out my pic's forgot to take pic's everything else. Blame it on the great smell and flavor

This is a 1 month old concept restaurant with a popular chef. We got a chance to meet him and that was fun. The service and drinks were top notch and the setting was either great if you scored a good table or meh if you were in an active runway or near bathroom like we were. Don't leave this place without eating half to all of a pita. If you are a carb counter, plan ahead because it is worth it. The lamb Ragu hummus was great. The hummus was very creamy and I love crunchy chick peas on top of anything or nothing. I did find the Ragu to hummus ratio off a little and would have liked a little more hummus. The Ragu was also a little too greasy for my tastes. There were 3 of us so the 3 Wagyu dumplings worked but I could have eaten more! The sauces that came with the NY Strip made it a non standard steak offering and worth the try if you are in the mood.

You'll get a very pleasant experience at Safta. It's got a warm, bright atmosphere and all the staff were quite helpful. The sommelier recommended a nice bottle of Archery Summit Pinot noir to start with. It was a great recommendation that paired will with everything we had. Started off with some roasted mushroom hummus. The hummus is really tasty, but what really sold it was the hot, freshly baked pita that it comes with. After that, we ordered a bunch of the small plates so we could get a full taste of it all. The falafel was super crispy (maybe just a tad too crispy) but very flavorful. We also got the scallops which was a super interesting take as it was served over whipped potatoes and pistachios. Not something I would pair together if I was making it at home, but it really worked well and super glad we ordered it. We also had the lamb kebabs (my personal favorite of the night), and the shish natal dumplings. We finished the meal with the crispy eggplant dish. I had been to several of the other Alon Shaya restaurants before and this particular visit is one that I won't forget. This restaurant has it all!

Must do, but only till April, it's a residency so get in while you can. Ambiance and food is exceptional and based off the head chefs grandmas receipts and time passing through Vegas herself in the 60s.

We went here on Saturday night. It was half empty but still took time to get seated. The kabobs were good but a really small portion. The cucumber, onion, tomato salad was not good. It wasn't dressed, had mostly onions in it and some tomatoes were cut and some weren't. It seemed like subpar quality for $14. The service was good though and we had a nice view of the pool.

This place has a lot of potential. Sadly, as a vegetarian there didn't seem to be many options or if there was, they came in sides only. I wanted a big size of the baba ganoush and tabbouleh (which the server mentioned they don't have on the menu but could get me a side) but when it came, it came in a super small side which would have been amazing if it was a full size like the hummus for both because they were good. The hummus was good with the fresh pita! The drink was unique and different as well. Can't remember the exact name but it's the cucumber one on the menu. Ambiance is great! It overlooks the pool which is beautiful. The staff was friendly however I wish they were more helpful. Would have been nice to know majority of the things we ordered would come as sides. I was a little bothered so we ended up leaving and eating else where. For the vibes, it is a cute spot. Just not really vegetarian friendly in my opinion.

Don't walk, run! Pop-up location at the Wynn for 1 year and a few months have already passed. This place was fantastic. If you want excellent food that is packed with flavor and elegantly presented, this is the place for you. The colorful drinks set the tone for the meal. The hummus was velvet! The homemade pita chewy and light. The falafel was best I've had with a combination of sauces that left my palette dancing. The harissa chicken and crab tagine were decadent. King crab legs in a coconut curry broth. The jeweled rice is also not to be missed. I often don't duplicate where I go in Vegas, but this is now a must.

Welcome to 1964 #lasvegas. Ready for an adventure? Hop in the white Thunderbird. Chef Alon Shaya will take you on a desert trip to Safta 1964. First look into Safta and it is lined with beautiful flowers and you are greeted instantly by the elegantly dressed attentive Hostesses. The menu at @safta1964 in @wynnlasvegas is broadly Mediterranean and Middle Eastern (most dishes are vegetarian already) Celebrated chef Alon Shaya, a James Beard Award winner and Michelin-recognized Safta (no 1964) in Denver. Safta means "grandmother" in Hebrew, and Safta 1964 takes its name from a real safta: Matilda Gerassi, Shaya's maternal grandmother. Her fictional midcentury heyday inspired the restaurant. We starred our journey with Salatim seven dips all WHOLE-PLANT-BASED (vegan) spreads and veggies for two served with warm pita. It was so delicious especially the creamy hummus. Then I ordered Falafel it was so light and fluffy with side of delicious tabouli and creamy tahini sauce. As my main dish I want with Whole Roasted Cauliflower but instead of feta cheese I want with tahini sauce. And side of Heirloom Tomato And Cucumber Salad. We finished our experience with assortment of Safta's Sweets and fresh fruit offer a memorable ending to delicious PLANT * BASED meal. Don't forget also huge selection of delicious drinks like Gazoz, that could be made without alcohol if you prefer it. What exactly is Gazoz, you ask? A refreshing and fizzy cocktail served in 3 or 6 formations. Pomegranate Blossom, Cucumber and Blueberry Sage varieties Cocktails garnished with colorful and aromatic ingredients make them perfect for a hot summer day.

Enjoyed this top rated Mediterranean spot in Las Vegas! The service was hard to beat, our waiter brought use shawls when it got cold, keeping us warm when it got chilly on the patio. The Warm Buttered Black Summer Truffles were delicious! Beautiful location in the courtyard of the Wynn.

Delicious! The atmosphere was great, and the service was excellent! Our server DJ did a great job and was very knowledgeable about the menu and alternatives to different food allergies. From the moment you walk up to Safta's, you notice the theme. The details from the entrance, the floor tiles, to the servers uniforms, were all very charming.

Date night brings us to celebrity chef Alon Shaya's new pop-up spot at the Wynn - Safta 1964. A dedication to Mr Shaya's grandmother is an incredibly unique Mediterranean and Israeli dining experience. If all you care about is the rating and the pics it was a clear 10 and must try place. Here is the details. We started with the French Butterly cocktail which my wife said was outstanding. The waitress (Ana -amazing) recommended we start with the Salatim Platter a combination of Dips for the incredibly flavorful Pita. It was exquisite with the smoked trout roe tasting like a lox bagel to the baba ganoush that just explodes with every bite. Clearly this is a unique item that anyone who comes here should experience. It was a meal in itself. For small plates we tried the mango falafel and the scallops. Both we're very good but not the star of the show. For main course we had the crispy eggplant w goat cheese which tasted like eggplant parm and was wonderful. Lastly we had the fall-off-the-bone pomegranate lamb shank which was everything we could have asked for. For dessert we had Safta delights, a light dessert and bite side assortment of tasty treats. A perfect way to enjoy an absolutely spectacular meal. We went overboard and still didn't spend $300 for all this food and it was worth every cent. Come check this place out.

Great food and great vibe. Loved the deserts server was very polite. I would have given 5 stars if they would have not brought someone else food to us and then snatched right away. Drinks were not very good either. Overall food was great

The six-course meal was absolutely phenomenal. Every dish was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and delicious. I especially loved that parts of the dining experience were interactive, it made the evening feel even more special and immersive. The ambiance was perfection. The warm red glow, gorgeous decor, and thoughtfully dim lighting created an elegant, intimate atmosphere without making it difficult to see. Every detail made it feel like I had been transported somewhere truly special. The live entertainment was the perfect finishing touch. The belly dancers were incredibly talented and added so much energy and authenticity to the evening. Combined with the music, it created an experience that was about so much more than just dinner. One of my favorite moments happened as soon as I was seated, when my hands were ceremonially washed. It was such a unique and welcoming touch that set the tone for the rest of the night. Our server was outstanding. Once he learned it was my first time visiting, he made sure I felt welcomed and took great care of us throughout the entire evening. The service was attentive without ever feeling intrusive. From the moment I arrived until the moment I left, everything was flawless. Marrakech isn't just a restaurant, it's an experience. If I could give it more than five stars, I absolutely would. I can't wait to return!

I've had Greek food that was more flavorful. Greek food tends to be a bit pricier than others so I have a higher standard. I can brag on a few things. The restaurant was very clean and cute. I loved that they had TVs and we could watch the World Cup game that was on. You order your food up front, pay, grab your drink, and then sit down with your number. They bring the food out to your table. I love the CocaCola freestyle machines. Unfortunately this one didn't have any diet or zero options other than Aha sparkling water. That was a bit disappointing. They do have canned Diet Coke along with some interesting Greek drinks in a refrigerator. I ordered the gyro plate and my son got the falafel gyro. We both got the feta fries. These are really delicious. There was so much feta and herbs on the crispy, coated fries. My portion was great on my gyro plate. The salad was pretty but the Greek dressing was very mild and lacking in flavor for me. The same with my gyro meat. It was just okay. When you mix beef and lamb, it creates this delicious flavor and I just didn't get that here. The tzatziki was very bland to me. It was almost just straight yogurt. My son's falafel pita was very good. It was soft in the inside with the slight crisp on the outside. It was a large size pita and filled up my teenage boy. The desserts sounded delicious and the baklava in the case next to the registers were phenomenal looking. We didn't make it that far to get to have dessert. Since my son loved it so much, we will be back. I will try a different plate next time and hopefully be able to get dessert also.

This review is for Las Vegas Restaurant Week…read more This restaurant week set meal was truly amazing. It's been a long time since I've been wowed by a restaurant. I highly recommend everyone try their lunch. The price is incredibly reasonable, and the food quality is top-notch! For an appetizer, a whole fish entree, and a dessert, the Restaurant Week special is only 40 bucks! Even if you can't make it out to taste the food during Restaurant Week, their usual lunch prix fixe (with the same dishes) is only 45 bucks. Compared to the Mayfair Supper Club I just went to, this place handles their fish remarkably well. It perfectly retained the tenderness and juiciness of the fish, and the skin and edges had a bit of charred, fire-roasted aroma. It left me thinking with great satisfaction: this is exactly how fish should be prepared--simple! The octopus appetizer was also incredibly tender with absolutely no fishy taste. The kitchen's grilling technique and heat control are just exceptionally well-handled. I also quite liked their dessert, Greek yogurt and candied orange peel. I think using orange peel has an advantage: even though it's been candied, it still retains the natural bitterness of the peel, so it's not overly sweet. Speaking of olive oil, the olive oil at this place deserves a shout-out too. It has a very strong grassy aroma and a distinct, pleasant bitterness with a sweet aftertaste. We also added an order of their signature appetizer, which is thinly sliced zucchini and eggplant fried and stacked into a tower. It was seriously so crispy and delicious!!! And very eye-catching! This dish is great for sharing, though it did get a little greasy toward the end, since it is fried after all. This single appetizer costs a whopping 41 bucks! It's even more expensive than the Restaurant Week set menu! But it's super eye-catching and tastes great! Oh well, let them have my money.
