I had my wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Francesca Verrati in 2022, and I'm still living with the consequences. Shortly after surgery, I developed numbness in my chin and a persistent sensation like there's something stuck in the lower left extraction area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I brought this up, and during the follow-up, Dr. Verrati told me not to worry -- that I should be fine -- and asked me to come back in April for a recheck. But when I returned, I was told she was on maternity leave and unavailable. That moment felt devastating. It seemed like she had no real plan to help me, and I was left feeling completely dismissed and ignored.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] To make matters worse, she was late to the initial appointment, which made me feel as though maybe she wasn't fully prepared for it. This lack of punctuality and attention to detail set a concerning tone for the rest of my experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Although I reached out to her office multiple times, I was hoping she would try to reach out to me due to the damage caused, but she did not. I'm very disappointed. Her lack of follow-up and concern for my well-being has been disheartening.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Now, over two years later, the numbness hasn't gone away. After seeing other professionals, I've been told this could be permanent nerve damage -- something that should have been clearly discussed before surgery. I understand that I signed a consent form, but I don't feel like I was fully informed about the specific risks in my case, especially regarding nerve proximity. [[HIGHLIGHT]]What hurts the most is not just the possible permanent damage, but the feeling that my concerns weren't taken seriously from the beginning. I trusted Dr. Verrati with my care and left feeling abandoned.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Please be cautious. Ask about imaging, nerve risks, and make sure you're being heard. I have been coming to this dental facility since around 1997. At the time and until a couple years ago, it was under different ownership. I was always happy with the dentists in the past. Now, it is owned by Sage Dental. I am still happy here. My hygientist, Maria, is super nice and very thorough with her cleaning. She offers great advice and is pleasant to chat with. I feel very comfortable because she wears three masks and a face shield. I really salute her. I cannot imagine wearing all that gear everyday for work. It is great to see this facility takes the necessary precautions to keep staff and patients safe. Dr. Hueller is a very knowledgeable and funny dentist. I appreciate his honesty. I recently saw him for my yearly exam by him. He noticed I had one of those old fillings, the metal kind, way back in my mouth. He advised me never to let anybody take that out because it was so well done. He told me only to have it changed if it cracked or something actually happened to it. I thought that was awesome because I have never heard a dentist be so honest and frank like that. The only negative thing I have to say is that since Sage Dental has taken over, they seem to push these little extra treatments. I already go for cleanings 4 times per year because I have a tendency to build up plaque. These extra treatments are around $38 a pop. And all the years I went to this facility before, previous staff never pushed anything like that on me. I have gotten this extra treatment one time in the past year. I'm not sure I will in the future because as I said, I go four times a year for cleanings. Overall, I really do like this dentist and staff. The reception staff is great too. This office pays especially close attention to maintaining a clean office even before the pandemic. Maria cleans my teeth and she does an excellent job. She focuses well on cleaning my teeth and gives me advice on better brushing and flossing. The dentist is very friendly and warm. He has also given me some good advice about my teeth. I feel really comfortable coming to this office. They are always on time with my appointment. I guarantee that they will make up erroneous charges to max out the billing to achieve the maximum pain for the most dollars. Upcharging can be expected by any dentist you go to these days, at least the last six dentists that I have seen are addicted to them. My last dentist tried to crown four perfectly normal teeth. My prior visit to them, they pulled the deep cleaning scam. I am 70 years old and most likely have only a few years to go. Having shiny teeth is not a requirement of cremation. I went to them based on BS reviews on google. Aspen dental and Sage Dental, or any other chain store love these charges, but it's not just them as I went to a guy, operating out of his house, and bada boom, bada bing out of nowhere all my teeth were defective. I've been going to Sage Davie for a year and I've really had a turn around and learned much more than I have at other offices. They team there is very accommodating and always remind you of upcoming visits. My favorite thing they do is try to get you in sooner if possible. My hygienist is amazing and always tells me what to do and buy in order to help make life better and more efficient. The most important thing that I've been taught is FBI! Floss, brush, and irrigate. Terrible customer service. Aside from being rude they offered a promo for an exam and a cleaning and wouldn't honor my cleaning. After the exam they said I need a 'deep cleaning' that costs thousands of dollars, and won't perform a regular one even though it was included. After I protested they said I misunderstood the offer and a basic cleaning wouldn't do me any good. A couple of months later I went to Regency Square Dental and they said I didn't need a deep cleaning at all and that the other office must have been a scam (even though I didn't mention it was Sage. I recommend Regency Square Dental. They are high tech, beyond polite and competent. read more

I had an appointment for a cleaning which they tried to reschedule on the morning of the appointment. I was insistent that they keep it as I had made it 6 months before. They were able to keep it but when I went in, there was a hard sell for additional non-covered treatment. Then the hygienist started taking measurements and said she could not do the cleaning because a doctor had to see me and there wasn't one there. At that point I walked out never to return. Had another great visit to this office, teeth cleaning was just as great as my first and I love that they are very attentive and care for patient's comfort. I also had a crown and very happy with it. Wait was less than 5 minutes and it was done fairly quickly. They had a promotion in which I received a teeth whitening kit for home use. Don't come here, This place is super unprofessional, They want you to do all there work for them. First they did not verify my information or my insurance before my appointment. They made me wait in the waiting room for 40 mins, when my appointment was at 3:00pm- Which I was there at 3:00pm and I was in the waiting room till 3:40pm dealing with all of this with other people around while they were checking my insurance, Yes nobody was close to me. Why couldn't this be done before my appointment to make things easier and smoother???... But I am still exposing myself to the other's around me that didn't make me feel like they were taking things serious there. The Dental Hygienist, they have working there don't even take caution by the way they look, they had there hair sticking out everywhere which did not look clean nor safe especially now during this time when being Sanitary is crucial to preventing the illness and spread of COVD-19- Like if there is no virus going on at all. They looked really dirty and sloppy looking not clean look. The place was super dirty, they had piles of trash stacking up to the top, it was disgusting looking and nasty. They need to clean this place better and take out the trash! I just didn't feel safe or comfortable and I left, I will never come back here again. I really hope they start doing there jobs correctly and cleaning the place. Especially it being a Dental Office. The worse office ever! The staff are extremely rude and uncompassionate. The office staff are unhelpful and divert calls, avoiding complaints. Numerous messages left for the office manager over several months and to this date no response. I had an initial check-up which was a nightmare, the dental nurse was extremely unpleasant. The second visit was for deep cleaning, that I paid for in full according to the office staff. However, was sent a bill for additional payment. Was mis-informed twice about monies owed. If you decide to visit this office, make sure your treatment payments are made clear. Otherwise you will have collections on your back! I was a patient of this practice for nearly 15 years before it was taken over by Sage. I continued to go after the transition - boy what a mistake that was! Dr. Jason Hersh botched my nitrous oxide administration and caused me to have a truly horrific and life threatening reaction in the office. I should have taken action against them, but I didn't. I haven't been back in a long time, but I keep getting a stupid $20 bill in the mail. It comes every month from their completely inept billing department in Boca. I call, write, email...but nothing changes - the bill comes every month. I do not owe $20! In fact I wish I could get back the thousands upon thousands of dollars I gave them over the years. Guys, seriously. Stay away from these guys. They have a rotating cast of hygienists and dentists- none of which are the same visit to visit (so good luck establishing rapport with one you trust). They'll quote you one price, jack it up another $50, and then send you a bill in the mail for a further $50 claiming your insurance didn't cover it. I contacted them about one of these bills and was told three different things on three different occasions: an insurance error, an error with the billing system, and the latest is that no, I really do owe them the cash from one that was supposedly not covered by my insurance. I have had trouble trusting dentists since I was a kid, and these people have now made it even harder for me to bring myself to go to a dentist. I entered Sage dental for my annual visit with Dr. Israel. Upon entering, I am told that he is no longer at that practice. It is upsetting that no notification was given that my primary dentist no longer works there. I brought it up to the office manager who literally shrugged her shoulders. This is a big deal. I first came to sage davie as a new patient and i was greeted with a warm welcoming hello from the curly haired receptionist. From there i was brought to back within 10 mins the assistant took my X-rays and then i met Dr Hart. Very nice and listened to my concerns. I was scheduled for a consultation for dental work. They were so accommodating that they had a cancellation last minute they were able to fit me in for a filling even though i wasn't scheduled for one. An older Hispanic lady came in the room saying they had a cancellation and i got my cleaning by Wilber who was very knowledgeable. Once i was done i was brought to the the front where i was checked out by Aleks who was super sweet and recommend a yoga studio which i was not expecting. In 2016 I went to this dentist for a basic cleaning. a basic cleaning is covered under my insurance. yet I paid $130 that initial day. fast forward a few months, and I get billed for that same amount. the bills don't stop coming. I've called, I've hand written letters, left voice mails, emailed...no response. I have since moved across the country to Washington state and IM STILL GETTING BILLED. But wait--thats not all. I started getting noticed from a DEBT COLLECTOR for $150 Fed up with dealing with this dental company for 3 years...I paid it. and guess what showed up in the mail today. I am a new patient and have to tell you how efficient the process of the initial appointment is! I received a link and was able to complete all of my paperwork before arriving to the facility. On the day of my appointment I received a text asking me to check in when I arrived. I waited in my car until they were ready for me. The office was very clean and the assistant continually sanitized the area and tools. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Dr. Haller is WONDERFUL!! Very personable and knowledgeable. I feel so comfortable with him and know that my teeth will be cared for with the highest standards. Davie location set an appointment today at 3 pm and now I am calling to find out if I need to bring my son in since no one ever called me back and you put me on hold for over 10 min. You come back on the line and ask me to hold even longer because you have patients in front of you that are more important. You will not answer a simple question about my sons spacer that fell out last week and now you say that I have no appointment scheduled today. Since my appointment is at 3 and you say I have none and you refuse to speak to me on the phone I hope that when you finally get around to calling me you can answer the question about my son. The ONLY place I'll go to. They even took away my phobia of going to the dentist. I don't even know why they have a waiting room because I barely take a seat before my name is called. The front desk staff is also wonderful. The office is very clean and they take 100% precautions when it comes to their patient's health. I'm there like every month getting work done and they are truly amazing. Dr. Haller is the best and really cares for his patients. He is willing to answer any questions you have about your oral health and explain everything to you. Him and his assistants are very personable and have great humor. This past year I went to Sage Dental of Davie (actually in Cooper City) and was prescribed a "dental plan" which involved deep cleaning, and also had to get a tooth capped. The first person that came in to speak with me had a plan that wasn't covered by my insurance. Additionally, they suggested an unnecessary root canal. I got a second opinion from another specialist who told me I didn't need one. Once I questioned it, they backed off and said it wasn't all "necessary but rather, suggested." I went ahead with the deep cleaning and cap. I was then told I had a cavity. They came in again to give me the cost of the procedure. This wasn't covered by insurance AT ALL. When I questioned it the response was, "The Doctor doesn't use the fillings that are covered by your insurance." I declined. I then scheduled a follow-up 6-month cleaning which was to be done today. When I called to confirm I said, "This cleaning is covered by my insurance, correct?" There was a pause and she came back on and said, "Only 80%." I responded, "That's interesting, I get two cleanings a year." She said, "Yes, you do, but that's not what the Doctor prescribed. This is a follow-up to your deep cleaning." They try to up-sell at every turn. Stay as far away as you can. If you go there, question everything. For me? I'm done with them and sorry I ever went there in the first place. read more
