The waitress was very friendly and helped us make our choices. Portion sizes were small as typical of such a restaurant, but everything tasted great. I specially recommend the wife's favorite. Their complimentary crusty ciabatta bread was delicious too. We reached the restaurant at 7.45 pm and the restaurant closes at 9 pm. Though there was well over an hour for us to dine in peace, I felt that the waitress rushed us a little bit. No complaints about their service other than this though! We brought our in-laws here for dinner after seeing Cirque du Soleil, which was also awesome by the way. Even though it was late in the evening we were warmly greeted and seated. This is a really nice and cute restaurant! We ordered soups and salads first, which were tasty. Then I had the lemon herbed chicken and it was awesome! My hubby had salmon which was yummy. My in laws had pastas and loved them. Place is clean and comfortable. Service was impeccable. The four of us are all very different people, but our server took excellent care of all of us. I didn't have much room for dessert afterwards so I had a bite of my hubby's creme bulee and a sip of aged tawny port. It was a really sweet experience to eat the restaurant. It came highly recommended from people who live on the Eastside and especially in the Redmond area. Before my visit, I had tried to eaten there. However, on the door was a sign that said "reservations only." So I would recommend if you are planning a romantic dinner for two or a get together for a group of people 5 or less, you should definitely call in advance. I was doing solo during a not so busy time so I still called and got in 10 minutes later. The people working there were so sweet as I decided what I wanted. Indoors, I was the only person for a bit and the tables were spaced apart and hand sanitizer was available. Looking back, I think they also made sure to change how their bathrooms worked so only one person goes at a time in the space. They were also wearing masks. When I went, they did have specials and they often post specials in advance on Facebook (they are not on Instagram). But for my time, I stuck with the regulars on the menu. I have to mention that the person took my orders was very amenable and could give me Recs so I could decide what to choose. Overall, I had a great experience and would definitely recommend. Food is delicious and bit on the pricy side, have a great wine list and good service. We had bruschetta and caprese for appetizer. Lobster ravioli, linguine, gnochi, and copper river salmon. The food was all great, including the bread they serve. As I had not tried copper river salmon before, I was expecting something exceptional, based on all the hype (and higher prices!!), but it tasted like a regular high quality salmon to me. The ambience is nice, minimally appointed in one medium size seating area. While it does not offer a cozy, private dining experience, the food made up for it. My sister chose this place based on a recommendation she got from a friend. We celebrated a family dinner here; it being all of our first times trying this place out. This is a small corner Italian place in Redmond. I am not sure the history but it looked traditional and family owned from the decor to the service. I probably should not make assumptions but that is the vibe you get. Classic table settings with a dimmer lighting, dark rich colors, old fashioned wooden door to the restrooms etc. Most dishes we chose were very rich and heavy. No surprise here though because it is an Italian restaurant. I had the Lobster Ravioli which tasted just like expected. Creamy, rich, lobster was fresh, the ravioli was cooked perfectly etc. My mom had the Mediterranean Spaghetti which was better than the ravioli in my opinion. It was light, fresh, you could eat tons of this without feeling like it was too heavy and rich. Was it amazing? No, you could probably make this at home if you cook. Honestly, both dishes were good, they definitely were not bad and it really just depends on your own preferences. If you like, love, and can handle lots of really rich and creamy sauce, order the ravioli. I would say this is definitely a step up from Olive Garden if you are looking for comparisons on quality. There is lots on the menu to choose from but at the same time you may feel it is a little limited depending on what you like to eat. The restaurant can easily fit multiple families or people if you were looking to celebrate or have a family dinner here. The parking is easy too. There is street parking around the block and there is a parking lot a across the street. Food was good but 2 out four were overdone but still tasty. The shrimp tower appetizer and bread fell short of other reviews in our experience. Service was fast, too fast for a leisurely dinner, felt pushed so they could turn the table, the entrees showed up before the appetizer was finished and dishes were cleared before food was gone. Ambiance, hard to fault since this restaurant has been a success for many years although quite sparse. Wine list adequate by the bottle but lacking by the glass, on the plus side pricing is reasonable for Redmond. Overall nice neighborhood restaurant but I wouldn't make a special trip. read more

Mmm. Not much to say other than this place was awesome (though I wish I could give a 4.5 because I like reserving 5 stars for truly outstanding places). I got a cesar salad and their wild salmon. The salad looks like any other cesar, but the flavors were great. The salmon with the sauce and veggie were also delicious. They also served free bread and butter. The bread was nice and soft (so I'm guessing it's pretty fresh) but the butter didn't have much flavor. It did feel like some of the staff (at least the guy at the door) was stand-off-ish and made me not feel very welcomed (like a "why are you looking at me vibe?") but I could have read it wrong. When we first entered, the wait staff seemed to be in a hurry and also seemed to prioritize older customers while not reacting to us as much. We found this place in downtown Redmond, without reaching Redmond Town Center. It was on a corner in a demure sort of way. Street parking was available, but the restaurant itself did not have dedicated parking. However, we were able to park for free. The interior was pretty average, but was clean and quiet and the lights were dimmed. We were greeted right away on a Saturday night and seated right away. They brought out our waters quickly after. The waiter was very friendly with us even though we were a pretty boisterous group and his friendly and attentive behavior continued throughout. He came to check on us fairly frequently and our waters stayed full. The food came out together which I like and it was plated well. We received complimentary bread which was good. I've had better bread though so to me I wished it was better. But the rest of the food was flavorful and delicious. read more

I can't believe I waited so long to try Sages. It's such a hidden gem if you're ever in downtown Redmond, highly recommend. It's perfect for a date night, family dinner, and everything in between. I got the Mediterranean pasta, a light penne dish with artichokes, capers, tomato sauce, etc. I loved it because I didn't feel super heavy even though I finished the entire thing. The service, the cozy atmosphere. It's a nice place, but not fancy. You would feel comfortable going on an evening after work or for a special occasion. My favorite meal there would be The Sages salad, Any entrée, the spicy shrimp tower for an appetizer and any dessert. I prefer the dessert sampler so I can have the Bailey's walnut cake, the chocolate decadence, and the tiramisu all at once. I really enjoyed my experience at Sages. I will say the Yelp title is a little misleading (Italian, Gluten Free) as I made the assumption the entire restaurant was gf vs a completely separate menu. No worries, I still came with my appetite! I ordered the clam chowder to start and it was creamy, well seasoned and fresh. Loved it alongside the ciabatta bread. For my entree, I ordered the lobster ravioli, which also did not disappoint! Loved the white wine/dill and cream sauce it sat in. For dessert, I ordered a slice of tiramisu to go, 5/5. Fluffy whip, air soft layers, everything you can expect from a great tiramisu. The ambiance was nice: dimly lit, quiet, intimate and a great spot for date night, even if you go solo like I did. My server was great and attentive. Sages is surrounded by many shops/restaurants in the area and there's plenty of street parking surrounding the restaurant. There's both indoor and outdoor seating; next time I come, would love to experience the outdoor patio as inside can get a little stuffy! read more

We had a really nice dinner here the other night. We called ahead on a Sunday to see if there was a wait and were lucky enough to be able to just walk in. The restaurant has a small and cozy dining area with tables spaced apart to facilitate privacy. The lighting is low and the decorations are minimalistic but classy. We were seated right away and had a great server who came over and took our wine order. I was already smitten when I saw their wine so reasonably priced at 8.00 a glass and I fell further when I turned over the menu to find a whole side dedicated to gluten free. They don't have any gf pasta options which was too bad because they smelled amazing; however, I certainly did not go hungry. They had several great options including a gf clam chowder. Clam chowder is one of my many weaknesses so obvi I had to get a cup of that. Then I love gorgonzola so I had to get the chicken gorgonzola. Then of course the husband said it was date night so we really should share a gf dessert.. you can see how this can get carried away. My gf chowder was awesome, flavorful and delicious. The husband enjoyed his caesar -salad and before we knew it our entrees were before us. The chicken was beautifully plated with a delicious mound of mashed potatoes and fresh asparagus and carrots. I thoroughly enjoyed every savory bite. The husband cleaned the gnocchi from his plate and we had barely a moment before the decadent silky chocolate torte with raspberry sauce came out. We were really impressed with the service all night. Our food came out quickly, our server was very attentive, and they ninja filled our water glasses after every sip. Quantity and price were great as well. We'll definitely be back for more noms. read more
