    #R6 Sausage Fried Rice
    Alex V.

This Vietnamese restaurant excels in every aspect-from playing and flavor of texture. The balance of each dish is absolutely remarkably well executed. The service is always attentive throughout, and the dining environment feels very comfortable. I've been coming here for years. I ordered the R6 Sausage Fried Rice (don't be afraid of carbs) it was very delicious, filling, perfectly seasoned, never became soggy and the portion was generous. If you find yourself in Gilroy, I definitely recommend this place. Thank you for the hospitality and I look forward to my next visit - thank you very much!

Huge portions for a fair price! The tofu and cashews were cooked very nicely, while the sauce was delicious (even without the fish sauce). Important note for vegetarians: let the staff know you're vegetarian and that you don't want any seafood/fish sauce!

What a nice find in gilroy. I wasn't expecting to have Thai food of this quality but it was very good. Service was fast at this restaurant. Everything I tried had very good flavor and worthy of a second visit

After spending time in Gilroy with some friends. We decided to stop into Saigon 2 for dinner. They are located in a fairly busy and crowded strip mall. Though, parking was not too bad. Cozy, intimate setting with nice decor. The restaurant is and could only accommodate a couple of large groups (6+ people). The service was very good (5/5). Polite, friendly, helpful, and very attentive. I forgot to catch his name. He worked Sunday night, Dec 7th. The menu was fairly extensive highlighting Thai and Vietnamese cuisine. Mixed Jae: stir-fried seasonal veggies sauteed in garlic, soy sauce, and oyster-based sauce (4/5). Yellow Curry: Thai infused yellow curry made with yellow curry paste, coconut milk, carrots, and potatoes. Served with your choice of protein (chicken) and spice level (mild). The curry seemed a bit too watery. Maybe, the mild spice level is still too spicy for some. Otherwise, the flavor was ok (3/5). Massaman Curry: Thai infused thick and rich peanut sauce with a coconut red curry base, seasoned with sweet spices of cinnamon, cardamom, and cloves. Served with carrots, potatoes, and your choice of protein (tofu) and spice level (mild). Again, this was very watery. we are used to a richer, thicker Massaman (2.5/5). Pad Thai: Pan-fried thin rice noodles in house made tamarind sweet and sour sauce. Stir-fried with eggs, scallions, and beansprouts. Topped off with beansprouts, lime wedges, and ground peanuts. Served with your choice of protein (chicken). This was decent but still lacked the depth of flavor (3/5). Steamed rice (3.5/5). Piping hot and it stayed warm in the bowls they came in. I'd come back to try some of their other dishes the next time I am in the area.

Came in on a weekday right at 5 and wasn't too busy! There's a big parking lot that's kind of packed but easy to find parking. Came with a party of 6, seated quickly and were given our water and menus. Inside is a little humid but lots of fans blowing to keep you cool. Interior is nice and gives off a cozy vibe. Service could be better. The lady worker seemed a bit annoyed but the guy worker was kind. Food was served fairly quick. For food, we got a few dishes... Yum Woon Sen (Thai noodle salad): 9.5/10 - this was super yummy! Had a nice tang to it and was seasoned well. Noodles were cooked just right Pad Thai: 7/10 - lacking the tanginess I enjoy from a good pad thai. This was still good but I've had better! Solid dish Pineapple Fried Rice: 10/10 - this was my favorite! Had a nice sweetness to it, rice was cooked well, seasoning was great. Everything in it was perfect. Super tasty and hit the spot :) Yellow Curry: 8.5/10 - this was good! Although light in color, it was flavorful. The curry was creamy, chicken was a bit tough but still good, potatoes cooked well Pad See Ew: 6/10 - this was not bad, but the noodles were overcooked (really soft and kind of breaking easily). The flavor was lacking, this not being as flavorful as the other dishes. Veggies were cooked well and the beef too! Seafood Thai Basil: 8/10 - very flavorful dish with a variety of seafood! Good stuff Prices were reasonably priced for the portion sizes given. Overall, this is a solid place for Thai food and I'd come back again!

Came to Saigon today and had a great experience. The staff was incredibly patient while I looked through the menu because everything sounded so good. We ended up getting the stir-fried chicken and some vegetable egg rolls, and both were delicious. The food was packed with flavor, the service was friendly, and it's always nice supporting a local spot. Definitely recommend checking this place out. I'm already looking forward to coming back and trying the pho next time!

Saw positive feedback to go here during a trip to Gilroy, and we were incredibly impressed by everything. The menu had a VERY wide diverse menu that made me nervous, but we stuck to the Thai options - Pad Thai, Crying Tiger, and the yellow curry. The flavors were absolutely spot on - the pad Thai had the right flavor and texture (along with tons of protein), and the marinade on the crying tiger was top notch and barely needed the side sauce. We also loved the inclusivity to kids, between the cute bowls and the great options on a colorful kids menu. Easy parking, clean interior, friendly service throughout...we are 100% coming back.

    Bahn Mi with Spicy Chicken

We came here on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. There was a slight wait as we were a slightly bigger group, but we were able to get a table relatively quickly. The ambiance was lively. I ordered the Bahn Mi with Spicy Chicken. I wasn't a fan of the bread, as it wasn't the crunchy baguette that is usually used; it was instead soft and more like a bun. The inside/fillings were pretty good - I liked the spicy chicken a lot and it was savory and spicy. The pickled veggies and mayo were good and it was a good combination with the chicken. Our server was super friendly and enthusiastic. Overall, I would still like to come back and try something else on the menu as I really liked the restaurant, but wasn't a fan of the bread.

First time in and ordered Pad Thai shrimp for take out. It was still hot by the time I drove home over the hill. Great flavor although I was missing mint and cilantro from a different spot I go to. None the less I'd buy this again and would add veggies as well. Definitely look forward to going back to try something else from their full menu. Cute little spot and friendly staff.

I should not trust a person who doesn't like seafood. How am I going to share a meal with someone that doesn't eat fish? My whole protein diet is based on fish and red meat. You come here to drink Thai Tea with extra cream not a shot of whiskey for $6.00. It was a good business meeting but I am going to have to come back here with someone who really enjoys food. This is the second time I have gone to eat with someone who kind of ruined the experience of a new restaurant for me. It is not their fault. I had a headache and now I have a low tolerance for people who are not on the same vibe as me.

Located in a bit of a run down plaza off Homestead in Cupertino, there is ample parking but I was a bit skeptical pulling in. There is a kiosk in front and you can add your name to the waitlist. We were seated after a short 10 min wait. It was busy (on a Friday night) and the staff was moving efficiently to take all the waiting orders. We ordered the Fried Tofu to start. Wife got the Green Curry (mild) with chicken, mother-in-law ordered the Pad See Ew with chicken and I tried something new with the Kua Kai with Crispy Pork. Also added in a Singha which came with an ice cold glass. Food came out quickly and the tofu was crispy and the sauce was enjoyed by all. My dish was the star and we all loved the stir fried flat rice noodle and the crispy pork! The green curry spice level was good for us but kids passed. The Pad See Ew was pretty solid but similar at most places. Really enjoyed the Thai chilis in garlic and vinegar. Enjoyed this place so much, I came back a few days later for lunch with my colleague. This time got the Pad Woon Sen and he got the Pad Kee Mow both with Crispy Pork. Would say it wasn't as good at lunch since the Crispy Pork was a bit over and chewy. Still was enjoyable and has me wanting to come back. Spice levels seem pretty fair, I don't handle spicy much but enjoy a bit. Looks like you can go much much hotter and I think spice lovers would enjoy! Happy eating, until next time!

Owned by a winner of a reality cooking competition, it makes sense why it is priced at a premium, and with that follows pleasantly attentive service, innovative dishes, and comfy seating. I found the food to be generally pleasant, and the only thing that is unpleasant is their proximity to the train station that interrupts conversation on an intervalized basis. Old Siam - I see the vision of this luxury take on an old fashioned, which is flavorally accurate. I think the garnish is a bit too simple beyond the block ice to properly convey that look. Roti Mataba - Intriguing dish as I've never seen roti used to encapsulate before, but its smart as it creates a flaky exterior that pairs incredibly well with the curry sauce. Pad See Ew - Large portion of a classic dish that is served on the lighter side but still tasty. I would clean up on the presentation though. Mango Sticky Rice - Beautiful arrangement of mango sticky rice that shows great knife skills of the mango. You can see the heart shape starting to form of the sticky rice as well, which is beautiful. Starting with the Pad Thai, we ordered it with beef and it was easily the star of the meal. Perfectly cooked soft noodles with a savory, slightly sweet sauce that was incredibly well balanced.
