Due to Covid-19, this restaurant is only offering takeout. This restaurant served the worst Thai food I ever had. Firstly, the BBQ pork strips were pieces of boiled non-marinated pork with fluorescent red food coloring. It was NOTHING like the photo of it on the menu. This failed dish didn't even have any grill marks. The items that had a lot of sauce were not packaged properly in my togo bag. The lids busted open and made a big mess. The Pad Thai was average, and it was a good value because they filled up the box pretty good. Anyways, don't expect real Thai food from a Vietnamese / Thai restaurant. I have always been a fan of Saigon2 and have been a regular customer. The food is good and I always thought prices were reasonable -- till today!! I was surprised to see how much the prices have gone up of every item in the menu. I understand inflation is real and everything is going up in cost, but I feel the increases here are a bit unreasonable. I met my friend here today for an early dinner. There was no wait and I was promptly greeted, seated, and given menus. The place is quite small and probably cannot acomódate too large of a party, but the food was pretty tasty. I got the vermicelli bowl with grilled chicken and they definitely give you your money's worth and then some! We shared the lumpia Shanghai and those were delicious. My Thai ice coffee was on the sweeter side, but drinkable. They also easily accommodated my friend and her various requests to her order and were nice about it. This is the best Thai food in Gilroy. Their prices are fair and the staff is always friendly. The seating inside is small but efficient. We typically order to go. Our go to order is always the crying tiger, drunken noodles, and yellow curry. Haven't had any of the Vietnamese food but all the Thai food we've had here has always been good. I think this sampler is worth it, we liked everything on it. I think the fried items were nice and crispy and the roti was super flaky! - Drunken Noodle ($9.99) with beef and medium spicy: drunken noodle is one of my usual go to for a Thai dish. I think it was well flavored and the I was even able to handle the medium spicy so it wasn't that bad. - Yellow Curry ($9.99) with beef and medium spicy: this comes with rice and was our least favorite out of all the dishes we ordered. Was still pretty good but in my opinion, I have had better yellow curries. CUSTOMER SERVICE: - The service was great. It was a rainy day we came and their cucumber water is good but it was kind of cold and our server asked if I wanted tea and I said yes. When it came, it was a tea bag so I thought there will be a charge on our bill but there wasn't! This is probably the better pho place in the Gilroy area. Broth doesn't taste as good as the one near Costco, but it isn't as murky as that one, which could be a number of reasons why. The price is also not too exorbitant considering the area it resides. I like this place a lot, but it's a drive out to come to this area unless I'm visiting friends. Whether you get soup or an actual dish it is always just as good as the last time and that is something that's hard to find in some places is consistency in the thinga you order. My wife tried the chicken larb, and I had a banh mi BBQ pork sandwich. The food was really tasty: a nice, smoky flavor for the larb, with none of the gritty texture that usually comes from the mulled rice, and the pickled carrots and cucumbers on the sandwich were great!
