    Meat Pho

Nice cozy restaurant in old town Monrovia. Good portion and delicious. Plenty of green onions that I love! Soup is hot the way I prefer. Attentive service !

I'll never order from here again. I ordered an all beef pho that came with 3 different types of beef but there was barley any in there. As well as the noodles was such a tiny portion, it was mainly just onion, along with not even 1 full beef ball, I ordered my beef sandwich with no jalapeños and it still came with jalapeño and the smallest slice of beef. And the toppings only came with 3 jalapeños, 3 mint leaves and one small slice of lemon. Never again, this cost me $45 for everything to come out in small and terrible portions or just wrong. I'm pregnant with the flu right now and this was extremely disappointing.

Very traditional and community rooted. This family restaurant knows what it takes to carry-on they been around for years. I just wish they would allow requested combinations or additives. For example....I wanted tofu and vegetables in my fried rice ... I was told they couldn't do that. It's either one or the other not combining. Service is very attentive and friendly.

I wouldn't come here again.... Maybe for the pomegranate chia lemonade but that's it. I was surprised the place was empty on a Saturday night. But whatever, the place looks cute from the outside, it has good reviews...why not? First off, the place has an off putting smell. Our server was very nice and friendly. We sat in the front by the window. The table was very sticky and greasy. Not cute anymore. The soup selection was limited. With the option to add additional protein and veggie toppings. I was disappointed when I didn't see tendon as one of the options. We ordered 2 Supremes. And 2 orders of pork spring rolls and 2 pomegranate chia lemonades. The rolls came out first with a pre packaged serving of a sauce. Huh?!I was expecting peanut sauce. I asked for peanut sauce. They did t have any. Again, huh?! Anyway, spring rolls tasted off. The soup was just ok. Service was great. But unfortunately my experience was not a good one. It wasn't terrible either, but I just wouldn't come back. As I leave my review I see they are temporarily closed. I wonder why ..

Always amazing! Food is always piping hot and fresh and service is always super super quick. I love coming here for lunch or dinner. I'd recommend the filet mignon pho or rare steak pho along with any type of spring roll! The Thai tea is also super good too :)

I ordered the pork bahn mi and loved it! The meat is crispy and savory and the veggies are super fresh and flavorful. Quick service and a happy vibe. Will def return and try the pho in person since pho is always best eaten in person!

Tasty pho and fast service. The pho taste was pretty standard and delicious. I went on New Years Day and it was open still which was very nice. Perfect for a chilly day. The shop is a little small but roomy enough with available seating.

Back again.. this is my go to spot for Vietnamese in the area. Food is always fresh and service is prompt and attentive. Ambiance is ok I just order to go mostly because parking in Monrovia sucks. They also have the best eggrolls around. Would recommend if you're in the mood for Pho....

Went to Saigon Ave for lunch and we shared a couple of dishes. We started with the pomegranate lemonade w/ chia seeds and the drink was perfectly sweetened, and very refreshing. We ordered the pork spring rolls, the shaking beef banh mi, and the pork vermicelli. All the dishes were very tasty, no complaints. We would definitely return again. The service was very friendly and the restaurant has a nice warm welcoming feel.

    Disgusting unacceptable

we are staying at the hospital nearby and ordered a few items (we order from local spots every day for cancer patient getting treated) the Thai ice tea had bugs ontop and under the lid. His sandwhich had a hair in it ! (the hair was half black half white) horrible service called but got no answer . I want them to be aware because food safety should be top priority. they do not deserve the A on their window . I hope staff sees this because the food you prepared went to someone who wanted Thai tea and is getting treated for cancer.

The food is excellent! I have had their egg rolls, beef pho, pork banh-mi sandwiches with fried egg (and without twice) and Vietnamese coffee. This is my go-to Vietnamese restaurant for the Arcadia/Monrovia area. The interior is dated. But the service is excellent and he always has a smile on his face. He is super friendly! The restaurant is located on a small side street off Myrtle in downtown Monrovia. There is free street parking all around. The pho noodles are flavorful and comforting . The egg rolls are crunchy and you can adjust the sweetness level for the ice coffee. I also love their sandwiches. Overall, the food is consistently good.

Great Bahn Mi, great service. Order directly through them (not Yelp). It's cheaper for you and they make more money.

The backstory on this place is amazing, they bake their own bread in house and have been apart of the Monrovia/Duarte community for a very long time! One bite into this hearty grinder and I can see why. WOW OH WOW my new favorite sandwich shop. FIVE STARS through and through. Service is top notch and the quality of the sandwich AKA GRINDER was elite! I went with the turkey add avocado; PERFECT!! My family had the Gene Special and the meatball special. Tried the meatball and was in heaven on the taste we asked for some marinara on the side and that made it extra delicious! I am looking forward to coming back to try the other grinders on the menu, they have daily specials during the week and the Italian sausage/chicken breast caught my eye. The shop is quite small but still has a few tables to sit inside and enjoy the meal. Menu is pretty straightforward, bread is soft and I think what really makes the grinder. Price is good for what you receive... two sizes on the grinders small or large. I was able to enjoy my second half of the SMALL later in the day which was a treat. Large you could probably split half with another person! These are perfect to take Togo and enjoy your day at the park or the beach!! I'm sad I barely found out about this place as I have missed out on some tasty grinders these past couple years. I got some catching up to do!! Thank you to the family who brought this business to life. You have gained a forever customer!! I will continue to recommend and visit this place any chance I get! YUMMMMMS.

I tried two sandwiches. The Gene's special is fantastic, layered with various ingredients that creates a symphony of flavors - one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. I also tried the regular meatball sandwich and I was surprised by the generous portion of protein and that it was not messy to eat. However, I would like it if it came with more sauce, because the bread soaked most of it and the meat was left a bit dry. If you bring cash, you can avoid a 3% credit card surcharge. Overall, I recommend others to come try the sandwiches. I'll be back for another go at the Gene's special!

I've gotten at least a dozen sandwiches (and likely more) from Ike's over the years, and it was always my favorite local sandwich shop after they finally opened a location in the northeast side of LA. But I must say, as of late, their quality is really not the same as the past. I recently ordered a sandwich that came with mushrooms and it was barely cooked and mostly raw. Having raw mushrooms in a sandwich is really not it, and considering each sandwich here is about $16+ post tax and tip (yes I did tip), I think we can expect a little better quality, or at the very least, not having basically raw mushrooms in a sandwich. While they do have many sandwiches to choose from on such a vast menu, and everything is customizable (just with additional charges), it does feel like they'd do better if they nail down some of the details like making sure their cooked ingredients are actually cooked. All that said, the store is kept clean, there's some dine in tables as well as outdoor seating. The music indoors is kept loud, and the decor is very colorful and bold. Service feels like what you'd expect from employing recent high school or college students at their first jobs, but it's always been polite. Pictured: one of the many sandwiches I've consumed over the years from Ike's. This one attached happened to be from 2023.
