Found this place on Yelp, happened to be in the area and decided to check it out. Located in Radburn Shopping Center, next to a convenient store which sell lottery tickets. There's enough parking, especially on a weekday mid afternoon. Loved the Beef Combo Pho. The broth was excellent, good amount of melt in your mouth slices of beef tendon, tripes, meatballs (house made?) and beef slices. Vietnamese Spring Rolls were also good. Came with the usual cucumber, lettuce and pickled carrots and turnip. Vegetables were cut in long stripes, made it easier to roll them together with the crispy spring rolls in lettuce leaf and dip and take a big bite. Dipping sauce was pungent, on the sour side. Loved the Vietnamese Iced Coffee. Place was clean, a number of paintings decorated the wall space, few traditional hats and greeneries by the window. Reasonable priced food. Service was real good too. Definitely will be going back to try other dishes. read more

Saigon Bistro has locations in cliffside park, jersey city and is now located in Fair Lawn. There are a few small tables to eat inside and parking is never an issue. I typically order to go from their website. I've been sampling their menu from the pho, to the shaken beef to the banh mi and rice combo dishes. All very good. Stopped in for some apps to go. Ordered the Vietnamese Spring Rolls (Cha Gio) and the Vietnamese Dumplings (Hoanh Thanh An Choi), both came with a dipping sauce and a small spicy sauce. Looking around while waiting, I saw some brilliant servings of Pho and Pad Thai. Every dish in this 5 table restaurant had the the picturesque vegetable, so fresh looking, in big bowls with choices of meats. The smells were exquisite!! I will be back to try. When I got back home and tried the apps, man o' man were they good! The fried spring rolls came in a perforated container to let the steam escape and stay crispy. The dumplings in their container remained loose and not sticky. The taste on both were so fresh, mild in a way that you could continue to eat these throughout the day (if only I had ordered more), spiced just right. The dipping sauce deserves a review too. I believe the dipping sauce is a homemade Mae Ploy, but maybe not. It's sweet, sour and mildly spicy, liquidy, best I ever had. I shall return!! read more

Originally excited for a local viet spot, but so disappointed by the food, we're happier driving an extra 15 minutes for better options. The app salad was more like fixings, some wilted shredded lettuce and small amount of pickled veggies. Chicken wings were overcooked, give you 6 small wingette portions - no drumettes, with a sweet garlic topping. My daughter hated the chicken pad Thai, and she is not picky. I know this is a viet place, but if you can't do a Thai dish well, don't have it on the menu. It was dry and the flavors were off. Nothing but noodles and dry grilled chicken strips on top. Chicken pho and pork vermicelli were just ok, again dry grilled meat, limited flavor. Their fish sauce, which comes with most dishes, was super limey, too limey to be versatile. Probably enjoyed the spring rolls the most, but, sadly, no reason to return. read more

I guess the word is out for this new and hot restaurant located at the Rayburn Shopping Center off of Fair Lawn Avenue in Fair Lawn. Saigon Bistro is a popular restaurant serving "authentic southern Vietnamese cuisine" and Asian fusion dishes. This is their third location after Cliffside Park and Jersey City, where I paid them a visit today. Upon entering this quaint restaurant, all five tables were occupied with lunch patrons, and a line was forming outside for the next table. The wait was about 15 minutes. The menu was limited but had the usual pho soup, summer rolls, and banh mi sandwich. As a starter, I went for the summer roll with shrimp, consisting of vermicelli noodles, pickled carrots and daikon, cucumber, green leaf lettuce, mint, and sweet and savory peanut sauce. I decided on the Beef & Brisket Pho soup (slow-cooked beef broth, charred onions, roasted ginger, star anise, cinnamon, and other Vietnamese herbs and spices). The food is authentic, spiced perfectly, and they delivered. I really enjoyed the thick peanut sauce on the rolls. The soup had many delicious herbs, and all of the veggies were really fresh. That in itself is a hearty meal that would fill you up. I look forward to trying other dishes that I can recommend. read more

New Vietnamese restaurant just opened yesterday! Convenient parking, casual fare - there is seating for small groups but we ordered take out. There are some other locations in NJ but glad they opened one in Fair Lawn. All the menu items look really good and tasty. While we only tried the pho (beef and brisket), spring rolls and shrimp summer rolls (might skip the summer rolls next time) I would definitely be interested to try the grilled platters and shaken cubed steak. Credit cards accepted and it looks like they are closed Mondays! Service was quick, and staff are friendly! read more

Great local spot! Went here on a weeknight with my fiancé. Got the wings, pork belly fried rice and a pork belly bahn mi. Good was all flavorful and high quality ingredients. Been here a couple times already, we had pho, and their rice plates. I personally love their grilled protein, you can taste the char from it, very tasty. My husband always get their beef pho when he craves for pho, I think their pho is good, not great. read more

The broth on the pho was good! Service was good! The portions on the beef was awesome as well. We also had the chicken curry which was yummy as well as the cubed steak. The only downside is that it's more geared towards take out. You can dine in but it's very limited. This pho restaurant recently opened in Fair Lawn with authentic Vietnamese food. The place is very cute & colorful -- casual ambience. We got a few appetizers, noodle soup, banh mi, and a rice dish. Everything came out so quick & was so delicious! They even serve authentic Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk which can you can get hot or cold -- we got iced coffee which was strong & delish The service was great with friendly & welcoming staff. So pleased to find good Vietnamese food in Fair Lawn! We particularly love the shaken beef, which is loaded with fresh vegetables all in a great sauce with rice. The spring rolls are so good and are accompanied by julienned lightly pickled radish & carrots, as well as fresh lettuce & mint. The steamed dumplings are also just great. The fried rice & pho are also quite good. Sauces on the table are a nice addition. We often get dishes to go and recently asked for and got a side sauce which helped season the dish perfectly. Big mid. It's good enough if you are really craving viet and lack options. I got the Bun Bo Hue. The soup tasted and looked *very* similar to instant noodle base. MAMA Tom Yum specifically. That ramen brand has a very distinct flavor and look of spices/seasonings. My gut feeling is most people that come here have never bun bo hue, and they don't sell enough to make it proper. No exotic fruit drinks either. Mango, durian, avocado, jackfruit. $23 total with Tax + tip for some mid at best small size Vietnamese food. read more

Saigon Bistro is a welcome addition to takeout in Fair Lawn. The food is good, but the menu needs to be updated. The vegetarian apps and entrees are seriously lacking. The vegetarian soup has no flavor, the vegan summer rolls are very dry and tasteless too. The chicken dishes are much more flavorful, but limited too. Their menu is mostly pork based, which I don't eat. The menu gets boring after a while. It would be awesome if they could add more healthier vegetarian dishes and salads. We've had take-out from SB several times - it's become one of our go-to places. The food is good, the people are friendly, helpful, and careful to get your order right. Parking is easy in the lot (located in the Radburn shopping area), so no hunting for spaces on the street. Phone or online ordering is easy. The eat-in area is small, but kept neat & clean. Favorites include the dumplings for appetizer, pork bahn mi, dumpling noodle soup, curry noodles, any of the sautee platters. Oh yes, good Thai iced tea, too. read more

The place was good when it first opened. Now, cutting corners. The pho soup - no flavor and chicken one is disgusting. They use stir fried chicken from making other dishes. Dry black chicken stripes. It's supposed to be boiled. Who does this, com on? So ordered shrimp pho and specifically asked no over done shrimps. Guess what? They were hard as the rock. Of course, they use it for all dishes premade earlier. Nothing on menu! Most dishes are just dry noodles no sauce /grilled vermicelli, curry noodles, pad Thai, fried rice/ horrible! The only ok is three sautés. If I ask them to separate everything from the soup to a different container they give you two inches of broth less. This is the recipe for ruining your business! The positive: For those of you who hit the Swiss Pork Store in Fair Lawn for weekend BBQs or weekday meat meals, this is an easy place to find as it is right next door. Food is prepared for take out within 15-20" and is delicious. My wife and I hit the spot twice in a week b/c it was easy and tasty. We got the House Specialty Noodle Soup with Chicken ($12.49) (8/10) --delicious, and actually even better reheated next day, the House Specialty Noodle Soup with Beef and Brisket ($12.49) (7/10) which we personally felt was not as good (maybe b/c the beef is sitting in the broth and not boxed separately like the chicken was...causing the beef to be overcooked). The Summer Rolls ($7.49) were about a (6/10) with the peanut dipping sauce being more in the (5/10) range. The summer rolls are good, but something was missing that would have driven the score up. The Lemongrass Saute with Chicken ($14.95) was good that night (7/10), but even better the next day reheated with some rice for lunch (8/10)...great taste profile. Lastly, we also tried the Banh MI with Beef ($11.95) that was good (6/10), but I think the bread got a little steamed and soggy due to take out...probably better if dining in. The constructive criticism: There is nothing more annoying than restaurants having an option to tip at the time of pick up. Look...personally, I will never tip at pick up and I honestly feel it is obnoxious to even ask for a tip. I paid with my credit card and then as I walked away, I was asked to hold on to sign a receipt. First off, why the hell do I need to sign a f'n receipt when I presented the card for payment...never understood that. The only reason I feel that they are asking to sign the receipt is because on the receipt it asks if you want to leave a tip. NOTE TO MANAGEMENT - get rid of the tip option from your operational take out process, it is nothing but annoying. Figure out how to distinguish between a sit down order and pick up order and remove the need to sign the receipt and shame someone into tipping. The add-ons: The restaurant is very clean, which is always a plus and my order was on time both times I picked up and I went about 5-10 min early...remember this, so you if they say pick up in 20", I'd be there no later than 15" from the order time. Lack the extra star bc they messed up my order but it was a honest mistake of not hearing correctly but we just kept the dish bc we felt bad.
