Before leaving, I asked to speak with a manager and was told there was no manager on duty. I then asked for the manager's name and was told it was Jen, but again, that no manager was available to assist me. My concern is not only the wait time or lack of service, but also the fact that I could not help but notice what appeared to be a possible racial bias in who was being acknowledged and assisted. I have been going to So Ba for almost 15 years, and this is the first experience I've had like this. I'm not sure if there is new management, if this was simply an off night, or what led to the lack of service, but I left feeling extremely disappointed and unwelcome. I truly hope this is addressed, because long-time customers should not have to wonder whether they are being ignored or treated differently when simply trying to patronize a business.
