I hadn't been to Saigon Restaurant for a few years and decided to give it a try with a friend. I ordered the egg rolls (6) to share. They were satisfying with lettuce, mint, and basil to wrap around them. I also ordered the large combination meat noodle soup. It was mostly thin sliced pork, beef, and tripe with thin noodles. The soup tasted good in addition to basil leaves and bean sprouts that were available. I might try some of the other selections rather than just plain soup next time. There were only a few people there so service was great. It is a very clean restaurant, and the parking lot was very convenient. read more

NEVER COME TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL FOR FOOD POISONING. DO NOT EAT HERE! My family had a very serious experience after eating fried rice from this restaurant at 9PM on 6/3 and ended up with symptoms consistent with food poisoning, including NAUSEOUS, VOMITING WITH BLOOD that required hospital care on 6/4. This was not a minor issue. When I called to report what happened, the staff hung up on me without any apology, concern, or attempt to resolve the situation. I was also told in a dismissive way to "report it" if I wanted to. The lack of accountability and the way this was handled is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Food safety and customer service should not be treated this way. I strongly advise others to think twice before eating here. I will give negative star if I can. read more

One of my favorite pho restaurants in San Diego, this place has been a staple for many, many years. Known for their variety of menu items, literally the menu is never ending. Everything here is delish. I only took pics from my recent trip but I highly recommend the pho (of course), eggrolls, rare beef salad, boneless crispy duck, fried pork ribs, grilled pork vermicelli, and all of their rice dishes. Still one of my favs Viet places to go for nem nuong, vermicelli bowls and their rice plates! Their rice combo plates are off the hook. They give you so much. It's more than 1 portion. We always have left overs and eat it for lunch the next day. Their vermicelli is just as good. Our other favorite is their salt and pepper shrimp. It's fried so crispy and so much flavor. At the end we did take some leftovers to go which is good to eat the next day with some white rice at home. This is a great restaurant to go to on a casual weekday dinner or a big family occasion.
