It has been so long but nothing has changed. Food was great and fresh. Portions are huge enough to have leftovers for days. Their water is infused with lemongrass? which is unusual. Must try their chicken wings. It's a little feathery but once plucked it's super flavorful.

Food is great and authentic as always. Service was nice and friendly. Easy parking as there's a huge lot in front. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant is clean and spacious.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Would highly recommend!

    hematemesis due to food poison

NEVER COME TO THIS RESTAURANT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO STAY IN THE HOSPITAL FOR FOOD POISONING. DO NOT EAT HERE! My family had a very serious experience after eating fried rice from this restaurant at 9PM on 6/3 and ended up with symptoms consistent with food poisoning, including NAUSEOUS, VOMITING WITH BLOOD that required hospital care on 6/4. This was not a minor issue. When I called to report what happened, the staff hung up on me without any apology, concern, or attempt to resolve the situation. I was also told in a dismissive way to "report it" if I wanted to. The lack of accountability and the way this was handled is extremely disappointing and unacceptable. Food safety and customer service should not be treated this way. I strongly advise others to think twice before eating here. I will give negative star if I can.

One of my favorite pho restaurants in San Diego, this place has been a staple for many, many years. Known for their variety of menu items, literally the menu is never ending. Everything here is delish. I only took pics from my recent trip but I highly recommend the pho (of course), eggrolls, rare beef salad, boneless crispy duck, fried pork ribs, grilled pork vermicelli, and all of their rice dishes. Spring rolls are huge! Packed with fresh veggies, pork and shrimp. You won't feel guilty eating them. It's almost like eating a salad on the go. I also ordered their banh xeo, crispy, filled with veggies, shrimp and pork paired with their sauce and option to eat with lettuce. Highly recommended. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have ample seating, perfect for big family gatherings, hanging with friends or perfect for date night.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This place has something for everyone. Staff is super sweet and friendly too. Helpful with recommendations.

Our family has been coming here for years. No-frills Vietnamese restaurant. The special family meal is a good deal. Big portions and tasty food; my favorites are the Ca Kho and clams with black bean sauce.

Half order of boneless crispy duck. So delicious, rich, and tender. The dipping sauce is so yummy!

I remember coming to Saigon with my dad as a kid and ordering phở. This place used to be popping and always packed. Over the years it has quieted down, but the food is still just as incredible as I remember. I recently visited again and ordered the crispy duck, which I hadn't had in years. It did not disappoint. Still as delicious as ever. Saigon has been a staple in City Heights for a long time and truly deserves more love and support. If you haven't tried their crispy duck yet, you're missing out. I promise it will blow your mind. Go check them out and support a place that has been serving amazing food for years. You can thank me laters!

My fiancée and I were craving com tam one day and we were searching on yelp to see which restaurant has the broken rice dish on their menu. I saw the pictures that Saigon had and it looked the most appealing. However the restaurant itself had a 3 star so we were skeptical. I've been here before since I was young but maybe things have changed and it's not good anymore? We decided to give it a chance and order to go here. The food came in a huge portion and it smelled scrumptious! 10/10 recommend for the broken rice with grilled pork. It was good and not dry. The dish came with a small bowl of soup and lots of veggies!

Best broken rice in SD. Get the grilled pork one. Super flavorful and generous portions. Another fav is the grape leaf beef, which you wrap into spring rolls. Food takes a while to come out but it's well worth the wait.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Surprisingly super clean for an old building. They had a dedicated unc cleaning the whole time we were there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] PORTIONS WERE MASSIVE! Picky when it comes to viet food but everything here was good and fresh tasting.

This is the 2nd time this has happened where this restaurant just decided to close before the actual closing time. I cut them some slack last time but I can't just keep silent on this. Can I speak to the quality and taste of the food? Nope! I can say their service sucks because they are too lazy to stay open till their guaranteed hours. I arrived tonight at 8:37pm (on a night when they're supposed to be open till 10pm) to find them completely closed. Thank goodness other Vietnamese restaurants were open till scheduled hours or my family and I would have starved.

Just ate here at 4:00pm so it wasn't busy and my party was seated instantly. I love the variety in the menu, it has almost every Vietnamese dish I know! Delicious Pho broth and grilled pork, highly recommend!

They have a super easy online ordering system right at the table which makes things convenient. We ordered the spicy lamb biang biang noodles and the non-spicy beef pulled noodles, and both had the perfect chew and incredible flavor. We also ordered the garlic green beans, but they came out so late that we were already completely full from the noodles, so we took them to go. Thank god we did, because they turned out to be pretty salty on their own and really needed to be paired with white rice at home. Overall, an amazing spot for authentic noodles! Something I didn't love though, you order and pay through the online menu. Considering you leave a tip I don't fully understand how it works when we did this whole process ourselves. I also noticed other tables getting plates and bowls which we had to ask for. Overall, I felt the servers weren't too friendly either and seemed to rush through our table despite them standing around not seeming too busy. The food was excellent though! The soup had a great spice to it and super flavorful. The beef and onion was so juicy and addictive, the green beans were good too and had a slight kick to them.

TL;DR It's really good. Go here…read more -------------- I came here after a friend recommended it when I told them I was coming down to San Diego for a day trip during my spring break from school in Orange County. I was born and raised in LA, so I've had a lot of Chinese food growing up, and I wasn't expecting to be this surprised--but I really was. I ordered the black bean eggplant and the salt and pepper chicken wings. The wings are what they're known for, but I have to start with the eggplant because it completely caught me off guard. It wasn't mushy at all--crispy on the outside, perfectly cooked on the inside, and coated in sauce without losing its texture. Every bite had depth and balance, not just saltiness. I actually meant to start with the wings, but the eggplant was so good I ended up eating half of it before even getting to them. By that point I was already getting full, but I still made sure to finish the wings--and I'm honestly excited to take the rest of the eggplant home as leftovers. By the time I got to the wings, I understood why they're popular--crispy, flavorful, and super satisfying--but what stood out to me was how both dishes complemented each other. One rich and layered, the other crisp and bright. I never got tired of eating, which honestly says a lot. I even told the staff how much I enjoyed the food and they thought I was joking, but I meant every word in saying I thought it was comparable, if not better then the food I've had in Chinatown in LA. Really glad I came here and the next time I have a chance to come back down to SD I definitely will come back here and that's not negotiable for me

This place is NOT worth the high rating it has. We ordered the Fried Green Beans, they were cooked in oil that was obviously not to temperature. Too greasy for consumption. To make it worse? They were drowned in salt! The Crispy Beef was nothing but thick dough with no beef inside. To add insult to injury it was BURNED so badly that all you could smell was burnt dough and taste burned dough. Hardly any sauce on it as well. The Shrimp Fried Rice should have just been plain white rice for how bland it was. The Vegetable Chow Mein literally was just a container of salt. Slim noodles and salt, disgusting! We spent so much money and all of this is going right into the garbage. Stay away from this hole! It should be shut down for trying to poison people. Feels like I am going to go blind from the amount of salt I ingested from only a few bites. Gross!!

It was empty coming in around 5:30pm on a Friday, but it soon filled to capacity in the next hour. So coming into it, we thought we would choose between Menu A and Menu B. Afterwards, we thought it was AYCE on the menu of your choice + the side buffet where there are limited selections of sides and refrigerated drinks. We ordered orange chicken, Chinese style fish and something else. Again, this was on the thought that we could order more than one item on our selected menu. So imagine our surprise when the bill was nearly $100 for two people? It was a misunderstanding. However, the initial staff gentlemen was completely rude about it and ignored us as we sought to understand. Finally, a second female server came and heard our concerns regarding the false advertisement and unclear messaging. She was able to provide us the price we thought this was for based on Menu selection. All in all - I don't recommend the AYCE option. I think it would be important to make a distinction that AYCE clearly on the menu and at the front - AYCE means each individual selects ONE entree (which is a one small portion) and the AYCE component of the deal is ONLY for the side buffet.

The menu said the family meals were meant for parties of 8, but let me tell you. We ate until we were hurting and there was still a ton of leftovers. Those meals can easily serve a dozen people in my opinion which makes them even more of a great deal. If you've got a large party, this is a fantastic option to make sure everyone eats their fill. With that said, all the food was delicious. Hot and fresh from the kitchen, each dish with its own unique flavor and textures. We ran the gamut of flavors over our meal and it's hard to really point to one singular dish that was my favorite. After having almost 10 different dishes, I can confidently say that they will have something you will really enjoy. The restaurant itself is a bit no frills. But that's fine. They're putting their time in to food, not ambiance and I am totally down with that. Service is great. We were in a back corner, but we never felt ignored nor overly watched over. We were able to sit down and enjoy our meal at our own speed. My only 'gripe' with the restaurant is that the restroom is actually outside and shared with the other businesses in the complex. And that bathroom isn't the best maintained. I'm assuming that's up to the property management and not the restaurant (or other businesses) so I'm not dinging my review, but just keep that in mind. Might be best to try & hold it if you can. Ultimately, Golden Chopsticks really knocked it out of the park and caught me so off guard. I am so glad we came here on a bit of a whim. It was fantastic and I can't wait to go back.
