My only critique--and it may seem a petty one--is the music was banal, trite, American and British pop hits from the early 2000s. There is so much good Viet pop and other Asian music--K-pop if nothing else--they could play, so why this? I don't want to hear the same music Kohl's plays at a restaurant so magical and delicious. So, as we drove over for our second visit we hoped Ashlynn would be there again. Well, our wish came true and we were greeted by Ashlynn when we walked through the doors. Not a problem for me, as I was alone, so taking up a small table near the entry was not a problem. I was greeted when I walked in and told to sit anywhere, so the small table was perfect for me. Inside is decorated relatively sparsely, but it is appropriate. The menu is what you would expect in pretty much any pho house, if you have been to a few. I went for a standard beef and meatball pho and the summer rolls, as I do love a good summer roll. They of course came out first, and I started in on them as I read my book and waited for the pho to come out. Both dishes were quite good, and if I am in the area I will absolutely be returning. It is a good heartwarming food experience, and in the colder months it is a perfect way to warm up a bit.

We generally order the same thing at Vietnamese restaurants, Summer Rolls and big bowls of Pho, and this visit was no different. What WAS different is that they had 3 sizes to choose from- small, medium and large. I ordered the medium beef combination, and my wife ordered the small Beef Rare & Brisket. Our server quickly brought our rolls and the soup accompaniments. The Summer Rolls were typical. I thought that the wrapping was a bit chewy, but they were full and flavorful. The peanut sauce was a bit thick, but tasty. Our soups arrived, and boy, the broth smelled great! I quickly got a spoon to taste, and it was excellent! I put the bean sprouts, jalapeno, and basil in my bowl, and a bit of chili, and mixed it all together, tasty, hot, and filling!
