I got a delicious bowl of both Ahi and Salmon with all the ingredients I could have wanted. The fish was fresh and could not have asked for more. However, there's an additional aspect to this review that really puts them above five stars. I was unexpectedly in Tampa as the result of a mandatory evacuation order along the Gulf coast due to category 4 Hurricane Ian (Sept 2022) about to smash into the area. Everything in Tampa was shut down, even the places you may be able to find something remotely considered food, like gas stations. Sailing Poke Bowl was not only open, the whole family kids and all were in there working, and they had a huge line of what were probably other displaced people trying to find a meal that long day. Can't tell you how appreciative I am for them to have chosen to remain open, putting themselves at risk, so I could eat something other than a bag of chips and a Big Gulp for dinner.

I made the mistake of assuming this place is only poke because of their business/restaurant name. They serve poke and also hibachi options. I had seen several other Tampa yelp friends check in here so I decided to try it since I was in that shopping center at another business there. Sadly and Unfortunately my experience here was not the greatest. As soon as I walked in the energy and service was not very friendly. I ordered a regular poke bowl with 2 proteins. The fish was not very fresh and I am not exaggerating when I say I got 3 small diced/cubes of yellowfish and a small scoop of spicy tuna. I will say that the toppings are unlimited but its a poke bowl not a veggie/toppings bowl. The ratio of fish to toppings was ridiculous. Not the greatest experience so I don't anticipate returning. I will opt for a solely poke business.

I've been coming here for about a year and get a poke bowl from here at least a couple times a month. I've been to other poke bowl places in the area and it just doesn't compare to this place. This place is authentic, fresh, and so yummy!! Recently I've switched from rice to greens (gluten and grain free), and the poke bowls are still just as good. I've never had a problem with customer service either. On top of that, they're so quick!! The three times I've been to a different poke shop in Tampa the service was so slow. I felt like their employees were new and not knowledgeable about their work area. Not this place, same quick and nice service each and every time! Also, compared to other places, this place gives plenty of the filling and toppings, like the bowl actually gets filled which I really appreciate.

Had a delicious poke bowl from here the other day! A little gem in the Carrollwood area! Highly recommend!

After my not so good poke experience last week, I still had a craving for good poke, so when I was up in the Carrollwood area I 'Yelped' for poke and found the Sailing Poke Bowl! Boy, oh boy, am I glad I did! They have very fresh ingredients with the choice of white & brown rice, mixed salad, and...I can't remember the 4th 1st layer. Then a TON of options, so many that you fill out what you want on a clipboard and there are 2 bowl sizes or a sushi burrito. When I was going to order the burrito the server told me that unless I really just LOVE the seaweed, it's the same price as the bowl and you get more in a bowl. He was right and I now know if I want to walk out and not roll out, I should just order the burrito! Haha I didn't feel like I overdid it with ingredients, but WOW! My bowl was overflowing with yummy stuff and each bite was a delight!! I can't WAIT to go back! They also have rolled ice cream, but you can't do both. Believe me.

While trying to get another restaurant we decided to stop here after seeing the several good reviews! It's very pretty and welcoming inside and the staff was friendly! They have several Hawaiian sodas and drink options and for the poke bowls or poke nachos they have some really great toppings to choose from. They have two bowl size options, you can choose a signature bowl or make your own. I chose to make my own while my friend got the sailing classis. The quality of the sushi was great but I decided not to add on edamame since it looked kind of old as the pineapple. I also don't typically get a charge for a side sauce instead of having it on top of my bowl. Besides those minor concerns, I'll definitely be checking them out again.

So I have a few places that i prefer to get Poke from ....and some that I prefer NOT to get it from. Well add this place to the preferred list!!! Delicious and fresh and bursting with flavor! The freshest of ingredients and special requests all correct! Can't wait until the next time!

I like the name Sailing. It is almost sailing to island to have poke. This restaurant is rather new. It has a lot potential. They have poke and ice cream. I would go for the poke. The poke dish has two protein in regular size or three protein with larger size. The difference is 6" bowl and 10" bowl. I would go for the large. The other thing I need to mention is their unlimited topping of you choice. I also like their protein choice. The have more choices on the protein and different than other poke place. It has the grilled eel option. Other things that attract you is their sauce is thicker and not watery. Which make this poke location a win win choice. We like the larger size with larger diameter to contain more toppings. Above three reasosn will be the driving force for repeat customer.

Ahi / yellow tail girlfriend poke bowl!

Pretty good Poke Bowl! Since I am Low Carbing it right now... no Rice! :( So chose the Organic Spring Mix base, Ahi and Yellowtail for proteins, and a variety of veggies and sauces to finish. I would estimate the protein servings are about an ounce per scoop... so reasonable considering what sushi grade fish costs per pound. The scoop is about halfway between a full ice cream scoop and a melon ball scoop. I used to pay $25 per pound for Sushi Grade Tuna... so 2 ounces in a $10 poke bowl is reasonable, although yes.. more would be nice. It is cut up rather small.. but that means you get more per scoop also. And it is tasty... the Tuna was fresh and the delicious, the YellowTail was ok! Fair selection of veggies and they were all fresh, and the avocado I got was still green and yummy, not oxidized. Everything was tasty. Sauces? I got the poke sauce, and Spicy Mayo... and it was a good combo. I saw a couple of really negative reviews... I thought they were a little unrealistic personally, but we all have different perceptions! Eat there yourself, make up your own mind, right? One added PLUS is that Sailing Poke Bowls also has Ice Cream Rolls... which are always treat! Tasty too.. with fresh fruit! And being open on Easter was nice... when selections of places to grab a quick (healthy) lunch are somewhat limited. I would definitely go back... but might get the large bowl next time, since I like larger portions! ;)

I'm curious as to all the bad reviews for a newly opened place. I went online to their website, confirmed al my toppings, placed my ordered and within seconds received a call to confirm my order. Everything was fresh. I got the spicy tuna and eel. With a lettuce and brown rice base. I ordered the 10 additional toppings which included more protein with crab and topped it off with eel sauce. Everything was fresh, tasty, and I got 10% off for their grand opening! For $2 more I could have upgraded the size and toppings but it was perfect as is. Definitely glad to see so many good restaurants in a plaza that has historically had difficulties holding good places.

I've been coming to this poke place for 4 years. They have consistently been the most reasonably priced, most flavourful poke place I have gone to. They have so much variety in terms of toppings. Now they have hibachi and that in itself is amazing! We've had the chicken and salmon, chicken and shrimp, & steak and shrimp. Every one has been a great high qualify meal. The gyoza and shumai are excellent! 5/5

Been here many many times. Always seems fresh. I get the sauces on the side because some of them have heavy hands. Very friendly service. Very fast. I wouldn't eat here if I thought the fish was not fresh so I'm delighted to have found this place! I didn't enjoy the rolled ice cream however. I got the matcha flavor and maybe that is why. ? I wish they had better toppings for ice cream like that sweet white sauce other places have. I don't even know what it is. Maybe a condensed milk type of topping.

The ingredients are fresh, the sauces are delicious, and there's lots of variety for those of us who can't narrow it down to just three things. I've also tried their clear onion soup (SO flavorful!), the dumplings (very tasty but definitely need a sauce, I mixed together some soy sauce and sesame oil and it was good), and a couple of noodle dishes. I haven't had a single bad meal from here. The counter guy is always so friendly and will stop whatever he's doing to help, too, and I love him for it! I'm definitely going to try eating in one day. The inside is very pretty and looks fancy but the vibe is so relaxed. Absolutely having a meal here soon!

This place is small but it has a nice Asian inspired look with the lanterns hanging above and the dark color . The gentleman at the counter was helpful with questions. You actually use a marker to indicate everything you want on the bowl on a plastic menu and give it back, then they bring the bowl out to you. The fish, vegetables, and rice were VERY fresh and the ingredients were mixed together well. While 90 percent of the items were the same as U poke spot, there are some differences They have mango pieces, baby octopus as a protein. The egg is a half boiled egg as opposed to a diced option. They don't have mango salsa here though. Open Sundays and parking is not a problem. Cons I ordered 3 proteins -spicy tuna, spicy salmon and spicy shrimp. The shrimp was good. However, the tuna and salmon were cut into very tiny pieces almost 1 cm in length and width and it felt like there was very little of it in general. Or there was more rice relative to other places. I wish it was in bigger chunks. Overall: A great place to get poke on a budget with great tasting ingredients in the USF area

I walked in and the store was nearly empty, with only one customer ahead of me who was also a first-time customer just like me and was asking the guy questions about their sauces and etc. After a couple minutes of me waiting, another couple walked in behind me and that's when a woman came out of the kitchen to help with the line. Despite there barely being customers, the woman rushed through the interaction and was rushing me. When I wanted to ask questions (y'know to make sure I make a bowl that's actually edible), she had an attitude as if I was a bother. Any word I spoke was met with "what else. what else. what else." I was genuinely confused because obviously business is slow if they have to give a deal for a free can of soda if someone orders a bowl after 5pm. You need customers. Just from the way she handled me, it made me uncomfortable and no longer interested in trying out anything they had to offer. I ended up leaving without anything from there and went a little further down to "The Dough Show" for my lunch break and the service (and food) was excellent.

Upon entering the restaurant it is quick service but the restaurant itself is very nice and well decorated. Not your standard bright white, plain poke restaurant. All of the ingredients are very fresh. I was a bit overwhelmed by the menu in a good way. They have so many amazing options. While we came for the poke, they also have a açaí bowl bar, hot food and even Boba. It was so hard deciding what to get because everything looked and sounded so fresh and amazing. I settled on the first and most popular menu item The Ultimate Poke Sushi Bowl. Everything included sounded delicious. I did sub the carrots for ginger and added mango. The price is only $14.99 which is amazing cause other poke restaurants charge more. What makes it even more impressing is the whopping amount of food they give you. They are not stingy on the portions by any means. In fact I had so much leftover I got to have two great meals out of it. I didn't get boba as it was late and I was just excited for dinner but I did get a fountain drink. They have stubborn soda which I love. It's made with cane sugar. The employee working was very kind. I do not live near our office but I look forward to coming back when I visit our office again or if I'm near by visiting. Excellent food.
