I got a delicious bowl of both Ahi and Salmon with all the ingredients I could have wanted. The fish was fresh and could not have asked for more. However, there's an additional aspect to this review that really puts them above five stars. I was unexpectedly in Tampa as the result of a mandatory evacuation order along the Gulf coast due to category 4 Hurricane Ian (Sept 2022) about to smash into the area. Everything in Tampa was shut down, even the places you may be able to find something remotely considered food, like gas stations. Sailing Poke Bowl was not only open, the whole family kids and all were in there working, and they had a huge line of what were probably other displaced people trying to find a meal that long day. I had seen several other Tampa yelp friends check in here so I decided to try it since I was in that shopping center at another business there. I've been coming here for about a year and get a poke bowl from here at least a couple times a month. I've been to other poke bowl places in the area and it just doesn't compare to this place. After my not so good poke experience last week, I still had a craving for good poke, so when I was up in the Carrollwood area I 'Yelped' for poke and found the Sailing Poke Bowl! Boy, oh boy, am I glad I did! They have very fresh ingredients with the choice of white & brown rice, mixed salad, and...I can't remember the 4th 1st layer. Then a TON of options, so many that you fill out what you want on a clipboard and there are 2 bowl sizes or a sushi burrito. When I was going to order the burrito the server told me that unless I really just LOVE the seaweed, it's the same price as the bowl and you get more in a bowl. He was right and I now know if I want to walk out and not roll out, I should just order the burrito! Haha I didn't feel like I overdid it with ingredients, but WOW! While trying to get another restaurant we decided to stop here after seeing the several good reviews! It's very pretty and welcoming inside and the staff was friendly! They have several Hawaiian sodas and drink options and for the poke bowls or poke nachos they have some really great toppings to choose from. They have two bowl size options, you can choose a signature bowl or make your own. I chose to make my own while my friend got the sailing classis. The quality of the sushi was great but I decided not to add on edamame since it looked kind of old as the pineapple. I also don't typically get a charge for a side sauce instead of having it on top of my bowl. Besides those minor concerns, I'll definitely be checking them out again. read more

The poke dish has two protein in regular size or three protein with larger size. The difference is 6" bowl and 10" bowl. I would go for the large. The other thing I need to mention is their unlimited topping of you choice. I also like their protein choice. The have more choices on the protein and different than other poke place. It has the grilled eel option. Other things that attract you is their sauce is thicker and not watery. Which make this poke location a win win choice. Pretty good Poke Bowl! Since I am Low Carbing it right now... no Rice! :( So chose the Organic Spring Mix base, Ahi and Yellowtail for proteins, and a variety of veggies and sauces to finish. I would estimate the protein servings are about an ounce per scoop... so reasonable considering what sushi grade fish costs per pound. The scoop is about halfway between a full ice cream scoop and a melon ball scoop. I used to pay $25 per pound for Sushi Grade Tuna... so 2 ounces in a $10 poke bowl is reasonable, although yes.. more would be nice. It is cut up rather small.. but that means you get more per scoop also. And it is tasty... the Tuna was fresh and the delicious, the YellowTail was ok! Fair selection of veggies and they were all fresh, and the avocado I got was still green and yummy, not oxidized. Everything was tasty. Sauces? I got the poke sauce, and Spicy Mayo... and it was a good combo. I saw a couple of really negative reviews... I thought they were a little unrealistic personally, but we all have different perceptions! Eat there yourself, make up your own mind, right? One added PLUS is that Sailing Poke Bowls also has Ice Cream Rolls... which are always treat! Tasty too.. with fresh fruit! And being open on Easter was nice... when selections of places to grab a quick (healthy) lunch are somewhat limited. I'm curious as to all the bad reviews for a newly opened place. I went online to their website, confirmed al my toppings, placed my ordered and within seconds received a call to confirm my order. Everything was fresh. I got the spicy tuna and eel. With a lettuce and brown rice base. I ordered the 10 additional toppings which included more protein with crab and topped it off with eel sauce. Everything was fresh, tasty, and I got 10% off for their grand opening! For $2 more I could have upgraded the size and toppings but it was perfect as is. Been here many many times. Always seems fresh. I get the sauces on the side because some of them have heavy hands. Very friendly service. Very fast. I wouldn't eat here if I thought the fish was not fresh so I'm delighted to have found this place! I didn't enjoy the rolled ice cream however. I got the matcha flavor and maybe that is why. ? Why 4 stars? Because this is a convenient poke option for Carrollwood. --- --- --- I noticed when this place was under construction that it was going to be a poke spot and I was incredibly excited. I have a few places around town that I like to go for poke, but none of them are super close to my house. Sailing Poke Bowl is right in my (Carrol)hood, so I knew I'd be visiting as soon as they opened. And then I completely forgot about it until I visited another restaurant in this plaza! I looked it up on Yelp and saw that they already had more than 30 reviews with a 4.5 star rating. So less than 24 hours later, I was right back in virtually the same parking spot as the night before, but this time for Sailing. I walked in around 6p on a Monday and there was no one in the restaurant besides the woman behind the booth. She even had all of the food covered up, which made it seem like I was the first person to come through the doors in a while. She handed me a card where I was able to fill out everything I wanted in my poke bowl. I then paid and within 2-3 minutes, my food was ready. While I was waiting, two other customers showed up, which was nice because I really do hope that Sailing is able to survive. As for my bowl - it was solid. I've definitely had better poke bowls, but it wasn't bad. I probably ordered about 60% of the toppings that I could have and it my bowl was stuffed to the max. I was somewhat tempted to place everything into a larger bowl just so that it was easier to maneuver, but I decided to just start stuffing my face instead. This place also offers rolled ice cream and I noticed some of those fun (Taiwanese?) sodas in the cooler. I think they are Taiwanese, but I could be totally wrong about that. This place is great! I absolutely love the order forms, because I can really take my time without making a weird bowl on accident. Honest review: 3.5 I tried this place last night. I got a regular and a large poke bowl for me and the bestie to go. The portions and pricing are pretty good here! Definitely didn't even make it 1/4 of the way through my bowl before I was full. For $15, because I got the extra avocado and spicy crab salad, I'd say that's pretty decent for poke! I got the large bowl with sushi rice, yellowtail, spicy salmon, and eel. I absolutely love that eel is a choice here! It's definitely not something you normally see! Their spicy poke sauce is not really spicy. My main complaint is that I asked for spicy mayo and eel sauce on the side, instead of in the bowl (because I know I usually have left overs), and didn't get it. Part of me thinks maybe if I had more than one sauce actually on the bowl it would have been a bit better. Overall, it was good enough and I enjoyed it. We ordered from some small sheets clipped to a clip board. I selected ingredients I thought I would like and the base was salad (wasn't sure about it but I did it anyway). The lady who prepared it served all the food to our table (100 different ways to do Poke so I was taking a chance). I also ordered the GYioza (not sure if its spelled the correct way. The meal was so good!!! I loved it absolutely delicious. I have gone a second time within the same month because I was actually craving it.` So there you have it, my review. I tried this place once, and have kept coming back. Super clean, and the ingredients are always fresh. The atmosphere is casual service is always exceptional. I always get the same order, and interchange between tuna and eel, and tuna with spicy tuna as my proteins. And I mix brown rice with salad, as toppings I do edamame, carrots, cucumbers, masago, and mango. As my sauces I usually stick to eel sauce and spicy mayo. Like I said, I love this place. In terms of the food I'm not really sure how it is but my main attraction to the restaurant was the ice cream. I went with my sister and two friends from out of town and we really wanted to try the fresh rolled ice cream. My friend tried the honey blueberry and my sister and I had the Matcha King. The honey blueberry consisted of strawberry mango blueberry with vanilla ice cream and the Matcha King consisted of green tea ice cream with chopped strawberries. I must say is quite labor to put this dessert together. First the liquid mixture is poured onto a frozen slab, whatever fruit that you want to use is chopped into the mixture and then it is continuously maneuvered until it freezes and becomes the correct texture. Next it has to be scraped into a roll and placed into a cup. One of the coolest parts of the desert is just seeing how it's made. The Macho King flavor is absolutely the bomb. I'm sure all the flavors are delicious and I definitely recommend you coming here for the desert because it's delicious if you're looking for something light refreshing and freshly made in front of you. read more

This place is a gem! They're definitely gonna have me in for lunch every day! I love how you get a checklist and can fill out what you want versus having to go down a long menu. Makes it easier for both! Their sushi burritos are to die for, and I feel fresh and light whenever I eat here! Everyone is really nice! The black man working here has such a great energy I love his vibe! But everyone is great! It's right next to my job! Only down side (which isn't their fault just a heads up) is the area. We arrived around 9 and it was empty. You receive a check list of what you want and you hand it to the patron to make it for you. The large bowl consists of 3 proteins and unlimited toppings. I went with salmon, tuna, and ell. They have a good amount of toppings to choose from, krab salad included to my surprise. For the price you certainly get a good amount of food. On your way in they have coupons on top of the trash can so make sure to check those out before placing your order so you can use them!
