This charming little French restaurant is wonderful! The interior is akin to a small bistro, but, you don't eat the interior, you eat the food. The escargot is deliciously garlicky and you want to sop up every bit with the French bread! After enjoying the escargot, be sure to enjoy the French onion soup! Recently, my friend and I dined here. She enjoyed the beef tenderloin while I ordered the lamb chops. Both were absolutely delicious! The price fixed menu includes three courses and is worth every penny! For dessert we had the apple tart that was devine and served with vanilla ice cream. Their wines are fabulous, and, the mixed drinks are outstanding as well. Every year we try to celebrate the daughter's birthday in one of DFW's best restaurants. This year, we tried Saint Emilion at the recommendation of a friend. It was a good call. Service was excellent. Atmosphere was "Provencial" as advertised. Think small country eatery with tables close together. It reminded me of some intimate pubs we visited in Scotland. You could keep your conversation to yourselves, or meet the folks next to you. The soup of the day was Mushroom or Onion (of course). Both were approved by the party members. The onion soup was thick enough to be close to a stew. Probably the best I have had. The ladies enjoyed the mushroom offering with a generous quantity of sliced champions. We tried the Pate' and found it a bit bland for our taste. Lamb chops and filets were the main course. The pommes frites (aka French fries) were not a real compliment to the steak, but the portion was adequate. The salad was a mixed greens in vinaigrette served with Monchego and double-cream Brie. Pretty good. Desserts were the Baba-Rhum cake, Creme Broulle, and Tiramisu. Tasty enough. A party of three with two cocktails, upcharges for two filets, one appetizer, and three desserts came to $266.30 before tip. Saint Emilion was a far superior experience to that armpit called "The Mansion" in Upchuck Dallas, or Wolfgang Puck's old haunt at the top of Reunion Tower. Give Saint Emilion a try. Tonight I was able to enjoy a truly amazing dinner. In a French bistro that took me back to Paris I was able to enjoy a full dinner that was incredible. Started with Escargot, and for the prix fixe I ordered Steak Tartare, Rack if Lamb, and finished with a salad with fromage (cheese). I finished the dinner with a 10yr port and coffee ice cream dessert. This dinner was spot on relaxed and well executed from start to finish. Catherine was my waiter, and she was kind, professional, and cute. I was so thankful for such a professional experience as a single dinner, and I look forward to future dinning experiences here. We love St. E. This was our first visit after the recent renovation. It is the same warm, country bistro ambiance as before. The service is extraordinary. The menu offers a lovely variety of offerings, and the wine list is now comprised of wines mostly all under 40 to 60 bucks! I was just not overwhelmed by the food this visit. As you know, each of all our tastes differ and no restaurant produces the exact same product every evening, so keep that in mind and take this accordingly. I started with the beet and goat cheese salad with a horseradish vinaigrette. The nice chunk of goat cheese was infused with, I think, apricots. Delicious. The greens also were lovely, but to my taste the beets were overcooked and rather tasteless and I, personally, was not crazy about the horseradish vinaigrette. I next had the escargot. It is served in a lovely little copper tinned chafing dish with mushroom duxelles and topped with grated parmesan. It may be my eyesight and age and lighting but I think the mushroom duxelle was prepared with fairly large mushroom pieces which,if so, I could not distinguish in flavor or texture from the snails. At any rate I thought it was all overpowered by the grated parm on top. For my entree I ordered the mussels app which is twelve mussels, vs. the large serving of twenty-four. The mussels were steamed perfectly, but there was nothing at all about the sauce that begged me to dip the bread on the table to sop it up. I enjoyed the mussels, but to my taste the sauce was bland. I've been eating here off and on for over 30 years and I have never eaten at a finer restaurant. The service is impeccable and the food, although not the typical meat and salad type, is awesome. So tonight's Bistro Menu was exquisite. Starting with the most delicious blinis followed by caviar. The service was fantastic with just enough interface to discuss the old world wine selections. Escargot was our appetizer of choice followed by the main course of Beef Stroganoff. As they say, it's not you mamas Stroganoff. The beef was awesome perfect in size and taste. The plating was also amazing simple yet beautiful. To finish off the meal they brought us Strawberries Romanoff to die for. At $25 per person this is a great value and a Fort Worth hidden treasure. A gem on the outskirts of the Monticello neighborhood. Housed in a Swiss/French looking chalet this restaurant surprised us with something new - a wine selection table. Yes, bottles of wine are arranged on a table with price tags and you make your selection that way - we've never seen that before. We enjoyed the expert service, prix fix menu with appetizer, entree, and dessert, and people watching. Our reservation at 7pm seemed to be in-between the early crowd and the 8pm crowd. Absolutely lovely experience here. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at Saint-Emilion's. As of March 2022, they're doing a 3 course meal for $50, extra cost for appetizers, wine, or desserts. My starter course, the onion soup, was decadent and flavorful. I had duck á l'orange for the main course with confit potatoes. The meat was fall off the bone, everything on the plate was delicious and well seasoned. The final course included greens, cheese, and jam. We decided to splurge and finished a crème brûlée as well. Intimate dining, good food, but lackluster service. Our party of 4 overall enjoyed the meal, but there were some comical gaffes by the staff and overall pretty slow service. For example, we ordered escargot as an appetizer - after about a 30 minute wait we asked about it and one of the servers said that the kitchen mistakingly assumed we wanted it with our main course. Alas, a few minutes later the entrees came out and the escargot was still absent. So obviously the first excuse was a lie, they just forgot about them... It's been a few months since our meal, so I don't even remember what I had but it was fine -- albeit forgettable. Ultimately Saint Emilion fell short of our expectations. The Wife had only one request for her birthday - Saint-Emilion. I've driven past this Fort Worth staple many times over the years without ever dining there, and since it was at the top of my wife's list, it was finally time to try out some fine French cuisine in Fort Worth. Saint-Emilion has everything you would expect from a place that specializes in French cuisine: an extensive wine selection, service that is very professional and on point, a menu featuring plenty of seafood and game, and a very comfortable and welcoming atmosphere. Of course, there is also higher associated cost that comes with such services (which means for me, higher expectations). For the hors d'oeuvres, we went with some Cape Cod Jumbo Scallops, which lived up to their name. Several giant, tasty scallops to enjoy. Great start to the meal. The choices for a meal were a bit difficult as they do have some very unique options here. Since this was my first time, I figured best to go with that the place is famous for, the roasted duck (SAINT-EMILION'S CANARD RÔTI ET SES FRITES). The Wife ordered the Beef Bourguignon, which she loved. The roasted duck, simply put, was amazing. Not just the flavor of the duck, roasted on a wood fire, but the presentation itself. The duck comes served to you with its skin made golden brown by honey glaze and careful cooking. The skin was tender, but also crispy and I think it made the dish. I would recommend this to any Saint-Emilion novice. We polished off our meal with a nice dessert and bottle of Bandol wine. I found our visit to Saint-Emilion to be a welcome departure from Fort Worth's many steakhouses for special events (birthdays, anniversaries, etc) and we will definitely be back to sample more of their dynamic menu. read more

After visiting France, you find that there's no place quite like it. We moved to Texas about 2 years ago, and we just hadn't had time to find that piece of France here. So for our anniversary, we got a Lyft to Saint-Emilion. Our meal included a cheese platter, Panisse, Escargot, Duck for 2 with Frites, Leeks, and for desert 3 Crepes.... oh and 2 bottles of wine we previously had in France. All of that was less than $200 including tip. You really can't beat that for quality French Cuisine and a nice night out. The atmosphere definitely took me back to France, and made me feel like I was about to walk out the door and stroll the streets of Paris again.
