This location of Yves Saint Laurent is in South Coast Plaza. My boyfriend and I came during Christmas time, so they were really busy. We had a quick wait, and were lucky to be assisted by Jorge. Jorge has such a fun personality. He really listened to my preferences, and showed me items that I was describing. As I gave feedback to refine what I was looking for, he led me to EXACTLY what I was looking for. We even had a sweet moment where he tested to make sure my selfie stick would fit into my new purse. Priorities! I can tell Jorge was very passionate about the brand. He was even showing me different ways I can change the straps to dress up or dress down my purse for different occasions. While we waited for my new purse baby to be wrapped up, Jorge brought us sparkling water to enjoy while we waited. Jorge was also very thorough. He went to the back to get me a new purse and opened it to let me check the quality, stitching, zipper, etc before it was wrapped up. I truly felt like a valued customer with Jorge at YSL. I can't say enough to praise how meaningful he made my shopping experience. I did the store's survey, but wanted to continue to sing his praise with this review. They say you never forget your first time and this sure was the case for my first experience here! I had my eye on a couple purses for a long time and decided to pull the plug and just go for it one day. I requested availability for the medium envelope tri quilt and by the following morning Sarah reached out to let me know they had it in stock. Despite their policy to hold inventory for only 48 hours, she was more than happy to hold it for 4 days as I didn't have an opportunity to come any sooner to the store. I ended up placing another hold for the lou camera bag as well and found myself inside the store that same day to pick them up. If you're a veteran in luxury shopping then you'll know that texting your sales associate and making sure the products are in stock come as second nature for them. After all, they WANT you to purchase them. When I got to the store, I immediately tried them on at one of the floor to ceiling mirrors and made the big purchase! I'm not sure if they still offer refreshments due to the pandemic, but I also didn't care too much if they didn't. Overall, I was very happy with my experience here and Sarah definitely didn't push me too hard by trying to sell other products in the store which I greatly appreciate. She had a very friendly attitude that made you feel like you were best friends for a long time even though you had just met. KIM IS THE ABSOLUTE BEST. Oct '22 my bf and I came in because I wanted to get myself my first designer bag for my 26th birthday. We had looked around other shops before (Gucci, LV, Celine, etc) but personally I felt like the SAs didn't care about helping me. Kim, however, was more than happy to help and answer any questions I had and offered us champagne, water, and snacks! I chose the Cassandra and she brought out different options for me to pick from as well as different wallets to go with it because I had asked about wallets. Needless to say, I bought both the bag and wallet within half an hour of being there lol. We had dinner plans with a friend and afterwards came back so our friend can look at their shirts. While waiting I was looking around and fell in love with the Sac de Jour. I asked Kim about it and she comes out with like three different colors for me haha. And we ended up buying another bag that day. Needless to say, I became obsessed with YSL and have since returned for a mini Lou Lou, a teddy jacket for my bf, a coat, and just from today, a tie, Fanny pack and wallet. Every time we say we're done, Kim does her magic and next thing we know we're signing off our next purchase! She's amazing with building rapport and has been a pleasure to talk to every time we visit. She never skips a beat when it comes to offering us drinks. On top of that she's got such a great eye with sizing!! She can eyeball us and somehow find the right fitting tops on the first try and can always gauge what styles we like. Literally with the lou lou I didn't even think about it but Kim brought it out in it's different colors and oh man did I fall in love. I've always walked past Saint Laurent and it used to not have a lot of people in it, prior to the current situation. Ever since South Coast reopened with social distancing enforced, there have been a higher volume of customers stopping in, sometimes garnering a long line that spills into the corridor between the shops. I was curious to stop in during a quick trip to grab a last minute holiday gift for a friend and stood in line. It is located on the second floor of the main building of South Coast, across from the La Perla and Balenciaga boutiques. There are plenty of parking options from flat lots to structures that one can choose from. The store is one of the smaller boutiques in the mall and the staff were doing the best they could to social distance and limit the number of customers inside. Everyone was wearing a mask inside and all customers were required to wear them too. Once I got inside, I was paired up with a female clerk who asked if I was looking for something in particular. I asked if they had any new or current season skirts in denim, as I loved the style of previous seasons I've seen. (I never pulled the trigger though and regretted missing out on one I found at Last Call years ago.) The gal was kind to check inventory and said there wasn't anything like that at this time. I did browse the shop and found a leather skirt and cropped Le Smoking jacket to try on, and the clerk brought me to their hidden mirrors dressing room. The skirt was way too small, but the jacket looked nice. The underarm area was too snug unfortunately and both pieces did not have stock in larger sizes that I could try on. That is one drawback about the smaller footprint - they do not always have stock in the larger sizes for trying on, but depending on who you work with, they may offer to help check stock for other locations and see if they can order it for you. While my clerk was friendly, I did feel pressured to accept the jacket in the size I tried on if I bought it. When I tried to explain that I felt restrained moving my arms comfortably, she insisted that all of the SL jackets, including the staff uniform ones for ladies and men, have that issue. (Which is due to how they were set into the body of the jacket.) She pointed out that the larger size would lose the purpose of achieving the cropped look intended and that the shoulders on the current one were nearly perfect for my frame, in addition to the sleeve length. While it is true that a larger size would look less cropped on me, it doesn't make a lot of sense to spend thousands on a jacket that doesn't fit perfectly and restricts my range of movement. I did take her card for the future in case I do see something else I may be interested in. But I feel this shop needs to work on offering at least a unit of the larger sizes, as well as educating everyone on how a jacket should fit without making the wearer uncomfortable. read more

Product quality has gone downhill, fast. Bought a YSL purse in Italy 2.5 years ago. The hardware for the purse strap just broke off. When I went to ask about getting it fixed, the response was: I have to pay for it to get fixed because it's past the 2 year warranty mark and that it would also take 4-6 months to have it fixed. A $1500 purse should not need fixing for at least five years - and that's if I throw my bag around like it's nothing. The leather can have wear and tear but the hardware? That stuff should last a lifetime. Mass production without quality control. Never getting a YSL purse again. Only location I've been to, and each time I come in, Xarah is always offering great service. I'm not new to the luxury world and out of all the brands, I think I've received the best customer service when shopping from YSL (which I think says a lot since I'm not a newb and have been collecting for quite some time now). I never feel rushed here and products are never pushed onto me. Xarah is so patient and always offering me drinks, which is always a special treat since I will get napkins/sugar packets with SAINT LAURENT stamped onto them. It truly adds that special touch to your shopping experience! This last time, I was interested in getting something white and Xarah pulled out all the white bags for me lol. She even was quick to pick up on my style and pulled out the small white ones w gold hardware, which is totally my vibe :)) Im also picky when it comes to my purchases and she made sure to get me brand new, untouched ones. When there was none available in store, she offered to look online and have them shipped to me (complimentary!). Came home and saw the baguette brought home had a tiny flaw and Xarah responded in literally a second and already ordered a new one for me for me to exchange with. Cant recommend Xarah enough! I stopped into YSL this afternoon to pick up a scarf I had ordered and placed on hold with Taryn a few weeks ago. I have been looking for this scarf for a while and its been sold out online and I need it for an upcoming trip to Paris. Taryn* was super sweet and extremely helpful and assured me that she would call me as soon as they received the scarf I was looking for. She called a week later and I finally had a chance to pick up the scarf. Its a Saturday so I knew it was going to be busy, and I walked in and looked around for a bit and figured I would just find someone to help me since I had not been approached yet. I stopped one of the associates and asked her if she would be able to get someone for me at her convenience because I knew she was currently helping someone. She got Richard*, who she introduced as the manager (thats the name on my receipt at least). He asked what the item was on hold and I showed him and let him know I was previously assisted by Taryn. He went to the back and after a few minutes returned with a scarf that was not what I had on hold. He said he wasn't sure where the scarf I put on hold was, and proceeded to look at the item number I provided. He found the scarf I had on hold and showed it to me briefly and asked me if that was the scarf I was looking for. He proceeded to ring me up, but really did not seem engaging up until the very end. He asked me what I was going to wear the scarf with and I said I had a couple tops that would look good with it. YSL is a great brand, I have the Kate crossbody and I get compliments all the time. Anything of that would be acceptable to me what made me mad is that none of that was offered but what was offered is to go to an optometrist and ask them to switch the frame like I have not been a customer of Saint Laurent like I have not paid an extra to be a customer of Saint Laurent but to be a regular asking for a regular frame to replace a saint Laurent frame and lenses. Xarah was extremely helpful in my first experience at this store. She took her time assisting me to find what I was looking for online, and she's so nice and patient. A couple days later, I decided to exchange my bag to another one within the return policy. I kept the first one in very good condition and never wear it out since I change my mind. However, Xarah wasn't at the store when I arrived so Syreata helped me to process the whole exchange. As an assistant manager, she seems nice but the funny thing is, she gave me a damaged box without ribbon wrapping around it. It makes me feel I don't deserve the original box that comes with it cause I'm exchanging. One side of the box was heavily piled off. To be honest, getting a damaged box is a very small thing. Specifically I came In today to purchase a wallet for my partner and Rafael was very helpful in my purchase and even gave me suggestions. It was our first time coming here and it did not disappoint. My boyfriend brought me here to buy me a bag and we were both under the impression it was open but unfortunately its not entirely open due to the pandemic going on.
