This fast casual restaurant chain has been on my list for a while. We finally made a stop here today. The menu prices on yelp and their online ordering website are not consistent with the price we were charged at the store. Store pricing was higher, even though it's not a downtown restaurant. The server at the counter was patient as we placed our order. That's the only positive thing in our experience. We saw this chain as a healthier fast food alternative, kind of like Chipotle. However the food price, the quality and flavor of food doesn't match up to Chipotle. Both the falafel bowl and chicken shawarma were quite disappointing. I, personally, felt sick and nauseous as I was eating the meal. I will not come back here again.

My team and I love ordering from SAJJ for team lunch! Always a good choice for a delicious lunch. My goto order is the chicken shawarma rice bowl and it really good and will fill you up.

My workplace is pretty close to Sajj, so my coworkers often come here during their lunch break. Mediterranean food isn't my favorite cuisine, but I decided to tag along one day and I was pleasantly surprised. My coworkers describe this place as a "Mediterranean Chipotle" because it's very customizable and you go down the line, adding in whatever toppings and sauces you desire. For my base I chose half rice and half salad, which was a perfect combination. The only vegetarian protein was falafel, so I went with that. They gave me 4 decently sized balls of falafel that were crunchy on the outside, soft inside, and very flavorful. I got pretty much all of the vegetarian toppings: eggplant, cauliflower, cucumber tomato, beets, pickles, etc. I wasn't sure which sauces to get so I just asked for a little bit of everything: Tzatziki sauce, garlic sauce, tahini, hummus. My favorite toppings were the eggplant ragout and cauliflower. They were so well seasoned and flavorful. Every order comes with a free cup of lentil soup. I personally was not a fan of the lentil soup; it was way too salty for my taste buds. I used the Yelp check-in offer to get some free pita chips, and I really enjoyed those. They were super crunchy and flavorful on their own, but the cashier also gave me a container of hummus to dip them in, which was a nice touch. Service was friendly. The staff knew it was my first time here so they explained what each item was, which I really appreciated. My bowl was $9 + tax. Portion size could have been a bit bigger for the price. I could tell some of my coworkers were still hungry after polishing off their food. Nevertheless I really enjoyed the food here and plan to come back often with my coworkers.

Couldn't believe how much I liked this place. I'll say what everyone else has said. It's Middle Eastern Chipotle. Same restaurant feel, same vibe, same setup, same assembly line, same price point. Had a delicious salad with all kinds of chicken and spices and lentils all over it, for about $12. This place was a really pleasant surprise, and now I wish there was one in my neighborhood.

Sajj is a Mediterranean restaurant that bit Chipotle's style by offering their food in a similar process while designing the menu and layout to give people the Chipotle experience. The food is very tasty, but don't expect there to be spits with meat being carved in front of you. The food tastes authentic, but similar to Chipotle, the proteins (chicken, beef, pork) are in a tray. This means the meat can be a little dry. The few times I've been here, the meat was fine (I have only been there for lunch). Overall, the food is great! The toppings are hearty and savory. Baba ganoush, hummus, feta cheese, tzatziki, etc. If you get all toppings, you'll have a heavy bowl on your hands. This place is a copy cat Chipotle, but its good at that it does. The tamarind drink is wonderful, best I've ever had outside of Mexico.

As much as Mazra is great at/known for their meats, they also put so much thought and care into their vegetables. For example, our favorite mezza is their Whole Cauliflower, which is a massive cauliflower head that's roasted and then coated with a lemon tahini dressing. (They also give you more lemon to squeeze on it.) The cauliflower always comes out perfectly roasted; the inner parts are tender and toothsome, while the outer parts are crispy and a deep, golden brown. Another great vegetable option is their Veggie Plate, which is a plate overflowing with delights on a bed of their rice: falafel; a segment of their cauliflower; roasted broccoli and potatoes; their saffron mushrooms; and a halloumi roll. Each item is about as perfect as can be, and the sheer quantity makes it a fantastic deal. Of course, we still love their shawarma plates, which you can get with either chicken or steak shawarma. The meat comes thinly cut and tender, and somehow still a bit juicy! The plates are also a great value, since they come with a ton of great items that pair well with the meat. These include a rich, savory sauce (toum [garlic sauce] with the chicken, tahini with the steak) and two of their amazing sides. My favorite sides are the baba ghannoush (creamy and earthy) and their fries (golden, crispy, and pillowy). They continue improving the space, too. The pickup window makes it so much easier to get takeout, and they've really dialed in the flow of the inside and back courtyard seating areas.

Onto food: We had a group of 4 and ordered everything family style. - Girit: a garlic and spice whipped cheese with pistachios, great with bread. - Pancar: roasted yellow and red beets with Turkish white cheese. - Uc Borek: 3 phyllo rolls: they're fairly small, so it's hard for more than 3-4 people to share (1 bite each). One is zucchini, one is cheese, and one has beef. Beef was my favorite - Ahtapot: fire grilled octopus with a bean spread. - Ege Salatasi: similar to a Greek salad with tomatoes (so good in summer!), green bell peppers, onions, cucumber, croutons, Turkish white cheese, olives. - Chilean sea bass: loved the Aegean greens with this. The sea bass was so flavorful and was a generous portion. - Alinazik: beef tenderloin skewers with smoked eggplant labneh.
