I actually do not really like eating salad bowls very often but will do so every now and then because of health reasons, convenience, or I wasn't really that hungry. I did a create your own bowl which I appreciate that as an option since I am quite picky with what goes in my salad. The blackened chicken was pretty good. I opted for the spicy cashew dressing and thought it was tasty! Given the amount of salad in the bowl I actually thought I could go for "heavy" dressing next time since I felt like for "medium" it didn't actually coat the entire bowl. Grabbed dinner for takeout on a Sunday evening, and the food station was a mess behind the counter and not well stocked, understandable toward the end of the day, but not ideal. Ordered the ripple fries with garlic aioli and a kale caesar steak salad (no kale, just romaine), and extra pesto vinaigrette dressing on the side. They were out of parmesan crisps, which was a bummer cuz I don't think there's a fair replacement for that here. The ripple fries tasted old and stale and looked to have been sitting in the tray in the display case for a while. I hoped maybe the garlic aioli would save them, but the sauce was surprisingly not very good, a tad too salty and the unique combination of sweet and savory just didn't seem to go well together. Some of the lettuce in my salad was brown at the edges too, still edible, but quite unappetizing. Also, the portion size seemed smaller than what I've gotten at other sweetgreen locations, the salad bowl barely halfway full, yet at a premium cost. Service was strangely slow even with more employees behind the counter than customers in line. I could barely hear the guy making my order so communication was unclear, and he wasn't very helpful, the care and effort was clearly lacking. No bag provided after making my purchase at the register and no instructions on where to find them. As I balanced my food items and sauce containers in my arms, I saw some sitting on a shelf in the dining room, so I helped myself to one. They don't have a lot of tables/seating inside the restaurant, but at least the place was clean and inviting. Parking isn't the easiest in the area, but that's probably not the biggest concern considering the other issues I encountered on my recent visit. My work ordered from this restaurant and it's my first time trying it . A few items were order and this salad caught my eye . The colors of the ingredients, the textures of the crunchies, and wild rice were a hit!! . Before I even tried, I felt like this could salad could satisfy my hunger. He remained professional and patient under extreme pressure, but it was clear he was overwhelmed. Meanwhile, several other employees, including a manager, stayed in the back preparing mobile orders, offering no support to the front where help was urgently needed. This created an unsafe, chaotic environment for both customers and staff. After paying for my order, I noticed I was missing an item and politely approached one of the employees in the back for assistance. Instead of helping, she became immediately loud, aggressive, and confrontational -- waving her hands and moving her head in a disrespectful, hostile manner. I calmly asked her to lower her voice and explained that I was simply trying to advocate for better support for the staff, including herself. Shockingly, the manager present did nothing to intervene -- neither to assist the overwhelmed employee at the front nor to de-escalate the inappropriate behavior of the employee towards a customer. Management's inaction was deeply disappointing and unprofessional. As a long-time customer, I find it unacceptable that such an environment is allowed to persist. It reflects poorly on Sweetgreen's values and on how both employees and customers are treated. I am writing to formally report a highly disappointing experience at the Sweetgreen Palo Alto location on Sunday, January 26. The service I received from an employee named Sophia was unacceptable and left me feeling extremely uncomfortable. I placed a mobile order for a modified Chicken Pesto Parm bowl, substituting chicken with tofu and removing parmesan cheese. Upon arriving at the store, my order was not ready, even though it was 10 minutes past the promised pickup time. The restaurant was not busy--there were no other customers present when I arrived--so it was unclear why my order was delayed. When I finally received the bowl, it was completely incorrect, containing chicken, white rice, and the wrong dressing. When I politely addressed the issue, Sophia abruptly snatched the bowl from my hands before I could explain the mistake and remade it without acknowledging my concerns. Her attitude was dismissive, and she repeatedly questioned me in a condescending manner. As I began eating my remade bowl, I overheard Sophia loudly speaking rudely about me to her coworkers, calling me "annoying" and discussing the situation as if I wasn't there. I believe she assumed I had left, but I was sitting in the restaurant, trying to enjoy my meal. Hearing her speak about me so disrespectfully made me completely lose my appetite. I felt humiliated and left without finishing my meal. After hearing her speak negatively about me, I went up to ask for her name. She responded, "Sophia, and my manager is right here if you want to talk to her." I had never asked for a manager--I only wanted her name. Later, as I was gathering my belongings to leave, a male employee approached me to apologize for her behavior and asked how he could better understand the situation. During our conversation, he mentioned that the actual manager was not present and was on the way. This directly contradicted what Sophia had told me, making it seem as though she had lied about a manager being present. This experience was a complete waste of my time, gas, money, and energy. I drove a significant distance to Sweetgreen to enjoy a meal I was craving, only to be met with poor service, disrespect, a delayed and incorrect order, and a loss of appetite. I left without being able to enjoy my meal, and the entire experience was frustrating and disheartening. I would appreciate a formal response addressing this matter and steps Sweetgreen will take to ensure better customer service standards moving forward. read more

He was violently ill, vomiting for over 4 hours, and became so dehydrated that he had to go to the ER, where he was given an IV. The salads are very fresh and the environment is clean, however, the service varies from time to time, sometimes the employees can be really irritated for some reason and give a lot less, but sometimes they're very nice and give more! 3.5 Recently started getting Sweetgreen a few months back and I think it's solid. This location has been my only experience with Sweetgreen and my family exclusively orders takeout from here. We enjoy it enough that it's entered our rotation of weekday takeout dinners. I'm a fan of their salads, the portion sizes of which are large and definitely enough to make for a filling dinner. My favorite is probably the Buffalo chicken salad (love that blackened chicken), but the hummus crunch is also a great option (creamy hummus for the win). Their bowls are filling, too, but they're just okay. I like the consistency of the salads better. My chicken avocado ranch bowl from tonight was a tad too salty, but maybe that's my fault for getting the za'atar bread crumbs with the already salty blackened chicken. Ordering online can be a toss-up: sometimes you can't select if you want the dressing mixed in, they forget to add things to your order, and the wait for pickup can be longer on certain days, especially on Fridays. An hour later, I received another order from this store. I waited for another 20 minutes. This lady kept adding sauce and didn't take any action on my order. I asked her again how long it would take, and she said she would do it. Then she started asking for the names of other people's orders and finished those orders (those people came later than me, and some of them were also dashers). My order still wasn't ready. I felt that maybe because I'm Asian, she discriminated against me based on my race. So I never got the order. To avoid affecting the customer's meal, I had to cancel the order again and let another dasher pick it up. The service of this store is very bad and it has racial discrimination. Their store door was open 30 minutes prior to the actual opening time and they allowed me to use their restroom. (I didn't know they were closed at that time as their door was open). I left shortly in an uber after and I returned immediately to the store 15 minutes later after I realized I had left my Adderall medication that I just picked up from CVS. They were still not open yet by then and there were no customers in the store, only staff. I asked about my medication and looked everywhere but it was gone. I asked the guy in the front but he rudely dismissed me and didn't try to help. This is the only place I went after picking up my medication , and it has only been 15 minutes since I left the store. The store was full of staff and I asked him to ask the other staff if anyone has seen it. He finally turned back and asked the other employees, to which they all said no. I went to the bathroom to check again and when I came back to the front area, I saw two employees whispering then looking at me. I don't want to accuse any one of anything but it didn't make sense that my medication just vanished, and I wish the staff was more helpful in trying to help me locate it as I need my medication for work and I've been going through withdrawals without it. read more

I placed the order and my salad was ready within 10 mins (faster than expected too) To be completely honest, I ordered kale + spring mix but ended up getting lettuce + spring mix instead. However, since I ordered online with their mobile app I was able to give feedback on the order mixup, and got a super fast response from their customer service (who also gave me account credit for future orders!) Sweetgreen is a tad expensive for what you get, but I always love getting it. I typically get the custom salad with only ingredients that come with the base price ($8.50) to save money. However, for the salads I get here, I can make them at home for much cheaper. Though, I do think their ingredients usually taste much more fresh than when I make my own salads. Unfortunately, today the quality of their ingredients weren't as good as they usually are. Specifically, the apples had an extremely mushy texture. Additionally, I thought it was weird that they gave me half a lime in my bowl rather than squeezing it for me like they usually do. If you don't mind spending money, I highly suggest getting the "fish taco" salad or their "chicken pesto parm" salad. Both are so flavorful and tasty and you don't feel guilty ordering an expensive salad because it's not as easily recreate-able at home. Dressings: - Pesto (4.5/5): super savory.
