Came for lunch during the weekday and it wasn't crowded. Ordered the Plate with Grilled seabass with seasonal veggies and farro salad and the Grilled seabass salad (changed from salmon). The sea bass portion on the plate is thin and tiny. It's expensive for such a small piece of fish. There is also no flavor at all and doesn't taste good, very disappointing. Both side dishes are pretty good. I'd say the sides are way better than the sea bass. The portion of the siad dishes is bigger than the size of the sea bass. Gave an extra star because of the side dishes. The fish on the salad is also not good. The salad itself is ok. I was walking around the Stanford Shopping Center and worked up an appetite. The restaurant's exterior looked really inviting, and inside, the space was simple, bright, and clean. The staff were friendly. I ordered the country fried chicken, the steak, and Agua Fresca at the register. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the atmosphere. The steak was pretty chewy and dry, and the country fried chicken was incredibly salty. While the sides were decent and the Agua Fresca was really tasty and refreshing, I'd probably only come back for a drink next time, not a full meal. read more

First time trying tender greens! I wanted to go for the salmon, but I went for the chicken Katsu bowl. The rice and the chicken are amazing, the greens on the side are very tasty. I like the sauce, although I would like more of a spicy sauce. I also don't know about the pickles. I felt like it didn't go with the bowl but overall, I highly recommend it. Yumm. Stumbled in here hungry after a long afternoon of shopping. Ordering was super easy, you just walk up to the counter and they bring your food out to you. I love the patio area too especially when it's nice out. I got the chipotle bbq chicken bowl not expecting much. But the chicken had this really nice smoky flavor and it was juicy. I loved the slaw and corn that it came with, all of the ingredients tasted fresh. The seeds and nuts gave it a nice crunch and I surprisingly really liked the brown rice too! -1 star, the chicken portion felt a bit small considering the price, however, I would definitely stop back in for lunch again on a shopping day. read more

I usually like to sit outside for this, unless it's cold out, to which they do not have any space heaters. My usual order is the California bowl with grilled salmon which has roasted corn salsa, cilantro lime brown rice, cabbage slaw, queso fresco, pepitas, and lime crema. Is it the most filling? Not really. Is it a bit healthier and cheaper than eating fast food or other restaurants in Stanford? I'd say so! I've gotten this many many times, and it has only been "off" tasting, maybe once? So for the most part it tastes pretty consistent and standard. My husband likes to get the steak plate and it's pretty solid as well, though portions are also a bit small. You first line up and order at the counter, and then it's free seating from there. It's the kind of place where you have to grab your own utensils, but they do serve you the food directly to your table which is nice. read more

Was having lunch with friends and they suggested eating here since there was both indoor and outdoor seating. This was my first time here. We wanted to catch up and not feel rushed while eating. We choose to sit outside since it was a nice day. You stand in line first to place your order and then you get a number stand and the staff will bring you your food to the table. I ordered the Cali bowl with Chipotle BBQ chicken and an agua fresca (which was Watermelon). Food came out really quick and it looked very nicely prepared and presented. The food wasn't horrible, it tasted fine but it was a little dry overall and the chicken did not taste like chipotle. I did enjoy the corn. Maybe its just my personal preference but I like my bowls more "saucy". I think if I come back I would order something else just to see if there is something else better suited for my tastes or make substitutions if allowed to the bowl. Service was great. I came here with my mom for lunch today, and neither of us were able to eat our meals. We both ordered the harvest salad, and the greens were so bitter with the strongest chemical taste - it was obvious they were unwashed. I substituted the chicken for hard boiled eggs in my salad due to my allergies. The salad was delivered with my allergens and they only gave one egg as a substitute. Especially the take out, they give you two dressing containers and that takes up most of the space and means they will give you less sides and greens to accommodate those giant sauce cups. We ordered 3 dishes which means we should get 3 slices of bread. But we got 4 much smaller slices instead, which sadly means more crust and overall it was still less bread than if we got 3 regular sized slices. It's such a cute and efficient place. Four of us came in and ordered right away. People gave us a number for our order and brought food to us. Water, utensils, and napkins are self-serving. Tender greens is my favorite salad place! I could literally eat their chipotle bbq chicken salad and tuna niçoise salad everyday! All the flavors and ingredients just meld together so well, and I love how their dressing isn't overpowering like other salad places. I also love how their salads come with a lot of toppings and not just greens :D My only gripe is that they recently started cutting up their chicken into pieces for the salad rather than leaving it in large pieces. I'm not sure if this is a recent change at all tender greens or just this location, but I much prefer the big pieces and being able to cut up the meat myself! Overall, the salad is still great though. This weekend, we also got a fried chicken plate since they were advertising a new recipe. I thought the chicken had a nice crunch and was seasoned well, but I would have enjoyed some kind of sauce or aioli on the since to go with the chicken, since it can get a bit one note.
