The vibe feels just like Tokyo to me. It's exactly what the Richmond needs--a cool place of our own.

Cool bar with bites in the Mission District. We got there shortly after it opened at 4pm on Friday…read moreafternoon. I was craving a refreshing craft cocktail and got one with the Green Emmanuelle. I liked the cardamom in the Beauty Mark as well that my partner ordered. We ordered shishito peppers and mushroom bahn mi sliders. The mushroom bahn mi sliders were amazing - the quality fillings and taste of the soft bun - I was unexpectedly hit with a bite of spice from maybe jalapeño seeds left but didn't sour my experience. The shishito peppers ended up being extremely spicy as well, those are usually just a few spicy and not the majority. The roasted lemon and salt was a wonderful combo but just too spicy to eat. However, the server very kindly removed it from our bill without us asking. We order the crostini because we were still hungry and that was an absolute hit. Delicious med-soft crostini with luscious berries and sweet honey. I didn't care my hands got sticky as it was soooo good! Great experience, I would be weary if the peppers as I'm a bit spice-intolerant but everything else was spot-on.

I definitely prefer this version to the more traditional version that just adds water. 4.5/5: Pigs in a Blanket $15. The puff pastry is very buttery, and the sausage is higher-end.

A Little Slice of Vacation in the Heart of the City…read more Long Weekend is exactly what it promises a laid-back, sun-drenched escape tucked right into the buzz of North Beach. From the moment I stepped in, I felt like I was on a mini getaway. The space is effortlessly cool, with coastal-chic vibes, pops of color, and a playlist that makes you want to stay for hours. The drinks are where the magic really happens. I tried the "Golden Hour" cocktail (highly recommend!) bright, citrusy, and dangerously easy to sip. Their menu is playful but thoughtful, with creative twists that still feel approachable. It's the kind of place where you can try something new and know it's going to be good. The staff was warm, welcoming, and clearly passionate about what they do. They took the time to walk us through the menu, offered great recommendations, and made us feel like regulars even though it was our first visit. Whether you're kicking off a night out or just want to unwind with friends in a beautiful space, Long Weekend delivers. It's got that rare mix of style, soul, and substance and I can't wait to come back.

The DJ upstairs was playing a great mix of Latin and hip-hop music, while downstairs had old-school reggaeton, which I absolutely loved. It was a little warm downstairs, so I decided to stay upstairs for most of the night. I also appreciated that there was seating available upstairs because the main floor was extremely packed. Overall, I was having a great time until it came time to order my second drink. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the bartender's name, but he was wearing glasses and had a sleeve tattoo on one arm. My first order was quick and easy, so I didn't think much of it. However, when I went back for a second drink, I ended up waiting about 15 minutes at the bar. What was frustrating was that the bartender clearly saw me waiting, yet repeatedly served men who walked up after me. Another woman who was also waiting noticed what was happening and actually spoke up, saying, "She's been waiting here first, and so have I," after he immediately was trying to serve the guy next to us. The bartender looked at her, dismissed the comment, and continued serving other men who had arrived after both of us. As a former bartender myself, I was taught to scan the bar and serve guests in the order they arrive whenever possible. The way the situation was handled felt dismissive and unprofessional. What bothered me most wasn't the wait itself, it was feeling overlooked despite being visibly next in line. That said, I genuinely enjoyed everything else about Long Weekend. The music, atmosphere, and overall energy were great, and I don't plan on letting this one experience keep me from coming back. I'll definitely give it another shot. I'll just be ordering from a different bartender next time.

Good drinks and snacks, seating is limited so might need to wait a while or opt for the outdoor standing section on weekend nights. Firepit couches are nice if you are able to grab one! Would be a good stop to kick off the night but not really close to a lot of other great cocktail bars in walking distance since this area is kind of dead except for Giants game days.

Unfortunately, our experience started off on the wrong foot before we even made it upstairs. When we arrived, the doorman, a tall, heavyset gentleman, was eating and did not acknowledge us as we approached. I politely asked if the restaurant was open, and instead of simply answering the question, he responded that it wasn't a restaurant but a rooftop bar, adding, "I don't know where you got that misconception." I found the comment unnecessarily dismissive and somewhat condescending. As an educated woman visiting with my husband and our minor daughter, I felt there were more professional ways to clarify the venue's concept. Rather than engage further, I chose to ignore the remark. He then pointed us toward the line, despite there being no one else waiting, and pressed the elevator button with an attitude that made us feel like we were inconveniencing him simply by being there. First impressions matter, and unfortunately this interaction left us feeling unwelcome before we even had the opportunity to experience the venue itself. Hospitality begins at the door, and I hope management provides additional customer service training to ensure future guests are greeted with courtesy and respect.
