We went to Cilantro last night, a restaurant we normally enjoy because the food is consistently good. Unfortunately, the service this time was so rude and unprofessional that it ruined the entire experience. From the moment our waitress approached the table, she appeared irritated and impatient. When ordering drinks, my husband asked for an unsweet tea (the raspberry-style tea they serve). I asked for the same tea with sugar packets. She insisted it was "Thai tea," and I corrected her--multiple times--clearly stating that I did not want Thai tea, just unsweet tea with sugar. Despite this, she brought me a Thai tea, a $6 drink and with ice $7, which I did not order. Before I could correct it, she rushed away. The tea happened to be good, so I let it go rather than make a scene--something I now regret. When she delivered our appetizer, she dropped it on the table without a word. No explanation, no courtesy, no acknowledgment. The same thing happened when she brought our entrées--food was placed down silently and abruptly, as if we were an inconvenience rather than paying customers. When my husband ran out of tea, she finally returned and said, "Oh, would you like tea?" Then immediately asked if we wanted our food, clearly rushing us. Meanwhile, the cleanup crew repeatedly tried to take our plates while we were still eating, creating an uncomfortable and hurried atmosphere. The worst moment came at checkout. I handed her my debit card, completed the transaction, and still left a very good tip, even though the service was poor. She looked at the screen and said, "This is for the tip?" I confirmed it was. She then yanked the payment machine out of my hand, pulled the card out, and threw it on the table. That behavior is completely unacceptable under any circumstances. I stood up to address the situation, but my husband encouraged me to leave instead. I have never been treated with such open disrespect by a server. The food may be good, but no meal is worth being treated this way. Management seriously needs to address this level of hostility and lack of professionalism. read more

One of my favorite sushi spots in Miami. Sometimes I'll go here after a good gym sesh since it's in the same plaza as Crunch, and I'm always happy with their sushi quality. The staff there are always nice and attentive! I love the atmosphere; it's always calm, clean, and homey! read more

Really impressed with the quality of the sushi here! The rolls were fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. You can tell they use good ingredients -- everything tasted clean and balanced. I was taken to lunch here as a belated birthday gift. Parking in the lot out front was at a premium as there are half a dozen other restaurants nearby. My friend had to park down by Winn Dixie and walk over. They have very reasonable lunch specials and we both chose to have one of them. The specials come with miso soup and a spring roll. We upgraded to a house salad instead of the soup. The salad had a choice of peanut or ginger dressing. The dressing was quite good -- served on the side. The fried veggie spring roll came with a sweet dipping sauce (honey based?). I got their shrimp with cashew nut sauce as our main entree. She got the chicken with the same sauce. There was jasmine rice on the plate. The meal had veggies (I got no onions; she got no peppers) like lotus root (not usually seen), carrots, and scallions. And a number of whole cashew nuts, as well. It was good. As it was a "celebration, we splurged and got the white Russian cake to share. This was decadent with whipped cream and a white chocolate mousse and chocolate cake in a layered dessert. In Hallandale Beach the four of us stopped by Cilantro for a Sushi dinner. This looks to be a bit of an upscale restaurant. There's a sitting area right at the front of the establishment. We probably should have sat outside as it was a bit cold inside. It's not a bad idea to have a light jacket with you when dining inside. We sat at the bar. I first got their Lychee Martini, ohh it was excellent, lightly sweet and so indulgent! We decided to get the sushi boat. It's essentially like a buffet, that's right in front of you. No need to wait between orders. This was very fresh sushi, with not a lot of rice. There was sashimi, sushi, with all kinds of fish. This massive boat was the perfect size for the four of us. We even had strangers ask if they could take a picture of our boat. We also got Miso soup, it was included with the purchase of the boat. The soup was very comforting with how cold it was inside. I was craving sushi while in Hallandale beach, so based on the positive reviews I stopped by at Cilantro. First impression was ok. The food came out quickly but I was disappointed at the rolls because the tasty and smell were way too fishy, and didn't taste fresh at all. Second it's a bit pricey for the small portions you get especially if you order soups. The servers were friendly thought. We stopped by around 2pm and the place was empty. Came in for the first time to this location on a chilly Saturday night for dinner. We were in the area and I remembered how much I liked the Davie location so I decided to also check them out. The restaurant is more open concept and has a lot of space for big groups. I didn't have to wait when we came in. We were greeted and quickly taken to our table. Our server was attentive and gave us recommendations. For cocktails I had a lychee martini which was perfectly done. For starters we had the baby octopus which was spicy tender and fresh. We also had the fried ribs , I love the fried crispy garlic chips on top and the ribs where so flavorful. For main we had the pineapple seafood fried rice which was very tasty and perfect to share. We also the the Cilantro signature seafood combo which was mix seafood with broccoli veggies stir fried and a side of white rice. It was so tasty as well and enough to share as well. Had the best experience here dining with my children and my husband. The moment you walk in you are greeted and seated almost immediately. The food is very tasty.. the portions are huge.. we are a family of 4 and we were all able to enjoy a few dishes with enough for left overs.. this establishment has a nice ambiance. There is music playing in the background loud of enough for you to hear it, but low enough to have a conversation.. this restaurant also has a bar where they can make cocktails and other drinks. They have a great lunch menu that includes a soup and an egg roll for about $ 12-14...extremely affordable. I had the chicken teriyaki meal that came with vegetables and jasmine rice. It was delicious. The soup was divide and the egg roll also had great taste. You get a lot of money for a really good price.
