Murg Sakoon house version made with chicken, mouth watering. Bhuna Gosht made with goat, so tender and Saag Paneer with naan . It was a feast. This was for take out. We booked their banquet hall to host wedding & reception. It was for ~75 people. We booked the Golden Hall. We decided to go with their in house decorator - Norma. The decorations were done as per our request. They were ready exactly on time. Food served was extremely flavorful and tasty. All our guests really enjoyed the arrangements. ***So now coming to the One Star story*** We had requested audio system to be a available in the banquet hall, had paid for the same and it was written in our contract. As our reception was about to begin, the DJ from the diamond hall (which is adjacent to the golden hall) enters and takes away the audio system connector. We have a couple dance, sangeet and DJ to follow in our reception but Norma our decorator tells our parents curtly that they haven't paid for the Audio System. THIS IS REALLY UNACCEPTABLE AND IRRESPONSIBLE BEHAVIOR ON PART OF SAKOON. Norma did adjust the DJ charges and gave us concessions for decor to makeup for the damage done, but is it really compensation when you deny someone to party in their own wedding. read more

This is my favorite place for a relaxing lunch with my coworkers! This place takes reservations and us great for groups. My group was about 11 people and there was no problem making a reservation. Service here is spectacular. The waiters are nice and attentive. They refill water and take away plates regularly as well as refill your naan bread if you ask. The lunch buffet itself also has a large selection for a little less than $13 My favorites: -Butter Chicken -Naan -Jeera Rice -Mixed Veg Takari -Rice Pudding -Pineapple Soda No complaints. We decided to give Sakoon franchise a second chance, having had a horric experience at their Santa Clara location. We ordered off the Ala carte menu and to our surprise it was decent. We came here to see the venue for our Cisco Diwali event. And the General manager, Sunny of the place gave us lunch on the house. He also showed us around and was very attentive & informative which was was really nice. So i got the usual Butter Chicken with Naan which was realllly good. I recently visited this place. This was not my first visit, I have been here plenty of times. First visit post COVId. The restaurant was surprisingly empty on Friday evening. We ordered appetizers and few entrees, appetizers were fine and quantities have changed. Entrees (kofta and paneer Peshawari) felt very stale. Kofta was difficult to break and the curry in kofta was same as tomato soup. Did not expect this from Sakoon, $150 down the drain. The food taste pretty good overall, but I was disappointed in the dum biryanis we ordered. They were both mushy, which is the complete opposite of what usually goes wrong with biryani. The manager was nice enough to make up for it and gave us another dum biryani made to order on the house. I was also disappointed that they serve pina colada drinks, but no alcohol, but on the house, they tried to make one for me for the first time ever and had me try it. I used to really enjoy this place but Mother's Day was an absolute disaster. They did not take reservations so my family of 6 came in earlier around 7:30pm. The restaurant was empty when we got there, around three other tables occupied. We got seated and waited for our menus. The wait continued for about another 5 minutes until finally a server came over. We have been here many times, so it didn't take us that long to figure out what we wanted. After waiting about 10 minutes, I started getting a little annoyed that no one has come to take our order. We waited some more and saw another Caucasian couple get seated. They were given their menus in less than minute and even got their ordered put in less than 5 minutes. I see this happen at Indian restaurants all the time which is pretty sad since it honestly should be first come first serve and not based on race but that's another story. I tried to now track down someone to take our order, by that time it for sure was more than 20 minutes of just sitting there. We finally got ahold of the server and he took our order. He honestly looked over worked and just grumpy. We ordered the tandoori chicken, aloo tikki, chole pindi, dal tadka, and garlic naan. When we got our apps, the tandoori chicken was missing some lemon wedges and the aloo tikki was just served with no chutneys. These are simple condiments that go with these dishes so was a little weird when we didn't receive them in the first place. Now comes the fun part, let me again try to flag another person down to get these things. Took forever but finally got the server to bring both. I felt bad asking him for things over and over again but I had no choice. As our main course finally came, we never got actual plates. We just ended up eating in our appetizer plates since finding another person to serve us those would have just taken way too long. At this point the couple that were seated way after us had already paid and gone. We finished and just kept waiting some more for our bill to arrive. Finally after waiting for more than 20 minutes, we tried to flag a ton of people to get a check and just kept getting the run around. I literally asked one host like three times for it and still nothing. I honestly felt like just leaving at this point. It did looked like they were understaffed but the restaurant is really not that large to have a ton of issue. I worked at a restaurant before so I know the three-four tables they had open shouldn't have been that bad. Overall, Sakoon is not a bad place to eat but the service really needs to improve. read more

Came here last weekend for a family lunch to try out what sakoon has to offer. The interior of this restaurant is very nice with lots of chandeliers and a nice layout. Thankfully the day we went we were promptly seated & then had a chance to go check out the buffet. We had many different things my favorite being: * goat curry - this was a nice curry with lots of flavor *butter chicken - hearty and creamy - hitting home * saag - this is a dish made with spinach which was very enjoyable Overall there were lots of options, even cool appetizers like kebabs and tandoori chicken. For dessert I had Kheer which I enjoyed very much. * the only negative was that there wasn't enough food and the food wasn't getting refilled fast enough. TL;DR : Great restaurant, great food, great management. Beware of the DJ ! We organized a birthday party for our kids at Sakoon's party hall, this weekend, that went extremely well. The food was great. We had requested for a vegetarian menu. The management was very cooperative and helped us to customize one of the dishes as some of our guests did not prefer one of the vegetable dishes made of aubergines. All the dishes including starters were very fresh, hot and very tasteful. All our guests greatly appreciated the food. The halls were clean and well air-conditioned. The chairs and tables were very well arranged with clean tablecloths and napkins. Waiters and service were great ! At any given point of time, we always had two to three waiters ready to serve the guests. We were more than happy to tip them after the party. Above all Mrs. Diya from the management was checking on the party, every hour and ensured that we faced no problems. Both the manager Mrs. Diya and the owner Mr. Balkar were great. The only problem we faced was the call after a day of the party, from their contracted DJ - Mandeep who wanted to check why we had not paid for the Audio Visual (AV) equipment. We had to clarify to him that we had struck-out the usage of AV equipment beforehand from our party-contract and had never used it. Had to explain it to Mandeep, over a couple of minutes that he should check on the contract and with the staff before calling us. Honestly super annoyed with the service we got last night. We were a big group so they gave us a mini hall. It was cute and perfect for the amount of people we had. Loved the ambiance. I read how there is a mountain view location but I've never been so I can't compare .. Basically we weren't sure how much food to order for everyone and they being people who work at a restaurant should have given us their recommendation or opinions .. That didn't happen. The end of the table was left waiting for naan for over 15 mins even tho the main dishes were out for about 15 mins .... And then when the Naans did come out they started at the beginning again. (I'm more annoyed bc I as part of the group who was left waiting) Finally When we did get the naan they main dishes were cold but I was so hungry so I chowed it down.
