Do not go here. Just don't. As soon as we walked in we were assaulted with the smell I thought one might only find in an uncleaned fish tank. I glanced at my fiance, considering walking out right then and there. He continued walking and so we went inside. There was plenty of variety in the buffet, but everything was terrible. Of the maybe 10 different dishes I tried 2 of them were edible and we both left with slightly upset stomachs. This place really isn't THAT cheap to eat at, but their food sure is cheap. I'm not very picky with seafood quality, I eat frozen stuff all the time. The food here was just terrible though, even below my standards. Don't waste your money. Tried this place for the first time tonight. I didn't care for it at all. Many of the food items were greasy tasting. There was a can of whipped cream sitting out on the counter next to the hot food, last time I checked that stuff was supposed to be refrigerated. When we were leaving I noticed they had a B grade. Had I noticed that before I wouldn't have eaten there, knowing it takes a lot before a grade will be dropped. Overall I would have enjoyed getting some takeout from panda express much better. read more

My sister treated me to lunch yesterday and she brought me to Sakura. It was my first time eating there. I thought the food was very good! The service was great and the price was decent. You have a lot of choices of different types of food ,such as Chinese, Japanese, American and more. Sakura also has different non cooked meats of your choosing and you get to tell the Chef (who cooks the food right in front of you) how you want the meat cooked. They also have many desserts and fruits to choose from too. I left with a full happy tummy. I recommend this place for sure. read more

My family likes to eat at this buffet for lunch before 3pm. My families favorite is the salted shrimp and fried crab, tasty and well seasoned. They have lots to choose from ...salads , soups, sushi, etc. The service has improved too , looks like they hired lot of new staff. Well I enjoyed everything I had for lunch. It was hot and well seasoned. However when the person I was having lunch with brought back the orange chicken it was barely cooked to the point of blood actually came out. This buffet is going down hill fast.....they now took away some sauses and now the food doesnt taste the same....and they no longer tosts the bread....its soggy like they sprayed it with a spray bottle....and they expect tips for everything....and they give u a dirty look when u dont give them a large tip....the cook and the make your own plate area is rude...if i were you i would just go to the habatchi grille in palmdale....they have way better food and they dont remove items from the counters and give u attitude about it when u ask....i will no longer come here and i suggest u do the same...very dissappointed... read more

I found a clothing price tag fastener in the mushroom chicken tray. The employee tried to hide it when I showed it and take the plate. Employees didn't want to do anything about it. I've gone to this restaurant many times over the years, starting when it was Super King Buffet. It's changed a lot over time, which I suspect is the reason for the mixed reviews. At it's worst, some of the food has been bad and I've gotten sick a few times. Difficult to avoid in a crowded buffet during flu season. But most of the time the food has been good and I went home with a full stomach and happy taste buds. That said, some of their dishes are better than others. The Mongolian Barbeque is usually a good bet because you can pick the ingredients and the sauce and have it cooked the way you want. I also enjoy their sushi and sashimi. (Note: I have never gotten sick after eating either. The more popular dishes attract more people and more germs). They have real wasabi, not that green mustard and horseradish crap other places use. The crab and shrimp are good too. Now I love chicken and mushrooms, but it's hit and miss. I had some about four months ago that tasted bad, probably because it had been left out too long. Tonight I got to the buffet right as they were pouring a new batch of it and it was absolutely delicious. The beef and broccoli and orange chicken are usually good too. I love their dum sum (meat buns) when they have it and their potstickers and cheese wontons are favorites of mine. I even like the tiny egg rolls they make. They do have some western dishes too, but the pizza is no good. My son always gets it, but never eats it. I tried a piece today and found out why. Bleh. Well, you don't go to a Japanese restaurant for pizza. They do have good potato wedges and garlic bread though, and my kids all love their "chicken on a stick". They also have lots of fresh fruit, jello, and a salad bar. Sometimes they have roast chicken or roast beef and it's usually decent. For dessert there are fried biscuits, ice cream, cakes, and cookies. Sometimes the cookies are a little hard, but they're good with ice cream and I love the fried biscuits more than anything. They also give you fortune cookies when they bring the check. They're just like any other fortune cookie. I happen to like their sweetness, but others dislike how brittle they are. Overall, I'd say it's a good value if you know what to pick and how to avoid the crowds. You'll want to arrive around 4pm or so to avoid the dinner crowd, sit near the edge of the room, and pick things that have been freshly made rather than sitting for awhile. The dining room isn't too fancy, but it's better than a fast food restaurant and if you go early you'll avoid the noise, get better quality food, and more selection. read more

My wife and I go to Sakura fairly often. The food is pretty good; we usually go there on Friday's for the crab. However, there are a few minor things that keep it from being so much better than it is. 1. If you are going to serve ham, serve a ham not a chopped and formed oval thing that can be (and probably was) purchased at at local store. 2. The squeeze bottle of plain wrap chocolate sauce next to the ice cream needs to go. If you can't spend the $20 for the metal pump dispenser that can be purchased at Smart and Final, at least buy a quality name brand... but really, spend the $20. Somehow, even the plain wrap stuff will taste better. 3. The staff starts to clean the restaurant about 30 minutes before they close... vacuuming, removing condiments from the tables (even those that are occupied) and quite often the staff takes over one side of the restaurant and starts to eat their dinner; meanwhile some of the food trays are empty because the staff took it all or nobody is available to cook or distribute the food. 4. I know it has nothing to do with the food, but the hand written rainbow colored signs that are located at various places are hard to read and once again make it look cheap. A color printer isn't that expensive; really most of your signs could even be black and white.... even less expensive. read more

Every time I go to this place I get sick and find things in my food. The orange chicken was very undercooked and pink and bleeding, and there was dirt/sand grits in the broccoli I was solo disappointed and cost us $30... And last but not least there was a little hair in my food like a nose hair ughhhh I can't ... I was so disgusted I ate what I could of other things and left promising myself I'd never go back. I have to say, recently they revamped their customer service, my waiter was en pointe. I did not feel rushed or was given any problems since my last visit about two years ago, which ended quite horribly. Its nice to see a couple new items, they have a nice take on potato salad. Food was largely tasteless and most of it was dried out like it had been sitting for too long. The floor under our table was really gross, with lots of food debris from previous guests. There were rude signs up in the dining room, like one that warned customers that the ice cream bars were not for takeout and if you wanted to take one out they would charge you $0.50. I didn't even want to take one out, but if the sign was just rude. When you pay $35 for two people to eat dinner, you don't expect to be confronted with signs demanding another $0.50 and treating you basically like a criminal. I didn't enjoy my dinner at all at this place, and neither did my dining companion who I was with. I would give the restaurant zero stars if the app would let me. read more
