Tried to order take-out, ordered beforehand... they didn't even make my order until I asked about it... had to wait another 20min.

Perfect compliment to the day eating my favorite food Sushi. Now I have to take the opportunity as hubby doesn't like it so when we travel no sushi restaurants. Lucky for me and Mom Izumi is the best at sea! So we start with the classics a nice Japanese beer and edamame it was a generous serving with just the right amount of salt. Pork dumplings, and tempura vegetables were terrific for everything else I got adventurous so I said bring me what you do best. That is when they brought everything and alot of it. The chicken dish was exceptional. I ended with a sweet dessert a sesame ball with a sweet dark paste inside it was delicious. If I could I would eat here every day. From the warm greeting of the maitre d who addresses every guest by name. Very nice touch to the intimate setting and the fellow guests most seemed to be here for all their meals. I don't blame them as it was fantastic.

My wife was on a lounge chair about 11ish and I decided to join her after a few screwdrivers made with Titos Vodka. Long Story short, I konked out on the chair! Not to worry, I don't burn. My Italian-Greek skin only gets like skin colored mocha. Sing it! Once I woke up, I was craving a Sapporo and a nice roll. Enter Izumi. We walk in and we're told, sorry we're closed. Oh man, really? Ok.. Come in. We'll accommodate you. That folks, is excellent customer service *Royal Caribbean, are you reading this?? I ordered a funky roll and my wife ordered a nice salad topped with poached lobster and other shaved fish items that she quietly passed to me. An amazing lunch and I thank you for allowing us to dine at Izumi.

First, the location has parking, and it's a little cozy and quaint inside. It's not set up for a large group to eat in but, for a person or two there's a small table. They offer a variety of sushi, poke bowls, mochi and other Japanese snacks , etc. The staff is cordial and are kind. The menu was reasonably priced . I bought four rolls ( two of which were specialty rolls)and it came out to $29! That's a great price . I only waited about 7-8 mins and my rolls came out fast and beautifully prepared . The yellowtail scallion roll wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be . Didn't have any kick to it and you barely tasted the scallion. The yellowtail with avocado was so smooth and melted in your mouth. The calamari tempura roll was crunchy and tasted fresh. The sauce gave it a sweet taste to it which was nice. The best out of the four was definitely the shrimp tempura lover roll. OMG it was the most delicious thing i've ever tried. The shrimp, the crab, the avocado, and the sauce poured on top was absolutely divine. It was sweet, tangy and melted on the first bite . I will recommend this to anyone who is a sushi lover and wants an authentic sushi experience . Please give them a try

A Decade of Love on a Plate: A Local Favorite That Punches Above Its Weight…read more This place is the definition of a neighborhood gem--the kind you almost want to keep secret, yet can't stop yourself from praising. Cheap and cheerful on the surface, it punches way above its weight class, delivering inventive, clean, Asian-inspired food that's masterfully cooked by clearly skilled hands--and made with real love. I've been coming back year after year for most of this restaurant's 10-year lifespan, and that consistency is no accident. Every dish tastes intentional, thoughtful, and deeply satisfying, with a clear goal: to feed people love on a plate. It's a super veggie/vegan friendly that easily wins over even my "meat and potatoes" husband--who happily cleans his plate every time. In an era where genuine hospitality feels increasingly rare, Perry single-handedly restored my faith that quality service is not extinct. Warm, attentive, and authentically kind, Perry makes every guest feel seen, welcome, and cared for--without pretense or attitude. This is food that nourishes, service that uplifts, and a place that keeps you coming back not just for the flavors, but for how it makes you feel. A true neighborhood treasure.

I've seen this restaurant circling my YELP for the last few months and put it on my "want to try"…read morelist. This place is absolutely solid! If you're looking for good flavorful food options, this has got to be on your "must try" list, I genuinely do not think you'll be disappointed. I ordered the blueberry lemon iced tea, maitake mushroom medley with the option of udon noodles & added chicken, the coconut curry with the option of ramen noodles and the rice pudding with caramel sauce for dessert. First things first, my absolute FAVORITE thing about this restaurant is the food contains no GMO's no preservatives, pink Himalayan salt to season and NO REFINED sugars- only agave and palm sugar to sweeten. I WISH I would've known about this spot sooner JUST for that detail alone. I am always on the hunt for a place that offers refined sugar free options, and with that comes this level of safety knowing what I am consuming has a heath standard/holistic approach to meet and me not having to feel guilty or worrisome after a meal. Absolute 10/10 in that aspect. I saw a few reviews mention the blueberry lemon iced tea, as someone not even a fan of lemonade I decided to give it a try. Let's just say, I was slow sipping my drinks to not finish it all and avoid getting another in the same sitting lol. It's well balanced, not sour, blueberry flavor is present and knowing it's sweetened with agave led to guilt free pleasure. Would recommend everyone to try it, even if you're not a fan of lemonade like I am. Another mention, lemonade tends to make my throat dry, due to its sourness and tanginess and that didn't happen at all. Think the blueberry was more prominent than the lemon, it was really enjoyable. The curry ramen was a highlight! If your a fan of curry, I think you def have got to try this. I actually didn't get it (my partner did) because I didn't wanna be let down, but it was absolutely delicious. I got the maitake medley udon noddles with added chicken and what a blast of flavor. It had veggies, mushrooms, chicken, udon, eggs, kimchi and was extremely flavorful. I was very surprised that each element of the dish had its own flavor and spice that really jumped out, but paired well together. The least favorite thing for me on this platter was the eggs. Just your standard egg, I'm a fan of soy-marinated eggs on my noodles and not a fan of regular boiled eggs, but they are always an added protein plus! One honorary note, is the kimchi. I like kimchi, don't love it, but this was the best kimchi I have ever had. I even ordered a side to go. Another cool thing is the food is cooked fresh, right in front of you. Tbh, we were the only ones in there at 6 PM and food took quite a while, but I appreciate and prefer freshness over quickness always. The rice pudding is light and the homemade refunded sugar-free caramel addition makes it so much better. As there were only two options of dessert on the menu (rice pudding & matcha ice cream) I decided to give it a go although I'm not really a fan of rice pudding. Was it amazing? No. Would I get it again? Possibly. This place was on the pricier side I would say. My bowl of maitake mushroom w/chicken (added chicken being a $6.50 dollar up charge) was $34. Worth it for that price point? Not really, but good none the less. I also ordered a small side of kimchi (the small clear containers) and that was $7 which I think is crazy, but also it was good. For a better price point, I might've asked for a jar lol. Customer service- the workers were nice, but not really personable, which I don't really care for much, but bringing this up because there was this sense that maybe I shouldn't be in there or they just possibly didn't want to work. I tipped nonetheless, but for being the only couple or people in there I thought we would be greeted by everyone, just a simple acknowledgement, but it felt more like we were bothering them by walking in. I understand that people have their days and you have no clue what someone is going through personally, but it was distinct enough to mention- especially as someone who never really comments on the customer service aspect. I see through it cuz the food was great! Something about it was also just a let down, but I can't put my finger on it. Although it was good, I don't see myself frequenting this place. Maybe the price point is deterring me, but I do think it's worth a try!

They have around 15 options for rolls. The prices as of April 2026 are $28.99 per adult for dinner. Solo Brunch Experience: Clean Atmosphere, Mixed Flavors…read more I visited Sakura for brunch recently and had a bit of a mixed experience. On the positive side, the restaurant was exceptionally clean and spacious with plenty of seating. Since I visited during brunch, it was quite empty, which made for a quiet meal, though it did feel a bit pricey for a solo diner. The Food: Chicken Winng-ers! The were the winners, here. Chicken wings: were easily the highlight of the meal. They arrived crispy and super hot, as if they had just come straight from the kitchen. Sushi: The sushi was okay--decent enough, but not particularly memorable. Disappointments: Unfortunately, several other dishes didn't quite hit the mark. The lobster was far too salty to eat, the ribs were dry and lacked flavor, and the fried scallops were very greasy. Service: I found the staff to be not the friendliest during my visit, which added to the overall "blah" feeling of the food. While this specific meal wasn't for me given the price point (around $28.99 for the buffet), I appreciated the cleanliness of the space. I'm always happy to support local spots, but for the price, I was hoping for a bit more consistency in the food quality. Lobster & Ribs: "I struggled with the ribs being dry and the lobster being too salty to eat. For those who visit often, is this a common issue, or did I just catch them on an off day?"
