However, I wasn't a fan of the rice and beans, as they felt more Tex-Mex style rather than authentic tomato-based Mexican rice and refried beans. Came here with friends and we all left in agreement that this restaurant is worth coming back This restaurant is in a central location near Seattle Center and McCaw Hall. Street parking is available and can be sparse depending on the day and any ongoing events around the area. The restaurant features a loft style space and a towering liquor shelf featuring various tequilas and other spirits. Dining area is spacious and able to handle large groups. We were provided a delicious appetizer tostada which immediately disappeared in a few bites. First peek at the menu and I was already excited to order food and drinks. I ordered the Vampiro which is a mix of spicy reposado tequila, fresh lime, salt, Mexican Squirt and Sangria. This drink has a nice spice and yet refreshing. For dinner I ordered the steak a la plancha. This dish is described as thinly sliced skirt steak, fresh onions, tomatoes, potatoes, herbs and spices. This was served with rice, beans and fresh handmade tortillas. The steak was tender and flavor packed. Rice was perfectly cooked and the beans were well-seasoned. I found myself dipping the tortillas in the sauce ensuring every inch was drenched and not a single drop was wasted. Service was prompt and friendly. I can't believe it took me this long to check out Sal Y Limon! The food, service and ambiance were 10/10. We got the Chicken Sopitos, Enchiladas Del Mar, Queso Fundido, and churros & flan for dessert. All dishes were perfectly seasoned and had tons of flavor. My favorite was definitely the Enchiladas Del Mar! My husband got the Molcajete, with shrimp, beef and chicken which he really liked in building his own tacos! This is the first place in Seattle that I have gone to where the spicy margarita is ACTUALLY SPICY. Thank you!!! And I have lived here for almost 8 years so yes, I have gotten around. Wasn't super hungry so shared the carne asada molcajete with my boo and it was 100. We were in a bit of a hurry to get to a concert so didn't stay much longer but I am sure the rest of the margaritas that looked tasty probably live up to the description on the menu. We love this place. I even said to my partner (and eventually even to the server), "We should come here more often". The wait staff is super friendly and helpful. And there's always a little surprise amuse bouche to start the meal. Today we had the "ave e arroz", which I would have called "Arroz con pollo", since the ingredients are the same. We made reservations a party of three for 5:30pm on a Friday evening. They have happy hour everyday from 3-6pm and 9pm-close that includes discounts on margaritas, cocktails, small bites, and coffee drinks. This place is close to Climate Pledge Arena and we had nice views of the Space Needle from our table. It's a little difficult to find parking since it's in the SLU area but there's paid street parking. There are two floors: the first floor has tables and a bar and the second floor is a loft area. We started off the meal with complimentary chips and different types of salsa as well as bean tostadas. QUESO FUNDIDO ($9.50) - this was not as much a dip as melted cheese with chorizo on a plate. This was so cheesy that over the course of the evening the cheese hardened and made it tough to scoop with chips. At a certain point we ripped the cheese with our hands or with a fork. 3/5 CEVICHE ($9.50) - I really liked the freshness with the shrimp along with the brightness of the lime and avocado. This was one of the better ceviches that I've had. 4.5/5 TACOS ($9.50) - they had both pork and chicken tacos during happy hour. I only tried the pork but they were pretty good. The adobada was fatty and I liked the small bits of pineapple for a touch of sweetness. 4/5 ULTIMATE MARGARITA ($10.25) - this drink tasted good and I liked that this margarita came with a shaker. Whether or not there's more alcohol in the liquid is a different story but at least you could refill it yourself and it feels like a deal. 4/5 TOP SHELF MARGARITA ($14) - this drink was more tart and dry than the ultimate margarita. This was okay but I preferred the other one. 3/5 Overall everything we ordered was pretty good. We found this gem on an accident when our original place turned out to be a bar 21+ only. So we went around the corner to this sweet spot on a local's recommendation. It was fantastic! The service was super quick and they were so friendly. We had a group of 17 with 9 kids from ages 5-15. They were so patient and sat us at a long table so we could all be together. We ordered the molcajete, tacos, quesadillas, margaritas... we had the spicy margarita, the mango margarita and a skinny margarita... all delicious. Love this place. Two times, I've been here, and think I have a favorite new Mexican place in lower Queen Anne/Uptown. I ordered from Sal Y Limon because my family went out to do something and I don't like cooking for one! I ordered fajitas because they can be catered to be healthy while also being delicious. I walked the four blocks to get it with my dog (this comes into play, trust me!). It took a few minutes for them to bring it out--but, that's cool. I like to know my food was just prepped. They brought out my food, thanked me for a my patience (I didn't need patience...but, that was kind!), and i headed home. I have a dog who wants to meet and greet everyone, so we stopped a few times to greet neighbors and people walking outside. My food was getting cold--but, I can't let my puppy be sad! It took me about 20 minutes to get home. I had somehow allowed the container to turn sideways in the bag. The juices kind of escaped, but the bag kept it all in. I poked the bag, returned the juices to the fajitas that had been all sloshed around and together in the container. I was a bit sad, but it smelled amazing! I knew from that point that I'd be going back to Sal Y Limon for table service because of how delicious it looked. Then, I ate it. Oh my gosh, my fajitas turned fajita bowl is an amazing mix of rice, beans, cojito cheese, meat, and veggies. Had a delicious lunch at Sal Y Limon. We ordered: molcajete with steak - served in a hot mortar that is piping hot and a side of fresh tortillas. Delicious red salsa and chorizo at the bottom. chips fresco - chips, guacamole, and 3 house salsas ranging from mild to hot. Really good and nice to just nibble on throughout our meal. chicken enchiladas verde - my favorite because of the verde sauce. I enjoyed the nice acidity from the pickled red onions as well. quesadillas with Al pastor - my husband's favorite! Started out with an amuse bouche which I'd never had before at a Mexican restaurant.
