Very disappointing lunch. I ordered from the dinner menu hoping to get a full meal. Selected the Pepper Garlic stir fry with shrimp ($2 additional). The dish was about 1 cup of shredded cabbage, no other vegetables and 6 shrimp along with a spicy sauce. For over $15, not much food. Just another reason to avoid trying a new restaurant. I ordered shrimp pad thai (an up charge for shrimp), and then i ordered extra shrimp (another $3 up charge) through postmates. they did not actually add extra shrimp- there are only 6 in the whole dish; so i feel as if i was unfairly charged. the pictures may not reflect it because they are close up but the portions were fairly small compared to other local thai restaurants . the peanut sauce for the spring rolls were incredible-- not too sweet. there is a long unflavored strip of tofu inside the spring roll which was not a great surprise, taste, or texture. otherwise the vegetables inside the spring roll were minimal at best. i wouldn't recommend. otherwise, i found the pad thai to be pretty flavorful. the portions were so small, i definitely wouldn't order the spring rolls again. and they didn't actually add extra shrimp i paid for so overall - i won't be ordered from here again. read more

My experience so far here has been really present . I always have ordered to go here the food is awesome and the customer service is beyond excellent. Like I said I always order take-out here. Most of Entree come in microwavable container when order take-out. Today, I am ordered Green Curry with Chicken. It is my all time favorite here since they put different veggies in including eggplant for those who love eggplant! Another dish I ordered tonight was "Drunken Noodle" aka Basil Stir-fried noodle. For those who love spices food and noodle. This might fill you void :) One last dish I ordered was Mango Sticky rice. What special about here is the sticky rice was mix with Butterfly Pea flower commonly known in Thai as "Unchan" Flower. It is given the beautiful midnight blue color to the sticky rice The down side to this place is the small portion. It is literally half of cup scoop. All the portion is a bit too small for even one serving. I feel like they could have increased the portion a little bit bigger since one dish average out $11-12 and other Thai places I have been have significantly bigger portion with the same price. I cannot believe I haven't reviewed sala Thai! I absolutely love their pad tai. That's all I get and I do chicken and tofu and for me they have the best tofu. I always get extra peanuts and it's delicious and on point every single time. This is my absolute favorite! They have plenty of other things on the menu but for me it's the pad Thai! I had the Druken Noodles, Panang curry, and the Tom Kha Kai (which I think is the best one of the three.) The noodles, in my option, was very salty. Maybe the chef was a littleeee bit heavy handed with the fish sauce. The beef was tough like it was a cut for stew, not stir fry. The curry was good. I just wish more rice came with the portion. The reduction of stars is, actually, for their prices, which I sometimes only knock one star off for, however having lived in overpriced places like The San Francisco Bay Area (and having tried many Thai restaurants there) and seeing a lot of their prices actually be lower than this restaurant, I can't help but grimace when faced with those kinds of price tags for a plate of say... My favorite Pad See Eww (flat rice noodles with protein and veggies in soy sauce)... Aaand... this is Oklahoma City. NOTE #2: I will say their PSE was very good (they know how to make it and they make it right! Yum yum) Other than that they're friendly enough here and the place looks quaint and homey inside, with soft music playing normally. Came to OKC to visit a friend. After having few western food, was craving some spices. Was told this restaurant has been here for over 10 years. They have a very good lunch menu, and busy during lunch. Love it once I stepped in. It has a homey feel to it. The staffs are very sweet. They suggested the Curry-puffs and it was very very delicious! The pastry was crispy and the stuffing was very flavorful. I got the boat noodle and it hit the spot for me. Sala Thai is our go-to Thai place near our house. It's not my favorite Thai in the city but it is a good second choice and convenient for me. The food is always freshly made and comes out piping hot. For dinner that means there might be a bit of a wait since everything is made to order. Recently I tried the Wild Woods curry which was chock-full of eggplant and fresh zucchini. The layers of flavor were delicious! It's definitely a new favorite and something different than my usual. And how can you go wrong with Pad Thai? Theirs is really delicious. It's obvious they cook the noddles fresh (they aren't broken from being reheated) and they have a great ratio of sauce. My favorite protein is a chicken and tofu combo. Most entrees come in right around $10. Other tidbits: They have lunch specials during the week but I haven't made it in for lunch yet. Their homemade Thai tea is quite tasty and only $2.50. Oh, and their spicy scale is 1-5; 3 is usually perfect for me. I love the atmosphere. It's very relaxing and zen. And always clean. A solid 4 stars goes to Sala Thai! read more

This is probably my favorite place to eat in Oklahoma City. Their food is delicious (Thai basil with chicken, spice level 4 of my usual). My family has also tried and loved the pepper garlic chicken, basil fried rice, Tom ka (sp?) seafood (and chicken), and the pumpkin curry dish. My grandson really likes the kids chicken and rice. I would like to start off by saying the entire meal was soo delicious. The chicken in my pad thai was so tender, and had just the right ratio of noodles, to veggies to protein and sauce. I ate it all, down to the very last peanut. With that being said, the portion was less than to be expected for an $11 entrée and $6 appetizer for only 3 (very crisp) spring rolls. I hadn't had Thai food in six weeks, and this was disappointing. She ordered Green Thai Curry. The color and flavor was dull. The chicken was tough, possibly microwaved. My husband and I like this as our date night Thai spot. It has a nice, decorative atmosphere & a hardworking staff. Sometimes service can be a little slow when they're busy, but it's not from a lack of hustle. Our favorites have been the Thai basil & Panang Curry, along with their fresh spring rolls w/ peanut sauce. They have a (3 entree + rice & soup) lunch special for $6.50, which is a good deal. It has been good food & also a time saver. The entree options are set up on a buffet, so you can choose the three you want. But don't make the same mistake I made & start loading up your plate with food...it is a service buffet where they prepare your plate for you, oooops! I was very impressed with the food I got to go from Sala Thai. It was freshly made, hot, and it was super easy to order online through the Yelp Order Pickup option. I really liked the option to order it this way and schedule a time for pickup. I got the Tom Kha Kai soup and it was very flavorful and delicious. Could have maybe used a little hotter spice, but then again, I only asked for a 2. Now that I know their 2s are actually Mild as stated, I'll probably got up to 3 (Medium). For my entree I got Karee Curry with chicken and it was fantabulous! Super flavorful and kind of like an Asian version of chicken, potatoes, and veggie comfort food. I personally love Sala Thai and Thai is my favorite cuisine. First, the people who work at this place could not be friendlier and always try to be as accommodating as possible. I usually order through postmates, but I always have a good experience when I drive over to get takeout. My go-to faves here are the karee puffs, which are flaky and flavorful, and I always get the fried spring rolls. The sauce with them is tangy and delicious. For mains, I love the basil fried rice - I get mine with beef and without mushrooms. It reminds me of my favorite Thai place in Montreal. I also frequently get the Massaman curry.
