Sala Thai is by far the best Thai in OKC! Slowly but surely making my way through their menu over the past few years and they never cease to amaze. Pad Thai chicken is my go to (level 3 spicy is solid)! I'm a sucker for the peanut sauce so Sa-tue* chicken is a must every time. Spring rolls are fantastic and all of the soups are perfect for those cold nights. Massaman and pangang curry are always delicious. The food here is always consistent and portions are more than enough, I could go on and on! read more

The Curry comes with a ton of meat which my other half loves but I think I will order with less chicken and more curry next time. I have been going to this Thai place for years. Is it the best Thai food in OKC? No... but when you live in the downtown area and you want some good Thai, especially to go, this is your place! I wish I could tell you about many of their dishes but I pretty much just have the curry. It's wonderful, flavorful, consistent and always fresh. My SIL recently had their pad thai and loved it. Sala Thai used to be my favorite in the area for Thai food, but it isn't as flavorful as other Thai places around. Boat noodles were good, but lacked a little bit of the strong flavor they should have. Also asked for Thai spicy, which I have in the past, and it never comes out spicy enough. Even there side of fried chilis are not that hot. Curries are good. Fish cakes on the appetizer menu are really good and flavored really well with lime and Thai basil. Always check your order. This place has such glowing reviews which is why I am so utterly disappointed. I have ordered from this restaurant several times and my order has never once been 100% correct. Twice something was missing and today I got the complete wrong order. We ordered food for takeout last week. Covid-19 is going on. The man working was so well prepared and we felt so safe getting our food. There is a drive-up window you can use. The man was wearing a P95 mask, gloves, and maintained 6 feet between us even when taking our credit card. Sala Thai is a nice restaurant with it's cultural decor. I ordered Basil Fried Rice, Pad Thai, Red Curry, Fried Tofu and drunken noodles. The fried rice had that darkened color and it was very good. I ordered it with beef and the rice had a deep basil and thai spice hint to it. The red curry was mild and delicious as well. It has more of a coconut milk taste to it than your traditional curry. The pad thai and the drunken noodles could have been better. The Pad Thai was kind of bland and pale. I am more accustomed to Pad thai having that orange color and more dressed with sauce. Overall, I thought this restaurant was pretty good. The day that I went, there was only one waitress and she seemed super stressed out. I hope they get more people to help so the service would be a little better. She tried and I won't dock her points for that. Give this place a try. read more

The minute you walk in the door you just know the food is good! The smells are incredible and so many people seated at tables and in line for take out! The decor is nice and subtle. I'm guessing it is Thai-like. Can't really tell. The tables, floors and bathrooms are immaculate! The staff are courteous and can help recommend spicy levels and which protein goes with which dish. The red curry chicken was incredible! The spicy level was perfect for me. My friend had the green curry chicken, which was equally good, but she drank 3 glasses of water with her meal! It's too spicy for me! The fried dumplings were delicious, as well as the fried spring rolls! Another in the group really enjoyed the basil fried rice! Serving sizes were large, so come hungry! Sala Thai wasn't bad. The service was excellent, the waitstaff were very attentive. The decor and ambience were outstanding. The food was okay. We had different versions of pad thai (one with tofu, two with chicken) and they were pretty good. I had the massaman curry and while it was edible, it was on the bland side. There are better Thai places in town but Sala Thai is perfectly acceptable. read more

I enjoyed an amazing dining experience last night at Sala Thai. First of all, the restaurant was clean, charming and complete with fresh flowers on the table. I ordered fresh spring rolls and Thai Basil with chicken heat level of 3. The waiter brought me fried spring rolls instead of fresh. I didn't say anything because I wasn't completely against fried and they looked delicious. He realized his mistake and brought me fresh spring rolls after I had eaten the fried ones. So, I enjoyed them also (and he enjoyed a nice tip.). The Thai Basil had a very generous amount chicken and came with rice. The "3 heat" was definitely medium heat. Between the excellent food, service and atmosphere I was able the have an outstanding dining experience. read more

Be careful with postmates/delivery orders!! I paid $12.95 for the panang curry (+$1 for extra veggies) and had the bowl 1/3 of the way full with curry and no extra veggies. Quite disappointing. Not sure if it's just that it was delivered, but it was NOT what I paid for. Probably 1/3 of a cup of curry. Maybe it's the normal size, but I know other places I can get much more curry for a cheaper price and I'll be ordering from those places. read more

Everything here is so delicious! Beautiful peaceful atmosphere and decor as well. Staff is so friendly and kind! We came with family to celebrate my birthday and my grandpa's birthday together and brought our 6 mo old daughter with us, and the server smiled and talked to my daughter and was very patient with us while taking our orders. Then later while we were eating, they played baby nursery songs on the speakers (I'm assuming for my daughter since she was the only child in the restaurant) and I thought that was SO sweet!! I got the tom kha soup with tofu and and iced green Thai tea and both were so flavorful and absolutely delicious. They gave me and my grandpa each an iced Thai tea to go for free for our birthdays, we thought that was so kind and thoughtful! We will definitely be eating here more often!!! I wish I had taken pictures of our food but we all ate it so quickly because it was so good! read more

I went to this place as I searched through Yelp for a good Thai place. And boy was it a winner!!! We all tried curries and they were delicious!! I had the Pineapple curry with shrimp and coconut milk. It was delicious! My friends tried the Massalam and Red curries. Both delicious! They all come with a side of rice. We all just ate our dishes up. They were so yummy! The staff was friendly and helped us pick out dishes. They have a nice looking lunch combo meal for the weekdays. Sala Thai has become my 2017 go-to Thai restaurant in OKC. When my previous Southeastern Asian go-to place, Banana Island, inexplicably shut down I rediscovered Sala Thai and it's now home to all my OKC Massaman Curry, Tom Kha, Pad Thai, Sticky Rice Mango orders! The food is great (they really understand non-spicy yet flavorful), the place itself is very nice on the inside, the owners are extremely friendly, the location is unbeatable for anyone close to downtown/midtown/OCU and prices are more than decent (lunch specials are a steal). I will continue to visit Sala Thai constantly until further notice! read more

The fried rice here is amazing! I first saw this place a couple of years ago and it didn't seem like much from the outside. However, whenever I first went in the interior was welcoming and the food smelled great! The pad thai is one of my favorites of all time! I ordered take out from here the other day, and something shocking happened. I walked in to order, rather than calling it in. I was already in the neighborhood when I decided that's what I was taking home for dinner, and it was easier to go in than to drive, decide, call and order. But that's not the shocking part. I ordered, inside. And I waited. I was one of only a few people in the restaurant, but I waited a good fifteen minutes for some curry and some spring rolls. And I loved every minute of it. I've never been so sure that every bite of food was prepared just for me. As the minutes ticked by, I knew that back in the kitchen, they were putting the finishing touches on some delish curry, just for us. It was so hot (temperature) when I got it home, I almost needed a potholder to handle the to go container. The rice was fresh (not reheated). The veggies in the spring rolls were crisp and cold, while the translucent wrapper was not sticky (like they get when they've been at it too long). Color me impressed. I'm often so disappointed in take out that I wish I had skipped the calories and done that whole Special-K-for-dinner-thing I hear other girls do when they feel a skinny jean weekend coming on. But Sala Thai makes me savor every last coconut-y calorie of my curry and carbtastic rice, which is why I ordered this in the first place. And for that, I thank you. read more

Sala Thai, you do me good. Fresh spring rolls and Tom Yum Koong leave me feeling so fresh and valiant that afterwards, instead of wanting to up the ante with some overly sweet slice of brownie or, ahem, whiskey cake, ... I simply want a warming cup of green tea. Preferably genmaicha. The Tom Yum Koong is a warming and drinkable panacea, as long as you watch out for the big chunks of fragrant lemongrass. It can be ordered large or small. Likewise, you can order 2 springrolls or 4. Man, I like that I don't have to spend more than I'll actually eat. Friendly service. I've only picked up takeout. Both times, it was ready with a smile. I look forward to dining in, as the decor is clean and welcoming. VERY GOOD SHRIMP AND CHICKEN PAD THAI AND BEEF GREEN CURRY! This is my go-to Thai fix in Mid-Town. I always order to go and the employees are very nice and also pretty precise on the amount of time it will take for the order to be ready. There was a time it was really busy and they gave me a free tea for waiting on my order to be finished. It was a great gesture for having me wait a little longer for my food. When I walk in to get my food the restaurant is always clean and presentable. I highly recommend this Thai restaurant for the taste and the service. They do not have near enough staff to serve the lunch time rush and as a result it took 45 minutes to get my food. By the time I received my food it was cold. If you want Thai food in OKC, please... GO HERE! It's a small place but it's packed with wonderful dishes and people. I came on a weekend (Saturday) but it looks like they have weekly specials that are very affordable and tasty. On this particular day, I started out with a Thai Tea. You can't really go wrong with one and it was tasty. Just the right amount of cream in there to mix with the strong tea flavour. Then the food came out... we had drunken noodles and red curry to share (both with chicken). It seemed kind of odd that the rice came on a plate and the curry came in this weird shaped dish (there is probably a name for it but I don't know it). Don't let that distract you because the curry is soooo good. I got a level 2 because I can't handle too much spicy and it proved to have enough kick to where my lips were tingling but I could still enjoy my meal. The noodles itself were soaked in this yummy sauce that made you want to slurp it all down (it doesn't come in a broth - it's stir dried flat noodles). Most dishes average around $9-$11 but if you're wanting seafood then that will probably be at least $13. Very good pricing if you ask me. We finished everything and felt sooooo stuffed! This is one of my go to restaurants in OKC when I can't figure out what to eat. What's not to love here? The staff is super friendly although sometimes they are overwhelmed and the attentiveness isn't as good as I would like it to be (timely drink refills specifically). The food is always top notch, seasoned and spiced the way I always request it...5/5. My favorite dish is the cashew chicken, but I've tried numerous things on the menu and never found any of them to be bad. Go here, eat everything, be happy. read more
