Located I'm a small strip mall off of 32nd St in Peoria. There is plenty of parking which is shared with the other stores in the plaza. I had the mixed vegetables with brown rice. I asked for spice level 5 it wasn't hot & the food was so bland no taste whatsoever. My guy had the coconut milk soup with chicken and chow mein noodles. He said his food lacked flavor. Ordered red chicken curry , asked to have no bamboo . What I told i got when he handed it to me was "red curry chicken no bell pepper" when I got home and opened it , I was blown away it had barely any chicken and was loaded with bamboo and mostly vegtables. I have come here before, but haven't done a review. I got the Pad See Ew with tofu, and it was fabulous. I have had this other places and Sala Thai's is really good. It has some broccoli, bok choi and carrots in it as well. The service is fast, and the ambiance is nice. It's a great little place. I will continue to eat here over and over. read more

The restaurant small but quite popular - we found that out when it came early on Saturday evening and had a little bit of wait, during which we saw that their takeout business was brisk. Once we were seated, we ordered chicken wonton soup, spicy basil leaf pork, spicy cashew chicken, and white rice. The food was tasty and satisfying, which explains the popularity of the place. We ordered spice level 2 (out of 5), and it still had a stronger kick that we had expected, so be forewarned. The only the reason I could not give this five stars is, we had to wait over an hour after we placed our orders before our food arrived. With a flight back to Minneapolis in 8 hours, we stopped by here for a quick dinner on a Sunday evening. I love Thai and was a bit concerned about the mixed reviews but wanted to try it for myself. It's in a little strip mall. It's not too crazy busy, seems like most of their business is take-out from our evening. The restaurant is clean and there is plenty of seating. The servers were younger, twin girls that were friendly. Our order was taken and our food was sitting in front of us within 10 minutes. Wow! The Yellow Curry and Thai Fried Rice w/ Duck were delicious! We also got the mango with sticky rice for dessert. I don't see any issues with our food and it was very reasonably priced. Only irritating thing was a group of about 7 people in a corner who were on their 5th bottle of wine and were VERY loud. So after a long day of moving, I want something of a hot soup that's comforting. Sala thai is of the few places that opens late. Had tom ka, spring roll, flat noodles, and green curry. Everything is pretty good, but the spring rolls fell short. Their spring roll is just a whole lot of lettuce, noodles, and a bit of carrot. Usually they have tofu for the none meat ones, and some protein included. The sauce for the spring roll also feel short. It's just straight up hosien sauce and they sprinkled crush peanut on it. That's a bit lazy for a peanut sauce. Otherwise, the other dishes, especially the tom kah are really good. read more

Sala Thai was a spontaneous choice for dinner during our visit in Arizona. From the first bite of each dish, I knew we made the right decision. We ordered the pad thai, tom yum, chicken larb, fried catfish, spicy basil fried rice, and mango sticky rice. The flavors of each dish were just right. The texture and taste of the pad thai were balanced well, the tom yum had a perfect balance of tang from the lemon grass and flavor from the spices. The catfish was delicately crisp and not greasy, which was paired with a flavorful and addicting house special sauce. The mango sticky rice was very refreshing; the mango was sweet and ripe and the sticky rice was perfectly not too sweet, with the right texture (not too mushy and not too hard). The larb and fried rice were also good. What also added to our pleasant experience was the exceptional service. The waitresses were extremely kind and attentive. As we all shared our dishes family style, one of us in our party doesn't handle chili very well, so we requested our chili on the side. Not only did they accommodate to our request, but they provided us 3 different kinds of chilis to add to our own portions, which were very delicious! This Thai restaurant truly needs to up their game. And they need to up their attitude from pour to service. From the start they had slow service and attitude to boot. Even when I said at the table my glass room was dirty with lipstick and the plates they served on the table for the spring rolls were already smeared & unclean. Next, Nothing we ordered tasted right. My food was cold and BURNT, and my partners was COLD and raw. We will never come back here as they gave us attitude when we tried to tell them that my partner's food was not cooked. I showed them that my food was actually burnt. And I was given an excuse that they had a new cook in the back. I don't think I've ever been to a restaurant where they wouldn't take it back or at least take it off the check. In fact, don't think I've ever even had burnt tofu in my entire life. In sum, I felt the quality of this place did not deserve the justice of posting anything except poor poor service and poor poor food. read more

Two large screen TV are available to watch from our booth and the bar stools at the bar so nice! Ceiling fans on and very comfortable temperature. Clean and the food came spiced to our request level, hot off the burners and very affordable too. Our gluten free eaters also were able to ask for gluten free that they offer too! We had Khao Sot Curry Noodles, Broccoli Beef, Pineapple Shrimp, Coconut Shrimp appetizers and Sweet chili edamame. Bill for three was $68. We were stuffed! Spring rolls were very fresh and nice too. Would love to check out other items next time I'm here. The only item that wasn't to my liking was Thai Fish Cake. I'm so disappointed that our favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant tasted unrecognizable and even unpalatable for some dishes. We got seafood tom yum, which was SUPER salty and lacked the nuanced sweetness and didn't have the fragrant lemongrass/galangal notes as usual. The chicken green curry was an almost neon, unnatural green and also really salty, without the balance of coconut and subtle sweetness. The pad Thai was the best dish, but also overly salty. The spicy noodles had a weird herby taste (too much celery?) The eggplant stir fry had delicious eggplant but the pork tasted stale. I'm so sad our $90 dinner will go to waste.
